Property Ratings at Cottonwood Westside
This apartment complex is in a great location. Just a few feet away from dining, entertainment and shopping. I love how close it is to the downtown area. Pricing is not too bad for the location. I would recommend this community to my friends for sure!
I've had a pretty good experience since I've lived here. I was nervous because of some of the reviews but my time here so far has been good. My only real issue has been the lack of visitor parking. Valet trash didn't pick up my trash for 2 days but when I spoke to Jay in the leasing office, she was able to reach out to them and figure out why they hadn't picked it up (a couple of my bags weren't inside the trash can) & there hasn't been any issues since. I'll update my review if anything changes for me.
3 reasons NOT to live here 1. My apartment recently flooded because a water heater busting and management only cares about the asset not about the customers are living within it. They have not offered any help or accomodations for my inconvenience. 2. They recently got rid of all visitors parking so there's no visitor parking on premises. So you have to either pick up your visitors or they have to Uber to you. 3. I've lived here for 5 years and I've never had a working dishwasher and I was the first person ever to live in my unit. They bought faculty dishwashers (the model they bought is riddled with issues) and instead of doing the right thing and just replacing them they're acting like they work. So welcome to the life of luxury which includes doing your own dishes..
I have lived here for two years and am moving out soon. The good: -Great location - Quiet -Safe -Units are newly renovated The bad: -Elevators constantly break down -Fire alarms go off frequently - Rent keeps raising
I visited a friend at cottonwood apartments and got booted for $75 a day. I went for three hours and paid $75! Truly insane. They have hundreds of rooms with 8 spots, then to make matters worse they hire people to come and boot you. It was late at night so the garage was not the safest and there was spotty service. I parked in the closest available spot to guest parking (the absolute ground floor - two levels below the ground) then I got booted. I didn’t park in any of the nicer, better spots that would have been safer. Definitely a scummy complex. Great if you never want to have visitors. If you ever want to have friends over get ready to pay for all their Uber’s or all their cars getting booted.
So far the experience hasn't been the best. My car was broken into recently, and Westside did nothing to make this right. The Garage is gated, but clearly no security cameras or anything to keep residents safe. Very disappointed there, they had an opportunity to make a terrible situation that happened on their property right- but did not. The dog park they tout, is just dirt currently, where unfortunately many residents also don't clean up after their dog. In addition, there are light poles broken in the dog park, and not well kept. Rooms are nice, but very noisy and not sound proofed. Can hear everything going on outside. Positives: Assistant manager is nice and responsive. Not everything is in her control, I think she has some operational roadblocks from upper management shes working against. Also, the pool and gym area is nice and well kept. Wanted to love this place, but every opportunity given has failed.
Just look elsewhere. The main elevator has been broken for more than 30 days. The gym equipment is usually broken. The appliances are less than cheap. The TRAINS... OMG the noise and the horns of the trains all night long for a luxury apt rent? It's ridiculous and amplified by the cheap windows. About the only good thing is the location. But honestly since Atlanta is such a car city you might as well live somewhere else. Trust me...look elsewhere. Best.
This building is in the perfect location but the noise is ridiculous. because the building is on the corner, there are constant loud noises ranging from the construction trucks that pass by, people blasting their car stereos, to the restaurant across the street that has outside karaoke every week, to the club called compound right around the corner. Not only that, but the parking is a headache. The residents of West Elan share a parking lot with the restaurants below the building and it is a headache. The rent is expensive and ranges from 1200-1600/mo. the building isn't worth paying all of that . You're better off searching further down Howell Mill.
Great location, great staff, and great amenities. The pool is beautiful and a great place to cook out. Other residents are very friendly. Very trendy apartment style with new GE appliances.
Elan Westside has a great location. Right outside my door are fantastic restaurants and shops, a 5 minute drive to Atlantic Station, a block from a gas station, and about 7 minutes to I75/I85. The saltwater pool is fantastic. There's always a great atmosphere: people grilling, playing music, having drinks, socializing. My apartment is the perfect size for me. What I was looking for was a one bedroom with a nice view, huge closet, and open, which is what I have. Since the apartment building is about a year old, I think management is still trying to find their groove. It can be a little frustrating but nothing has happened that made me think "I can't wait to leave this place!"
