Property Ratings at Couch9
I moved to Portland from out of state and Shawnda has been incredible before during and after the move. I have lived here for a month and a half now and I absolutely love it here. Administration is friendly and responsive. The resident portal is easy to navigate. The apartment itself (I live in a studio) is well made, quiet, and beautifully open with a lot of natural light (thanks to the amazing floor to ceiling windows). I was also pleasantly surprised by the good amount of storage despite the size of the apartment. The communal spaces are clean, and the only negative I can think of is that the noises from the hallway carry through the door very easily but it is not very disruptive. This is also a very central and pet friendly area with a park a block away and a dog park a half mile away; not to mention the grocery store, shopping centres, restaurants, and pharmacy just blocks away as well. I am very pleased with this apartment complex, and I think that it is also pretty affordable especially given its location.
Very friendly staff. Breathtaking views, wonderful rooftop and amenities. It has everything you need! Carol the manager was so efficient during every step of the process.

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to leave a review for us at Couch9. We're happy we could meet your expectations!
The building is amazing. The location is amazing. The apartments are amazing. The management team however wont remember you, wont answer the phone, and. wont answer emails. So if you like feeling anonymous and unimportant, live here!

, thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We strive to meet our residents' expectations in each and every interaction, but we regret that we fell short this time.
No security. Two floors of weekend renters. Common areas are routinely trashed and rules ignored. Avoid.

Great location. The appliances are really nice and patio space is big enough. I have lived here for three years now. Common areas maintenance and cleaning can be improved.

, thank you for reaching out to us with your concerns and feedback. We will take your suggestions into account moving forward.
We originally liked our experience because we're low key and didn't need much assistance, but after the evacuation and lack of communication we don't feel as safe in the building.

It's great to hear from you ! It means a lot to us that you took the time to share your thoughts about Couch9.
Extreme changes since Aug. 2018. Original staff is gone... new property managers. Utilities have skyrocketed. Feels like a hotel not a home. Money is what decides everything. Not real people with real concerns and issues. For instance we are forced to pay for valet recycling - no opt in. Questions go unanswered because management is transitional. They rent out apts. to corporations who come and go and abuse the space. But it doesn't change. No consequences. Parking garage is dirty. Broken glass from a break-in there for months. Overall, it has gone downhill. Corporate atmosphere.

Hi there! Thank you for your feedback. We are glad you love the location of Couch9, we agree it's pretty great. On January 14th a new management team is now in place. We'd love to schedule a time to sit down with you and review your utility bill and get to know you better. We have great things to come in the new year.
The 3rd 5th and 8th floors have many air bnb type rental units. The key fobs don’t work for the door or elevator from time to time. They no longer have guest suites. I guess they want friends of residents to rent the short term rentals I mentioned above. But the icing on the cake is that Jordyn is withholding my security deposit after my 8 month lease although I cleaned the unit upon departure. She has disregarded the video that her agent took and my photos showing a very clean unit and says they had to spend $160 on a cleaning crew after I moved out! I’d attach my photos here if I could.
I recently stayed in the guest suite, as a friend of mine lives here. I'm not from Portland, but this location is amazing. Everything I needed was within walking distance and I was able to experience all the great food Portland has to offer; well not all of it but a decent amount. The staff constantly greeted me and made me feel like I lived there. They were very accommodating and always took the time to answer my questions or let me into my unit/the building every time I forgot my key. The building is kept very well and clean. The suite looked as though it had never been used, that's how clean it was. There is construction going on at the retail space but they don't tend to start till 9AM and are done around 3PM. It will be cool to come back and visit once the construction is done and the bar/restaurant opens up.

So when we toured someone was raving about the staff and how amazing they are. Honestly, they were giving such a raving review I thought it was an "off-duty" team member or relative. We went on the tour and got a pretty good sense of the staff and felt they were pretty cool as well. We decided to rent here and now being a tenant for a month we have to agree that the staff is AMAZING!!! They truly make you feel like you're at home and a part of their community.
