Uptown is where renters choose to live if they love entertainment. Throughout the neighborhood you’ll find everything from walking tours highlighting the hangouts of Chicago gangsters to the city's hottest nightclubs and theaters to the best shops and restaurants around. Uptown Chicago stretches along Lake Michigan and includes the popular summer hotspot Montrose Beach. For those moving to Chicago with a pet, Montrose Dog Beach is also a very popular destination. In winter, Cricket Hill is one of the city's favorite sledding spots.
What is it like to live in Uptown? It’s historic, walkable, and distinctive. Uptown is home to some fantastic landmarks, such as Aragon Ballroom. The ballroom opened in 1926, and legends about secret tunnels and Al Capone abound. During the Big Band era, the ballroom hosted some of the biggest names in music, including Glenn Miller, Lawrence Welk, Guy Lombardo, Benny Goodman, and Duke Ellington.

Property Ratings at Covington - 4600 N Clarendon Ave
been living here for almost 2 years place is great location to downtown and boystown. what makes this feel like home is that everyone greets each other. simon and edgar are truly amazing. any concerns. i had with my previous units they make sure it gets done and they take pride in helping there tenants. covington would be the same without them. concierge staff is nice especially barbara. she greets you with open arms . morissa our new P.M has truly showed how passionate she is . always on the run. very understanding.
The building has 3 elevators that are constantly breaking and getting people stuck in for 30+ minutes. If you want to get to work on time and not wait forever for elevators, do not move here. The concierge are nice, but the building manager does not know how to manage time properly and can only help by calling maintenance when you need.
Broken down elevators, washing machines and dryers. Elevators smell terrible. People don’t clean up after their pets. Took them less than one year to raise rent $150 despite there being no improvements to the property
The amenities in the apartments keep breaking down, I'm constantly having them fix stuff in the place, which defies the term 'luxury' they use to advertise their building. They also raised rent by over $500 with only a 20 day notice and they threatened to evict me over a false $15 charge. Yup, they don't care about your wellbeing in this building and will screw you over ALOT. -1/10 strongly don't recommend.
I had the worst experience of my life by living here. Worst staff, worst services, worst management. Don’t make a mistake of moving in here even if that is for a short while. They all are mean and rude and will make your life hell. Better live on streets than living here!
I moved in an apartment here in 2012 but I still have nightmares. I was shown a fabulous apartment that appeared clean and perfect. However, upon moving in I realized my apartment was infested with roaches. Infested! The manager, Darla, kept telling me it was because of a woman living upstairs from me. However, there was never a time while I lived there that I did NOT see roaches. Because I signed a lease, she wouldn't let me leave so I had to live there for a year. I moved out one month prior to my lease expiring and on the day the movers came, no one was at the gate to let us in. It was a horrible experience. I bought a ton of insect repellent, packed all of my belongings into plastic bags and sealed them to prevent transferring the roaches to my new home. I've never seen so many roaches in my life.
I lived in a one bedroom apartment in this building for a year and I have mixed feelings about it. Positives: the apartments itself are nice and spacious. The building manager changed during my stay and the replacement was incredibly nice and attentitive to our needs. Building maintenance solved concerns fast and properly. Most of the doormen were incredible friendly. Negatives: half way through our lease we started noticing bugs. The apartment acted fast with hiring a bug exterminator. They couldn't resolve the issue though because the bugs were coming from other apartments. They offered to move us up several floors which we jumped at the opportunity. The neighborhood the building is in has its issues. I'm a petite female and I lived with my boyfriend. I never felt comfortable walking down the street by myself. There was a lot of crime in the surrounding blocks and you could here ambulances from the hospital across the street. If you're solely looking for a nice apartment with great staff definitely look into this place, but if your interested in more of a nice neighborhood, then I would suggest looking else where.
I've lived here for just over a year, and I really like it! I live in a "junior 1 bedroom." The square footage isn't huge, but the space is bigger than I expected -- much bigger than a studio, and the large window makes it seem bright and open. The closet space is great! I have a large coat/storage closet in the entry hallway, a linen closet, and a large closet between the bathroom and bedroom. The storage space in the kitchen is also great! I haven't had any issues with appliances other than the dishwasher, which is a little weak and sometimes doesn't get everything totally clean. The apartment has really great water pressure. There's an A/C unit under the window that works well, and the heating is building controlled but always turned up high enough during the winter. There's also a heater in the bathroom to keep you toasty when you get out of the shower! I haven't had any issues with maintenance or anything like that in the year I've been here. The doormen are always friendly and let you know when you have packages, and the laundry room has a card system and usually isn't too busy, except on Sundays. I have a parking space in the secured lot, which I love!
The worker told me one price on the phone, and when I came to see the apartment, she jacked up the price of it but also jacked up the price for parking.
