Property Ratings at Crestwood Apartments
My husband and I moved into Crestwood right after we got engaged. The rent was cheap and the apartments are safe, so it was a good way for us to save up and plan for our wedding. We ended up staying a bit after the wedding too and only moved out when we decided to start trying for a baby. We were there for over 2 years. The landlord is super sweet and accommodating. Maintenance is great as well. We had a few minor things that needed fixing our first couple of weeks there, and everything was taken care of for us. There are 2 reasons I am not giving 5 stars. The first reason is the snow removal. The company that comes in to remove the snow is just terrible. Sometimes they won't show up for several days after a storm, so your car is stuck in sometimes feet of snow. Also the neighbors lose their minds when the plow guys get there for some reason. The drivers are supposed to drive through the lot and honk their horns to let everyone know to start cleaning off their cars, but some neighbors will start banging on doors and yelling at their fellow tenants to come outside and move their car. It was not cool. The second reason was that our move out process was made very stressful. We were a few days late on giving a move out notice so we had rights to the apartment a full month longer that we anticipated (we moved out end of one month, but paid for the next month). Definitely our fault for not knowing the procedure that was in our lease. The landlord contacted us halfway through that last month demanding our keys, saying that if we hung onto it he wasn't able to make money from a new tenant. My husband pleasantly reminded him that he had instructed us to hold onto the keys, and that we had paid for this month so we had every right to hold onto them until the last day if we wanted to. The landlord was very understanding and apologetic at that point. I believe that there was just a misunderstanding somewhere in the process, but it was still a bit disheartening. All in all, Crestwood was a very nice place to live. The apartments are small, but it's very easy to make them cozy!
