Situated in western New York on the cusp of Lake Ontario, Rochester holds the title of the state’s third most populous city. Touting a distinct blend of history and innovation, Rochester is filled with historic buildings turned modern lofts and apartments. The University of Rochester as well as Rochester Institute of Technology both contain leading research programs, lending to the city’s educated workforce and prospering future. Prominent figures like Susan B. Anthony and Frederick Douglass once called Rochester home.
Even though it’s a fairly large city, Rochester still holds a small-town vibe. Rochester offers several community events that are widely attended, including the Lilac Festival and the Rochester International Jazz Festival.
The Strong Museum, Memorial Art Gallery, and the George Eastman Museum all feature special exhibits that inspire curiosity. Scenic views await at Highland Park, and residents adore their day trips to the Seneca Park Zoo and Seabreeze Amusement Park.

Property Ratings at Brighton Village
Had roaches, mice and bees. When we complained about the roaches they said they would move us into a roach free unit (we’d been there 4 days) but it would be an extra $100 per month, they didn’t tell us about the roaches and tried to lie about even having roaches. Our second unit wasn’t finished in time and when they did give it to us it wasn’t clean, the heat didn’t work, the dryer was broken, the floor had a 2.5” gap in the wood planks, wall paint chipping and cupboards falling off. Neighbors are loud (yelling, screaming, partying on weekdays, running laundry at 12am even though you cannot (states in lease) due to how loud they are, moving furniture, slamming doors). Neighbors walking up to first floor windows and looking in. Dog poop everywhere…there was a bag outside my window from March to June (current), no one in my building had a dog. Pool seldom open, gym equipment always broken.
These apartments are not luxury apartments. Yes, they do have some features that have been updated. But overall, they are overpriced and not worth the money. You can hear EVERYTHING your neighbors do. You get to hear them stomp, yell, and talk all day long! They also allow dogs, so you get to listen to dogs bark! The pool is rarely open and the gym is tiny. They also haven’t updated their basements, laundry facilities, outside of the apartments etc. They also haven’t remodeled all their units, so you have a mix of luxury tenants and non luxury tenants. Save your money, don’t move in here
First off, these apartments are overpriced and the "remodeled" aspect means nothing. They are mice and bug infested. Services come twice a month. Never any parking spots in front of your building and maintence enters as they please with no notice.
Brighton village was perfect for my husband and I. It was quiet and the residents were all friendly. It was safe; I felt comfortable running alone in the complex. It's near to a lot of stores, but tucked safely away from the noise. As I work from home, the quiet was appreciated. Al from maintenance and Brad from management were phenomenal. Although I will say we never had any maintenance issues so we only met Al on move in day. There was always plenty of parking, the apartment was nice and clean, we never lost any mail or packages, the amenities were nice, but the best part was having a storage space in the basement! That will be missed. Before we moved in, I read a review about how they don't give the full security deposit back, but I can happily say that is not true! The only reason we left is because we had to relocate for my husband's new job. Wish we could've stayed!
I recently moved into a apartment here and love it! The property manager Nikki is always extremely helpful and nice! I would definitely recommend this place to any of my friends or family especially for the price and location. :)
The management doesn't want to work. Nikki is a very insensitive property manager and is beyond reason. If you put a work order they complete it after 6 months. Extremely horrible. The previous management was better and that is something I thought I would never say.
If you're anticipating getting your FULL security deposit back, look elsewhere. I had to CONSTANTLY call regarding when I should be receiving my security deposit back as it reached the 5 week mark. I then get the letter, dated 10/02/2019, and the check dated 10/28/2019 indicating that $170 was deducted from my original deposit amount for "vacuuming and shampooing of the rugs and cleaning the shower and tub", WHEN I MADE SURE THE APARTMENT WAS CLEANED AND SPOTLESS before I left. I even took pictures AND a video as no one was able to do the final walkthrough with me. The property manager Nikki is extremely unprofessional and rude. You ask a question and her line is "I'm not going to argue with you, you can take us to court". Clearly being a property manager was NOT her dream job because she is sucking at it HARD!. Please save your time, energy and money moving here. PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!
The best apartments in Henrietta! Safe, clean and great rates!
Been here for 4 months and love it! Very spacious apartment for a good price and the staff is awesome!
Crittenden Way Apartments has been my home for over twelve years and I'm very happy here. I live in a bright, spacious one bedroom with plenty of closet space and storage in the basement. Outside, there's lots of greenery and trees, including ornamental pears that are absolutely gorgeous when they bloom in spring! Enjoy the pool in summer and the availability of exercise equipment, year round. People in the office are timely and responsive to my questions and requests. Maintenance workers are capable and appropriately friendly. I absolutely love my neighbors and enjoy that Crittenden Way is a diverse community – families, singles, seniors, professionals and also students from around the world. Location is excellent! Expressway is conveniently close by, as are Movies10, Wegmans, Walmart and many other stores and restaurants. RIT, UR and MCC are all a short drive or bus ride away. In the other direction, the LeHigh Valley Trail is less than five minutes by bicycle; the Erie Canal Path and Genesee Valley Park, about ten minutes. Lots of year-round opportunities to see wildlife and explore the outdoors. This is home for me!
Really amazing place since they were bought out and got rid of the trash that made it horrible...been here since may 2017 and everything is awesome staff is good apt is good they will work with you on what you need. Nice and quiet...very impressed
Moved here last October and I absolutely love it here. My apartment is so big, I honestly feel like I need to buy more furniture to fill the space. Parking is great and I love the layout of the buildings. There are beautiful trees everywhere and space for my daughter to run around in the outside.
I moved into Crittenden Way apartments in the fall of 2014. I have had very few issues since Ive been here and anytime I have they were taken care of quickly. The maintenance staff is very helpful and the girls I deal with in the office are always friendly. I love that they have on call maintenance so in case of an emergency I can get issues resolved after office hours and on the weekends if needed. My apartment is spacious for a one bedroom and love the location of the complex very close to the mall, restaurants, and grocery stores. I would recommend these apartments, and already have!
