The Financial District sits at the tip of Lower Manhattan. It is the oldest part of New York City – the city was created here in 1624. Known as the world’s center of finance, the district is home to the largest stock exchange in the world, the New York Stock Exchange. Sometimes referred to as FiDi, the district contains a variety of high-end restaurants and bars along Wall Street, popular hangouts for those working at the exchange.
Many landmarks are in the Financial District, including One World Trade Center, The National 9/11 Memorial and Museum, the Ellis Island National Immigration Museum, the Castle Clinton National Monument, and Battery Park. National Historic Sites include St. Paul’s Chapel, founded in 1766 and visited by George Washington after his inauguration in 1789. Stone Street, one of New York’s oldest streets, is a historic district, first paved in 1658.
Because so much is happening in the Financial District, it is packed with residents, workers, and tourists.

Property Ratings at Crest Lofts
I picked this apartment for the large windows in our unit (though there isn't much direct sunlight), and the gym. The other amenities are fun things to have, but the gym was my main interest. Equipment-wise, it's got everything (most of the time, though two of three pelotons have been missing for a while). My biggest gripe is the sanitation in the gym, since I've been seen soap in the bathroom, toilet paper is missing 90% of the time so the kind leasing office lets me use their bathroom, and cleaning wipes are hard to come by especially on the upper level. I've recommended this apartment to friends despite this, since leasing is easy and pets are allowed, plus 63/67 is in a very convenient location to trains. It does feel like a college dorm, but I luckily do not live near noisy people.
I would be cautious of getting one's commission upon move in and the lack of communication between leasing and management.
I love the location and the amenities. The building is absolutely stunning.
The building staff is great, especially doorman and maintenance. The other tenants are less desirable.
Most of the people I know are students that cannot afford such high monthly rent.
The building was beautiful and had many amenities but the apartments were very small and overpriced.
Nice leasing consultant cool little bar and a good gym
Some of the apartment was clearly designed too quickly - dryer takes 3 hours minimum to complete, closets are designed inefficiently, cable connectivity required new holes to be drilled
It does seem like there is some issues - broken elevator, the gas going out.. for what I am paying I expect a little more.
I think the apartment itself had great management. Everyone who worked there was always fast, easy, and responsive. If it were somewhere else in the city, I'd recommend, although I wouldn't live in the Financial District again.
One complaint is the purpose of living in a doorman building is to filter gusts and diliveries. At least by calling/notifying someone is there for me before sending them up. This has not been the case since move in. I have noticed deliveries and other guests which I have not provided on building link seem to always come straight up to my apt without my knowledge of them being there. Doorman do a great job and are all extremely friendly but they should contact me when a delivery is there in case I am not there or it is not for me.
I absolutely hate the management here. I have never worked with such incompetent individuals. We were assessed a $200 fee in our monthly rent. When we inquired about the fee, management failed to provide any evidence that were were advised of this fee in advance. They promised multiple times in person and over email to remove it, but it was never removed. Every month for the past 6 months we fight with them over this payment, but they continue to break promises and charge it. Additionally, one month we were assessed an electric bill more than $150 greater than our highest payment. When we inquired about the charge, not only could they not explain it, but they would not lower it. DO NOT LIVE HERE!
Look out! I am living at the 67 Wall Street and There is no amenities: NONE! When I visited the apartment, the leasing office told me that I will have access to the laundry room, rooftop, gym, bike garage in my building... I am in the building since 9 month and nothing... Otherwise, You have to go to the 63 for all of the amenities and you have to pay $15/month if you want to have access to the rooftop and other shared space, $30/month if you want to access to the gym/fitness and you have to pay when you want to use the laundry machines. There are a lot of issues: elevators, water... The management is not communicating really well on what is going on... And I also had issues on invoices and I struggled to get my lease contract... I do not recommend this building! For the price you can find something so much better!
I have lived in 63 and 67 Wall Street collectively for 10 years. I used to be proud to call it home. New management has come in, is tearing up the building and lying about the timelines. Unless you want to live in a construction site, with broken elevators, no gym, no hot water half the time and loud noises all day, do not move in here until at least 2020. The apartments are pretty, but the living conditions are just not worth it at this point.
I moved out of the building over a month ago and still have not received my check. The excuse is that since management companies have recently switched, they need proof of payment for a random month – October. I showed official bank statements that indicate the payment was processed, signed and certified. The building left me waiting for two weeks (after multiple weeks of back and forth). They cannot provide any documentation that they did NOT receive payment. It makes me think that there is some shady business going on.
You tell most New Yorkers you live in the Financial District and they scoff. "Why?" "FiDi is dead at night." "Suits!" When people say this to me, I just smile and nod. "I know. I'm so crazy..." Ha. Jokes on them. I have lived in 67 Wall Street for more than 4 years and I love it. I have a somewhat spacious (by NY standards), somewhat affordable (by NY standards), luxury, doorman building; a true 2 bedroom apartment literally minutes from the 2/3, 4/5, R and A/C/E trains. Crest Lofts has been my home and honestly I haven't minded keeping it my little secret... until now. Of course, no place is perfect. I'll do my best to present the pros and cons. Pros: The building Staff is great. Friendly people who care about the tenants and always have a smile on their face. Amenities are also top notch. Spacious (I mean SPACIOUS) common area with pool table, poker table, TVs and plenty of seating. Air conditioned and free, reliable wifi in common areas. Great Gym, home theater, dry cleaning in the building and a terrace for rooftop like access. The tenants are also very nice. I get along with all the neighbors and people are generally respectful. Cons: Management hasn't always been so great. Lack of communication is my biggest gripe. The elevators have basically never worked since I moved in and it's been a nightmare living on one of the top floors. Past management did a very poor job of communicating these issues among other things. The Elevator situation got so bad there's Facebook groups dedicated to it. I still can't believe the WTC building was constructed before my very eyes these last four years and we only just recently got working elevators again. The elevators and past management issues is my main reason for only giving 4 stars. I decided to overlook the management issues in my decision to extend my lease. Not everything is perfect and I feel like the good outweighed the bad. I've heard from newer tenants that rent has dramatically increased (possibly due to the influx of families with children). I'm personally glad I got in during the downturn and that rents haven't increased as much as people say. Like I said, I've always felt proud of living in FiDi. Where it's definitely NOT dead. My experience at 67 Wall has been worth it.
