Property Ratings at Courthouse Square Apartments
Courthouse Square Apartments has been my home for 3 years. I have continued to live in this community due to the excellent service from the leasing office staff, and maintenance requests are responded to quickly. The complex is clean and conveniently located to shopping, schools and parks. My neighbors are friendly and considerate. A quiet community.
Made an appointment to tour on 9/16/23 at 10 am. Received a confirmation email, no phone call or follow up. Show up for my tour ANNNDDDD there's a sign on the door the leasing office is closed 9/16/23-9/18/23. Today is 9/20/23, I haven't gotten a phone call/text/email/carrier pigeon/smoke signal/ANYTHING about why the office was closed, an apology, rescheduling, discounted rent, whatever. I plan on spending my money elsewhere.

Dirty disgusting neighbors constantly leaving TRASH in front of MY door! Unacceptable, and the apt management was NEVER available for anything. In fact, they seemed to have blocked my number, I had to google and call five numbers before being able to reach mgmt. Also, they denied me at the swimming pool for no reason! Pretentious idiots working there, just terrible. This place is a bad disgusting mess. To put it in the nicest way. There's sketchy homeless folks hanging around all the time, trying to dart into your apartment. There's desperate folks using drugs in the middle of the hallway and trying to talk at you to let them stay. Mgmt is horrendous and refuses to take any responsibility for all the crap that breaks, and is NEVER available unless they want to harass you for NO reason!!! Water shut off randomly and whenever I tried to call mgmt, I was blocked or just told to "not care too much" that my apartment had no running water! Awful disgusting place, not exaggerating even a bit. Please do NOT attempt to live here - it is not fit for human living!!!

The lack of responsibility of this apartment manager causes 3 of our cars to break down. We parked near the dumpster area and within 11 days, 2 of our cars' wires got bitten and the car could not even start. We have to tow our car to the mechanic and dealer to fix the problem. We emailed the apartment manager about the issue, they said that they were aware of it but they did not do anything about it, not even reimburse us the money that we did not expect to spend to fix the "new cars". 11 days later, our other car got bitten. It is not cool!

DO NOT RENT HERE!!! IF YOU HAVE VISITORS WITH CARS DEFINITELY DO NOT RENT HERE!!! The visitor parking is VERY few and ALWAYS full because people leave their cars there 24/7 and they do NOTHING about it. They WILL tow ANYONE without a permit thats not in a visitor spot. And the company they use to tow (pollards) will DAMAGE your vehicle!!! How can you park in visitor spots if they're always full? Also they WILL NOT give out temp visitor passes! The policy parking policy is beyond rediculous! Not to mention pest issues... my fiance and I have seen mice, crickets, carpet beetles, and spiders because they DO NOT do preventative maintenance/ pest control like they should inside or out... they will only send someone if you call and even then they will only come on Thursdays! Our apartment flooded once and their maintenance department was very disrespectful to my finance when she reported it they came and literally ripped the carpet up leaving staples on the floor for people to step on and cracked base boards which they took a week and a half to fix. They have a vallet trash wich is another bill but theres a trash bag in the hallway that's been there since before we moved in! Also the people in the office are disrespectful, if they even answer the phone that is...
I moved in March 2020 and the leasing office staff were kind and courteous. When they showed us the staged unit, we were so impressed that we applied that day. We were told that our actual unit would have a coat closet, but it didn’t. No biggie, the unit was still beautiful. Other than the occasional cellar spider, we haven’t had any problems with insects or rodents of any kind. Although you can hear people walking around upstairs and talking while you are in the hallway, noise isn’t really a problem inside the unit unless you’re bothered by nature sounds which can be heard from the living room through the balcony door. The leasing office does forget to email back on occasion but after I call, they give me what I need. Overall, it’s a great place to live and I think I’ll be renewing my lease :)
Terrible. There are mice everywhere. Everyone I talked to that also stayed here had mice as well. Staff was rude and not helpful. Very thin walls you can hear all of your roommates AND neighbors (literally entire conversations word for word). They never notify you of work being done in the complex so be prepared to be woken up to loud machinery right outside of your window often. The staff are very inconsistent and they’re never on the same page. They will NOT give you your security deposit back no matter how good of a condition you left your apartment in. IF YOU COME HOME AFTER 11 GOOD LUCK FINDING A PARKING SPOT IN THE ENTIRE PARKING LOT EVEN THOUGH YOU LIVE THERE AND HAVE A PARKING PASS.
They used to be very good with customer service when you first rent the apartment until we already rent it and they do not care about you anymore! They never replied to any emails we send them even though it’s an important email and everyone was waiting for the apartment to reply to the email. They did not reply to the emails or questions we asked. I had to personally walk into their lease office (take off early to catch their office hours) and asked if they received the email. The lady in the front desk said yes, they received the email. They got our emails but took no action until I had to personally came and asked them directly. I thought the email got lost or never received. What is an unprofessional service! What if I’m not around and needed their support? People was not following the pickup trash rule, some put the trash can out at the hallway too early, sometimes they even put the trash can at the hallway on Friday and Saturday, but the courthouse square management did not do anything about that even though people complaint about it. I wish the courthouse square management takes customer’s questions, emails, and rule seriously! Parking was always full around September and October time and there are non-resident people parking but they do not do anything about it. Many residents had to park across the street. After so many complaints, they finally add couple parking lots. After 1-2 months successfully adding additional parking lots, they started to install the filterra system. It has been 1 month since they said they needed to install filterra system from June 24 to June 27, 2019. It is July 27, 2019 and the installation is never finished. I walked around the installation construction and rarely see people working there.

I could only live here for 1 year it was so bad. The leasing office is very rude and refused to help in anyway possible. They were also very disorganized and made a lot of mistakes. They even lost our first months rent money and then tried to fine us and evict us. We had to fight them for weeks until they admitted they made a mistake and fixed the problem. They lost all sorts of information from us and then tried to charge us fines, which took again weeks to resolve. It did not help that they never answer the phone. Our water also got turned off constantly with no warning at all. Whenever, we called to ask why they said they just kept saying emergency repair and gave us attitude. They turned the water off over a dozen times. We also had mice!!! After 5 months, they finally sent us an exterminator. Of course the mice came back, so again they would not help us. Just do not live here!!!

If you like noise, bad customer response time/service from the leasing office and maintenance, and faulty/dangerous appliances, then move here! If you want what you are paying for, then please look elsewhere. The only positive thing about this complex is the location convenience. I lived here in apartment building 66 and it was a nightmare. Walls were paper thin so you can hear absolutely everything, some that you would not want to hear, not to mention the loudness of people above you. So if you choose any place, pick a top floor in hopes you don't have as noisy neighbors. This was by far probably one of the leading reasons we moved. Hallways always had a funky smell also. I would have to say though, the leasing staff was the least helpful of everything we experienced. Once we moved in, there was 0 customer service or follow up. On the first night we lived there, we cooked a pizza, and the gas leaked causing the fire department to come and building to be evacuated. FIRST NIGHT. Oven was to be replaced and never was. We were advised to just use 3 out of the 4 burners (that had a hole in it). Note: this was outside of the leading cause of the gas leak UNDER the oven. Furthermore, we have been out of our place now for 46 days. We were supposed to receive our security deposit back WITHIN 45 days and have not received it, due to several run arounds from the leasing staff that don't seem to be on the same page with eachother. They 'supposedly' sent our deposit (as of today) to an address that was incorrect and certainly not what we gave them (which we have a copy of). Hopefully things will sort out and I didn't want to have to post this, but it's gotten a little too out of hand and beyond frustration at this point. 1 star.
Terrible place to live. Lived in 66 Acorn building for 1 year with my girlfriend. First night we moved in, we had a gas leak coming from our stove. Fire department came out and evacuated the entire building and requested that our stove get replaced. Courthouse just repairs the stove and does not repair the hole in the burner on the bottom left side. Maintenance insists we use only the 3 burners. Walls and floors are paper thin, you can hear EVERYTHING your neighbor is doing. Washer/Dryers break on occasion. Mid-way through the year our light switch in the bathroom breaks, put in maintenance request, didn't come out for 2 days and had to shower with a candle light. Place is not sealed well at all, very cold air leaks from maintenance door in bedroom and bugs because of it. List goes on and on. Lastly, GOOD LUCK on getting back your security deposit. I am currently still dealing with them since they haven't sent the check after the Maryland legal allotted time of 45 days. Upon calling them they claim they had the wrong forwarding address. I have a copy of the move out paper which clearly identifies a correct forwarding address. Only positive about this place is the location. 0 Stars, avoid this residency.
Ever since I moved into my apartment several months ago I have had numerous issues with the leasing office. When I toured the showroom apartment I fell in love and told Samantha, one of the women from the leasing office, that I would like to rent an apartment with the SAME EXACT layout and renovations as the showroom. She told me that there currently were not any apartments that had that layout with that level renovation, but said that if I waited 2 months they had an apartment that would be available. I agreed to wait those 2 month, and on move-in day I walked into an apartment that was the correct layout but not fully renovated. I discussed my concerns with the leasing office and was told that my apartment was what I had requested and that there was nothing that could be done. Although furious, I had already signed the lease and knew it was too late to do anything about it. Since moving in I have been overcharged for rent TWICE, and had mysterious "accidental" charges on my account that took hours of fighting with the leasing office to resolve. Management is untrustworthy and I cannot wait until my lease is up to be rid of this establishment for good (although I know they'll try and charge me absurd amounts of money for "damages" and "extra cleaning" once I move out)
Rooms are very spacious and the location couldn't be better if you want to be close to stores, bars, mall, restaurants and college. The rent is a little high for my liking but again i believe it has to do with the location. Also washer and dryer in unit could not be nicer. Pretty quite and no problems with bugs. If i had to change one thing i would like the air vent placement, it get very hot in the bedrooms even with the ac on and very cool only in the living room. Over all i would recomend these apartments if you can afford to live in the area.
Court House Square apartments is a nice community. We really enjoy living here!
The leasing office has been very helpful, albeit sometimes I have to call twice for maintenance or a few times until someone returns my call. They're always friendly and patient, though, which is much appreciated. I live in a 2 bedroom, 1 1/2 bath with an enclosed den. The rooms and closets are a good size, but the bathrooms are very dimly lit and appear dingy with all brown tile and wall colorings. I live in one of the older buildings, and although they are renovating, majority of apartments still resemble mine, so no in apartment washing machine or dryer. They do have a laundry room within each buiding which is nice, but adds up cost-wise. The kitchen is a good size, but has NO counter space, no microwave and hardly any outlets. It's extremely inconvenient, and frustrating! Really, the kitchen is too small to cook a decent sized meal without having to constantly move, clean-up and rearrange things. There is space for a dining room and living area, which is decently sized and my two roommates and I love hanging out in those areas! The walls are pretty thin though and so are the floors, so being on the second floor, there is a lot of noise from the upstair neighbors walking and moving around. The ceiling creaks and you can hear footsteps no matter where you are in the apartment. There is a lot of storage space though and a small balconey with sliding glass doors that really add a lot of natural light. For the price I pay with two other roommates, I think it's a good place while I finish school. The complex itself is clean and mostly quiet, even on the weekends. There's a playground with swings and a slide, which is a nice place if you have children. The complex also has a car washing station, which is great. The gym offered is pretty small and doesn't have any free weights, or much equipment at all. But the pool is really well kept, it has lots of seating and space and the pool itself is great. Overall, I think it's a nice place to live, I would definitely recommend asking for one of the renovated apartments, it has a lot of perks not offered in the older buildings. But for the price I pay with two roommates, it's a great place to live as I finish my graduate school.
1200 SF terrace apt that looks out onto a quiet wooded area and feels like my very own home. With a sparkling pool, tennis courts & walking trails for my pooch, life is easy. I have lived here for 8 years and plan on staying for many more.
