Property Ratings at Countryside Estates Indiana
After living here for 4 years we saw neighbors come and go. Every year the rent goes up.When my husband got diagnosed with severe RA his health took a turn for the worse at the beginning of the year 2019 and we lost his income and fell one month behind on our rent. When we talked to the management to work with us we got the answer it was up to the main office, calling the main office and explained our situation they replied it's not their problem that my husband got sick that they aren't a charity and they are here to make money, my husband is doing better he's Starting a new job but they still won't work with us and we are being evicted. If you want to live here make sure you don't lose your job or don't get sick, they do not care about their renters they only care about the renters money
After this UMH corporation took over, rent has consistently increased every year for their residents. Promises of playground, community center, storm shelter have still not been delivered. There is no place for kids to play, increased traffic, noisy neighbors. There have been over 30 long term residents leave since UMH has taken over. That in itself should say something. Upper management is rude, flat out lies such as we had asked how effective the home is as the woman stated “extremely efficient, utilities aren’t very much” Well, our light bill alone for one month because of the electric heat was 358 dollars! We only kept our heat at 67 trying to keep the bill down. We asked to leave/vacate our agreement ONE MONTH early and the management declined. We still have yet to receive our damage deposit. Highly disappointed in this location. We thought we were renting a brand new house, as also stated by the manager at the time, later found out by the neighbor that two previous families had rented the house and it was roughly two years old. Again, we highly recommend potential seekers to search elsewhere. The only positive, we couldn’t have asked for better neighbor at the time.
