Characterized by densely populated residential areas and the occasional small shopping center, Millcreek is a safe and comfortable place to live. While not as trendy as Sugarhouse to the north, the neighborhood provides plenty of dining and entertainment options. Families, in particular, love Millcreek for its low crime rate and highly-rated schools.
Millcreek lies just 7 miles south of downtown Salt Lake City, making for a short drive even in the heaviest traffic. Many residents live in the area and commute to the downtown businesses or the University of Utah; Millcreek also lies within a 30-minute drive of many southern suburbs. Just 15 minutes to the east, the Wasatch Mountains provide hiking and skiing opportunities.

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback and glad you enjoy living at Country Lake. We will let our team know about this. You have a wonderful day and thank you once again.
I would not recommend this apartment complex to a single person. The maintenance team and the office manager, Jorge, are extremely unreliable and incompetent. On a 5 star rating, I would give it a negative star rating.

Oh, bless your heart for taking the time to provide us feedback. But if you can let us know exactly what it was that was not done for you we can address it with our staff. In the mean time have a blessed day.
Management is rude and condescending. The grounds are flooded and dirty, neighbors are loud and secondhand smoke in the units is a huge problem for us. Management will require evidence or they won’t help you. Not sure how you’d get photo evidence of someone smoking in their own unit. All I can say is run.
Property Manager at Country Lake, Responded To This Review
Hello Claude & Kylee, bless your heart for taking the time for your feedback. Our staff has to follow proper protocol prior to putting blame on residents. As for the grounds, they have been working on getting things fixed and still working on it. Management will always be blamed when they do not please individuals in their favor. But thank you again and have a blessed day.
I was really happy to hear I had been approved and everything was fine. Someone else from a neighboring property had to come in cover a shift. First mistake red flag. Everything i was told and approved through her wasn't approved by the other worker there when they came back. I had just started a new job and let them know I wouldn't have a full pay stub but an offer letter would be fine. Then later it wasn't fine because it needed specific information, which I tried to figure out. I was then told I was at risk at loosing the apartment because they can only hold it for so long. I was on the phone most of the day trying to get the info for them and Brianna didn't want to seem to lift a finger to help when it was the final day. I gave her a website that alot of renters use to verify employment because I couldn't pull the information myself. After I sent that email I didn't hear from her for awhile and even called throughout the day without an answer. Was then told by someone other than her that I needed to provide the info after explaining I could not. When I went in after getting that message she said it wasn't part of her job description to be calling people and that they needed a physical copy even though the site she could access provided all that. Very upset after waiting so long and to have this be the outcome when she didn't even want to help. Only giving 1 star because I'm getting my deposit back....so they say. Hoping I get it back.

Hello Cameron T. and bless your heart for taking the time to let us know about your experience with our staff. We would like to point out that our leasing agent has always done her due diligence and follows proper protocol to assist all of our applicants as per Fair Housing regulations. Please note that she even contacted your HR department twice and be aware that we do not have jurisdiction in acquiring personal information unless it is handed over from the actual applicant. We wish you well and thank you once again for your feedback, have a blessed day.
Beautiful landscape, but could use improvement on maintenance of the units and communication. The neighbors are not very accommodating or respectful.

I have had a pleasant experiencesince the beginning. The staff is amazing, maintenance is timely and professional. I constantly see staff on site working to keep the complex looking great!

We appreciate you sharing your comments. Our residents' opinions as well as others, are extremely important to us so that we can make sure to make Country Lake a place to live at. Thank you once again and have a wonderful day.
I have lived in this complex for the past 7-months and can say that if you like stepping in dog faeces, listening to dogs bark all day, and seeing trash throughout the entire community including herion needles - this is your place. They are really trying to give the complex some nice curb appeal in redoing *some* of the landscaping and throwing down some mulch. This is due to the sprinklers not working and all the landscape dying. If you have furrier pets, the mulch is quite annoying as it is constantly sticking to their fur and being tracked into the apartment. It's unfortunate that anytime you bring concerns to the management, they meet you with hostility and disregard your concerns, even if it's something as simple as reviewing your bill. I advise looking at the apartment you are interested in before moving in. My fireplace has not worked a single day since moving in, despite the maintenance men coming out several times, the dishwasher is constantly getting backed up, and you'll never hear back about any concerns to management you submit. The oven did not work upon move in, that took a few days to replace since they attempted to fix the broken one from 1975 that the apartment came with. It's nearly impossible to take a full hot, better yet even a warm shower. The pressure is poor and you will run out of hot water within 5mins of starting your shower. The surrounding neighborhood is bleh, right off State Street, so lots of traffic and people walking through. There is a cute little pond with ducks in the center of the complex and depending on what floor/view you have you can get decent views of the mountains, but overall I suggest exhausting all your options before getting stuck in a lease here. I will be looking else where in SLC after my lease is up. I am sure this response will get the "...please do contact the leasing office so we can address the issues..." that has been commented on every review for the past year, but feel that those interesting in renting here deserve a fair review of what they are walking into before signing a contract.

I would highly suggest looking through all your apartment options before settling with this one as I did. I regret moving here due to hostility from the management (Jorge) and leasing staff, in addition to ongoing maintenance issues, and friendliness of the community. I will be looking elsewhere once my lease ends, as many other residents are. It is evident of how many residents are leaving and I cant blame them.

Thanks for the feedback, once again Anonymous. We strive to provide excellent service to our residents by doing our job to the best of our ability and as expected by the owners and Fair Housing regulations. May you have a blessed day.

This is a good, cheaper apartment complex in salt lake. Millcreek is a fairly central city so it has easy access to the freeways. The gates have had some issues but other than that it was a nice place to stay at while we saved up to buy our house. Quiet for the most part, the parking is not always the best, but they are very personable in the leasing office, and that was a big help.

Before we moved in we were told all these stories about how the countertops were getting replaced because it looks like someone used them as cutting boards and yada yada. They never were replaced and then when it came to moving out they wanted to charge us $1200 to replace them. Charged $4 for every light bulb to be changed and were a joke to deal with. The ceiling fan in the apartment caught fire and had to use the fire extinguisher. Told them about it and it was never replaced or recalibrated which made it useless. Walls were paper thin. Loved walking around the property but that was about it. Also parking was a joke.

Loved getting to know and work with Brandon. He's so friendly, easy to work with, and easy to communicate with. Always willing to do anything to accommodate to my needs and make my experience better. Very experienced and knew what he was doing. So personable with every guest and always happy to be around! Overall amazing experience.

Dear User, Thanks for the kind words! We love that you had such a great experience.
The apartment was filthy when I first moved in even after I asked that it be recleaned. You wouldn’t believe the disgusting things I had to clean out of the bathroom before I could move my child in. The grounds are filled with dead trees and dog poop. And most importantly, as soon as you sign your lease, the management ladies are cruel and treat you like garbage. If you can, find somewhere else to live.
Property Manager at Country Lake, Responded To This Review
Hi User, Thank you for your honest feedback. Please accept our most sincerest apologies.
If I could give 0 stars I would, this complex is the worst thing that's ever happened to me. We were promised a washer and dryer before we even signed our lease, reminded them 3 times and the third time they told us they aren't installing them anymore. We were being charged a laundry card we never received until 5 months into the lease. Also were being charged two trash fees. The apartment was painted AFTER we moved in, the painters got paint on our couch and all over the floor that was never fixed, we made a complaint and never heard back. We recently just moved out and the apartment is charging us almost $400 for things like painting the walls, which only one wall had marks from hanging shelves, we were told they had to repaint the whole apartment. We called over 5 times to go over the bill with Wendy always were told she would call back and never did, she is unreliable and extremely rude. The apartment was always swarming with huge bugs, we had to bug bomb weekly. the doors dont touch the floor, so that is to blame. save your money and go elsewhere, you can get much better in a better area for not much more. I will comment bad reviews every day for the rest of my life because they deserve it.
Property Manager at Country Lake, Responded To This Review
Thank you for your review. We're very sorry about. We hope you will consider visiting us again.
THIS IS THE WORST PLACE TO LIVE EVER! I have been living in apartment complexes for over 8 years now and I have never EVER lived somewhere so terrible. The management charges you for things that were not mentioned or on the lease. They have garbage overflowing in the parking lot because they don’t want to pay to get it removed. It took them over 2 months for them to replace one lightbulb that was out. Our AC went out and it took then 3 weeks to get it fixed in the middle of summer and said that we would just have to deal with it. The office was closed when I tried to pay my rent in a weekday so I had to wait till the next day and then they are trying to make me pay $400 in late fees because they were closed. Everyone that I have met here has hated living at the apartment complex and are leaving their leases early because it is so terrible. We had someone parking in our spot that we are forced to pay for and we told them and they said to only let us know during their business hours, and outside of them they don’t care about it that we would just have to park somewhere else. Save yourself and save your money and go somewhere else!

Thanks for sharing your experience. We pride ourselves on maintaining the highest quality standards for our customers but we didn't measure up.
These buildings do not have good insulation. We can hear everything that goes on in our neighbors' apartments - from barking dogs, screaming children, vulgar arguments between roommates. In the six months we have lived here, the police have been called for noise/domestic disturbances at least three times. While I understand that apartment living comes with noise, this is truly excessive. The poor insulation also makes for a cold apartment during the winter and a hot one in the summer. Our electric bill ran nearly $200 to keep the apartment at a reasonable summer temperature. The heating and cooling system is also very out of date. Parking can be an issue. Many other residents leave their inoperable vehicles in the spots closest to the building. For our particular apartment, the covered parking is a few buildings over. The management is not very timely about addressing issues. It took over two weeks for someone to fix the washer (which we are paying extra for), and the apartment was filthy when we moved in. Additionally, they will tell you that this is a smoke-free complex, but that is untrue. Smokers stand right at the base of the stairwell and light up - even after bringing this to the attention of management, nothing has been done except to put out a communal ash receptical. We will be moving out as soon as our lease is up. The large master bedroom does not make up for all the hassle of living here.
Property Manager at Country Lake, Responded To This Review
We want to thank you for taking the time to give feedback about your recent experience. Please accept our apology for the inconvenience we've caused.
The size of the apartments and view from the complex is nice, but don't be fooled. The grounds are disgusting. The ASPCA should remove the ducks from their pond due to the non maintenance and pollution in the pond. I believe the only reason they stay is because they are well fed by tenants. The pet cleanup stations are always full, so the pet owners just start sitting the bags on the ground. Maintenance never fixes any problems. Parking is terrible if you get home after 6pm, whether you have a covered spot or not. But, if you can withstand all of these issues, upon move out you be hit with the overcharge fees for damages (most of which you probably complained about to have fixed during your lease). There are much better places, keep looking.
Property Manager at Country Lake, Responded To This Review
Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. You deserve better and we would love to show you that we can do better.
The apartment is large for the price but then you get the problem of poor maintenance of the property. The gate doesn't work, the covered parking lights stay broken for months. The leasing office is being remodeled but getting your apartment updated is almost impossible. The staff is nice unless you ask too often for something to be addressed. There is a lot of trash on the grounds and the trash is not included, you pay for it twice. You also pay for just about everything in a CAM fee. The pet owners are nice but many do not clean up after their pets. Of course, that's not the management's fault but they also rarely refill the cleanup stations or empty them. Overall, you will hate the parking and the staff abuses the parking that is available. They may be updating the pool next year but it was opened after the end of July due to poor planning and maintenance. Just a list of problems and most people are unhappy after move in. Keep looking people, you can do better.

We appreciate the time you took to leave us feedback. I want to extend my sincerest apologies.
I love Country Lake! It is always kept clean and pretty. If you have children it is a fantastic place for them to find friends! There is a Beautiful pond too! The ducks attract our grandkids to visit. The design gives a roomy feel with wide hallways. The master bedroom is big enough to fit a king size bed plus have room left over for a grandchildren's play area. I've lived here going on 2 years we haven't had problems. Jenni and her staff are very friendly and helpful they go out of the way to help you. Maintenance is quick to come fix problems and they clean up after they are done they are efficient and very skilled in their jobs. I can always expect a hello when I see any of the staff on the grounds. The community is now gated and I love it! I often use their business center. Great pricing for a two bed two bath apartment. Excellent location. Nice pool. The apartments have all the creature comforts I enjoy, gas stove, fireplace, lots of storage, covered paring, washer dryer hook up for full size machines, central heat and air and a huge balcony. Also, importantly, the units are very quiet.

We appreciate the time you took to give us such a great rating! We truly appreciate your recommendation.
The apartment size is good for it to be a 2 bedroom, but the management and staff are not so good. Prices are being added on to the rent without being properly discussed. Unless you have a vehicle, you can't get out of the complex without almost hurting yourself pulling the gate open. I can go on and on, but I will not.

Thanks for sharing your experience. We want to sincerely apologize for for not meeting the mark.
I have been at Country Lake Apartments for some time now , the first unit I lived in started out very nice and comfy but ended up being somewhat a nightmare. The second I moved to recently is a bit nicer then the first, I love the pond and play area for my son, but they are some downsides to the apartments , but overall I love to call it home.
