Macomb is the proud home of Western Illinois University and a tight-knit community. Macomb began as a small railroad town in the early 19th century, and maintains an aura of old-world charm to this day. The historic downtown square is brimming with eclectic shops and eateries while Western Illinois University routinely hosts art gallery exhibitions and speaker series.
Macomb’s small-town feel is further accentuated by its strong sense of community. A wide variety of events brings the community together in Macomb, including game nights, movies in the park, parades, and festivals. Opportunities for outdoor recreation abound at Macomb’s local parks as well as nearby Argyle Lake State Park. Des Moines, Saint Louis, Milwaukee, and Chicago are all within a four-hour drive from Macomb, should you miss the bustle of city life.

Property Ratings at Creekside Park
This property is not well managed. The office is closed virtually all the time, and staff don't return calls or messages promptly. This wasn't the case when I 1st moved in, but it seems to have become a recent development in the past few months. My friend told me about it because she was trying to keep in contact with the management and discovered that nobody was there whenever she went, and nobody was returning her calls. The same thing happened to me, too, when I tried to pay my rent online and couldn't. Theonline system that takes rent payment no longer works as of at least the past week. Just this past week my friend and I tried to pay our rents using the system and our sign-ons were rejected and not recognized. We hardly ever had access to the pool or the fitness center in the office building. They had a monitor who was available for people who wanted to use the pool after business hours, but when they quit, they were not replaced. Instead, they changed the available hours to the time the office was open office was open, which used to be from 10 AM to 6 PM. However, they change the office hours to end at 5 PM, so people couldn't use the pool after work at all. Eventually people stopped going to the pool because the only time they could use it, it was not available for them.
I went to look for a three bedroom here. Online states that there is apartments available Now for two and three bedrooms. I told the manager that I was looking for a three bedroom. She said she had some available. She showed me a two bedroom apartment but said she would have a three bedroom. I paid for the application fee and turned in my app. I then called a week later and she never started the app and there are no apartments available! She refused to give my application fee back after she said she hadn’t even started it because there is no apartments available. Poor communication from management and a complete waste of time and money I paid for application fee knowing there was no apartments. She never even mentioned that there was a waiting list. She said she would have one available. That’s the only reason I paid for the application fee.
Small, cramped, and uncomfortable I have a one year old baby and he has stuff everywhere as all kids do. But he doesn't even have his own room causing the problem to be worse.
