Hillandale begins on the north side of Duke University and includes the Watts Hospital-Hillandale Historic District. This charming area dates back to 1908 and consists of arts and crafts style homes built in the early 1900s. The neighborhood follows Hillandale Road north to Horton Road. The Crossdaile Country Club is on the west side of the neighborhood. Hillandale is a wooded neighborhood filled with parks, hiking trails, and cozy streets lined with charming homes. Its small-town, rural feel belies its proximity to Downtown Durham, just minutes southeast.
Being so close to Duke University, residents have fast access to Duke University Hospital, Sarah P. Duke Gardens, Duke Forest, and the Nasher Museum of Art. On the south end of the neighborhood, the Shops at Erwin Mill is filled with popular shops, restaurants, cafes, and a Whole Foods Market.

Property Ratings at Creekside Landing
Creekside Landing is in good location & close to shopping & restaurants. I love their floor plans & covered porches. The apartments even have washer and dryer hook ups. I enjoyed my time here.
Attempted to apply w/limnitations for an apartment and co-sign for an individual and the office was nothing but rude, insensitive while stating they were attempting to help. Everything to be done online while no customer service. Asked for assistance the office provided none and being they are this rude I would not trust them in a rental agreement
If I could give it no stars I would. The "manager" jereisha acts as if she is so annoyed when I call or come up to ask about unit. She never gave calls back she even TRIED to disguise her voice when I called to say "she" was with another customer. The day she suppose to call she doesn't go up there she had my fiance standing in the rain relaying messages through someone else. All in all she is unprofessional and fake
Beware. There are at least 15 Crypt gang members living in the complex. My family was a victim of home invasion, trashed apt and pistol whipping. The management won't warn you.

Dear Anonymous, Thank you for sharing your concerns with us. We have looked into your allegations and have no knowledge of Crypt gang members living in the community. All resident lease holders go through criminal background screening prior to move in. Should you have specifics, please bring that information to us in the office and we will investigate it. Sincerely, Creekside Landing
This place is by far the worst place to live take your money somewhere else. I’ve had several incidents with them where they were very disrespectful and unprofessional. I’m pregnant and been without water for 4 days. They towed my car before the time and date it said on the sticker they put on my car. The community is full of trash they never clean up the community. There’s more than 6 stray cats roaming around. When you try to address a issue they kick you out of the rental office.

This is by far the most unprofessional place. The office manger Felicia is rude and doesn’t care about the residents. If you need Maintenance done in your home be prepared to wait 3 to 4 days even if it’s an emergency. I went 3 whole days without hot water a problem that they had created and the office lady told me there was nothing she could do about it at the time. She was so rude she didn’t even open the door to tell me that, she spoke with me through the shut glass door.
IT'S NOT WORTH IT. I USE TO LIVE AT THE LANDING AND ITS NOT WORTH IT THIS PLACE IS TRASH MAINTENANCE MAN SUCKS WORK ORDER NEVER GOT DONE RIGHT AND YOU CAN SMELL A STRONG ORDER OF MARIJUANA ON THE MAINTENANCE.
DO NOT rent from here. Office manager does not answer phone calls, the answering service does and will relay the message to them but she will not contact back. Took three months to get my toilet fixed. Office hours on website state 8:30am-5:30pm but they close the office whenever so trying to go up there is a challenge. Had a package delivered and signed for by the office on 02.08. Went to the office on 02.13 and they said there was no package there. Called all day 02.14 and got no response. Had to leave work early to go on 02.15 and the office was closed stating that they would reopen at 4:30. 4:30 came and went. Once the office finally reopened the package was there. When I questioned where the package was when I originally came up there, the office manager lied and said that my PROOF OF DELIVERY WAS WRONG. On top of lying, not answering calls, withholding/concealing mail not meant for you is illegal. The one star goes to the answering service. They are friendly.

Please contact your local carriers in Durham County for tips on receiving your packages and tracking information. Our office can only provide limited information concerning arrival. Thank you for your feedback. Sincerely, Bernadette Community Manager
IT'S NOT WORTH IT. HEADACHES GOING TO THE OFFICE, DON'T SOLVE YOUR ISSUES, COMPLEX IS ALWAYS TRASHED, NO MAINTENANCE CREW (EVERYONE HAS QUIT), CALLS AREN'T ANSWERED, PAYMENTS AREN'T APPLIED ON TIME, AND OFFICE USES ANY EXCUSE TO CLOSE. SAVE YOURSELF THE HASSLE AND GO ELSEWHERE. NEW MANAGEMENT HAS MADE ME DEEPLY DISLIKE THIS PLACE.

The landing apartments are one of the most safest communities in Durham. I fall asleep some nights and forget to lock the doors. No trouble around the area. The office managers are polite and easy to talk to. The maintenance workers joe and Eric are the best. You don't wait days or weeks to get something fixed. The sparkling swimming pool has been open everyday clean pretty water for these hot days we've had this summer. All the neighbors are nice respectful people. I love this apartment nice size rooms. Patio so peaceful to sit outside and enjoy the night air. You could not go wrong with the landing apartments

I have resided at my present complex for 12 yrs. Applied at the Landing and was turned down because of an eviction notice I knew nothing about until I applined at the Landing. The eviction notice was for 2008 and I have lived at Lakeside Gardens since 2003. I am an ex NurseBS RN and received a back injury in 2008 and had surgery. I have steffe plates and screws from middle back to between buttocks. My rent was late that one time because there is a policy for workman comp to start paying. I think office staff should use more common sense when reviewing an applicate for an unforseen complication they had no power over.
