Property Ratings at Country Club Towers I and II
We have been here around 8 years now and this Review is specifically for the maintenance team. We have a power outage in the city today and the team is working on making sure all common passages are well lit and safe. This is at 11:30 in the night and they are still working. On a normal day, they are always around to solve any maintenance issues that we might face. They are just awesome
Thanks to the efforts of the management at Country Club Towers, the Front Desk Security who offer a smile and a welcome to us and our guests, and the capable and dedicated maintenance staff, we have made a very comfortable transition from our home in Upper Montclair to our new roomy abode here at the Towers. The grounds are lovely and private. Each concern we might have had in moving from a house into an apartment dwelling has more than been satisfied upon our moving in. Parking limitations are being addressed as are any of the concerns residents might have. Maintenance is responsive and always available and have proven themselves to be a true asset to this complex. The units are spacious and updated with more than adequate closet space. The residents are friendly; the community, congenial. As a couple with grown children, we now have time to share with friends at UMCC, while being able to welcome our grandchildren for pleasant visits. There is a real sense of being nestled into a park-like setting with easy access into Manhattan with all the cultural amenities we have grown to appreciate as part of our lives. Thank you to our CCT Family.
I've been living this apartment for two years. This apartment is old and not well maintained. There are huge licking problem starting from June and still in process of fixing. The other day the elevator was not working due to flooding. I am not sure what's going on this building. I am thinking about the moving out.
The biggest complaint I have is in regards to parking. Management seems oblivious to the issue. There are more cars than there are parking spaces and for the amount of rent we pay, each apartment should have at least 1 assigned parking space. There are residents with 3/4 cars, people use the lot to store cars and the leasing office does absolutely nothing to help resolve the issues. Residents have resorted to parking in the Fire Zone, which is a big safety issue. Many residents have suggested tearing down the tennis court as it's used by kids to ride bikes! Please keep the parking situation in mind if you are thinking of this place..
We're sort of new to this community and I have to say this place is great. Everyone (the office, front desk, maintenance, etc.) is very kind and they make coming home something to look forward to. As an NYC commuter this location is a dream. We were nervous at first because of some of the reviews we read online (bad air conditioning, leaks, etc.) but we haven't had one negative experience thus far. The apartment is huge and there's more storage here in a 1 bedroom than we had previously in a 2 bedroom. 9 out of 10 times the people leaving reviews are the ones who had that 1 bad experience. Don't let that fool you otherwise you'll miss out. Thanks country club towers! Keep up the great work!
The apartments are spacious, I give them that! Unfortunately, many peole have dogs, so you are subjected to the barking. My upstairs neighbor keep me up most nights, as they walk very hard and due to the hardwood floors its very loud/annoying. The walls are pretty thin and you constantly hear your neighbors and management is not helpful in resolving issues. They tell you parking is available, however, many nights you cannot find a place to park. When there is a snow storm, its dificult to clean the lot due to the amount of cars, and it's a complete nightmare. Management does not enforce rules. The rent should not go up as much as it does. Its a decent place to live, however, I would not recommend this place to family or friends.
When we visited the apartment, we were shown a descent apartment with the updated appliances, shiny floors, and very clean for the most part in tower 2. I ended up choosing an apartment in tower 1 for personal reasons. We came in a few days earlier to sign the lease and the consultant showed us the apartment for one last time, however; nothing had been done with the exception of the walls being painted. She reassured us that they were going to clean the apartment and it would be ready for us to move in. When we moved in, the floors were dirty and not done, the bathroom was not done at all and was dirty, the kitchen was not clean and i even found left over food from the previous tenant in the oven. The dishwasher, the oven, and specially the fridge were disgusting. I had to scrub down everything in that apartment and i am still disgusted. We were told by maintenance that he was going to order a new fridge and it's been three weeks, no fridge. We brought up all of these issues to the office and all we got was an apology and we were told by the consultant that she was going to speak to the manager, it is the second time this has happened, and was not sure how the manager was going to handle it. Until today, we have not heard anything. The heat does not work and runs for a little bit and then stops. We all got sick because we had to sleep in the cold. Supposedly, maintenance came in to fix the problem when we were not home, after i told them i did not want them to come in when i am not present. They came in anyway and the heat is still not working. It is now spring and hopefully we will not have any issues with the AC in the summer time..
When I think of luxury, I don't think of amenities preset. I think of friendly neighbors, good facilities, and a quiet, comfortable, secure living space I can call a home. At Country Club Towers I have all of that. The people here are kind, friendly, and caring. Maintenance does a superb job. People are helpful and patient. To me, this is luxury and it is nice to do at a rent that is reasonable.
The apartment is nice. The kitchen is outdated (cabinets and appliances). The living space is large, it has a nice size balcony , however the rails can use a little TLC. The building has a large clean pool which you have to pay an extra fee for the season, it also features a nicely equipped gym, also at an extra fee. Tennis court (Free) Walking distance from the movie theater, restaurants, Rite Aid, commuter bus, major highways Clean 24hr laundry facility inside the building. Inside parking at an extra fee. However, there is plenty of spaces on their outside parking lot. 24hr concierge Pets are allowed depending on size and breed Staff is friendly.
I have lived at the Country Club Towers-Tower 1 for three years now. It has a lot of potential as it is easy on the eyes--the lobby is nice. The hardwood floors are nice. The view from apartments are great! However, it is a very old building and the maintenance crew has a daunting task to keep it running. In my experience, the maintenance crew has not been able to keep up with the leaks, the stubborn drains, the electrical issues, etc. If they did not keep increasing the rent every year to the maximum, then this place would probably do for me. However, there will come a point where the amount you pay in rent will not be worth the facility and service from the maintenance employees. Pros: Great location, nice views from apartments, utilities included, nice lobby with 24 hr security, hardwood floors Cons: OLD building with lots of issues, understaffed maintenance crew can't keep up, rent increases to the maximum the law allows, expensive to purchase summer pool pass, elevator is skittish
My apartment is perfect for all of my needs. Though I don't spend a lot of time there, I have plenty of storage for my many outfits, just the right amount of kitchen space, and a glorious main area with room for a couch, bed, large bookcase, desk, and eating area. There's even a spot for my bike!
I would have loved to stay here longer, but fiancée and I are moving out of state for work. At night the, the view from my one bedroom was magnificent. I had a great view of the country club and of the nyc skyline! We would have breakfast in our balcony and watch the fireworks during Fourth of July! I would recommend to anyone. Unfortunately, I am moving in three weeks :(
Living here is great. Maybe my stay was effectivley more enjoyable by the room I was given. It was in the 14th floor in building two. The rooms were spacious, the kitchen had a very good stove, oven, and dishwasher. The closet space was abundant. And from my experience, I never had no issue with any neighbors. And being right next to NYC, the view when you go out into the balcony and see the majestic skyline across the green country club was truly phenomenal. Moreover, the doormen are very friendly and are always willing to help with your groceries or anything you ask. Again it may be a function of personal taste, but that location, view, and comfortability made it one of the best places I lived in. Also, the park and ride is only 1 minute away in car which was a nice perk.
I've been living here for over a year now and I don't have any complaints. My apartment is very spacious and comfortable. My neighbors are pleasant and quiet. I was a little apprehensive about moving in after reading earlier negative reviews but I have to say I have not experienced any of those problems. My apartment actually gets a little too cool in the summer from the AC so I have to turn it up. They keep their grounds well maintained and the building is always clean. I will recommend them updating the kitchen. Other then that I have had a pleasant experience so far.
the offer of luxury is a deception. you don't get airconditioning. its run by a chiller that constantly breaks down. the condensation from the pipes leads to ceiling and floor damage in your apartment. the thermostats are for looks, they don't go below 72 degees. you DONT control ANYTHING. its all run by someone in an office.same as the heat your heat don't go above 72 and occasionally they shut it down to save energy. the kitchen cabinets and closets have so many layers of paint that they look like they belong in a project some where. the pool is literally falling apart. the lighting is dim through out the building. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
the neighborhood is very good, apts. are spacious but the management has no control on the facility. If you got noisy neighbors, you are done. The apartments are good but not luxurious, my neighbors converted their apt to a workshop, and I have to live with that till the school hear ends. do not live here.
The apartments are big, but you have big problems with the air conditioners / heat, the ceilings leak, and keep leaking, they cause the ceiling, and the side walls to leak which makes your apt. look terrible. you have watermarks in the living room, and bedroom. then guys will come in to fix that problem, and paint what they repaired, so now you have a two tone color, look aweful, they love to come into your apt. with very limited notice, and so if your not home make sure u leave your top lock unlocked so they may enter while ur not home. if u fail to do so, and something goes wrong your held responsible. Not to mention they will rent to anyone these days, dogs are even allowed. place is going down hill.
Property Manager at Country Club Towers I and II, Responded To This Review
I'd rather live with dogs than most people.
The staff was very nice and helpful and building was large and kept well. The apartments themselves seemed very outdated with appliances/closets etc from the 70s or older... There may have been more updated apartments but would have been way to expensive. It seemed like utilities included would be nice but over all look of apartments and appliances were kind of rickety.
Property Manager at Country Club Towers I and II, Responded To This Review
It would have been more helpful if you identified what you were actually shown. Did you see the Main Floor Trash Room? Did you see any trash rooms on the floors where you were shown and apartment? You were not shown an apartment with the leaks. You only realize it "after" you've moved in. They don't paint the entire area and the paint in the rest of the room is discolored. There is no air condition and it's freezing in the winter. They have nothing to do with the Country Club and they're just piggy backing off the Country Club's image. There has been no grass planted here for more than 15 years. That's acutally weeds outside. The photos presented are not accurate. New tenants are shown apartments with shiny floors but believe me, once you move in .... you'll realize it's a buildng on it's way to become a slumb building ... simply in a nice neighborhood. There are no vents above the outdated ranges; the dishwasher is cheap and constantly falls out. And, with respect to making any repairs??? All Country Club Towers II is interested in is "Collecting Rent!" Be glad you didn't move in.
