Property Ratings at Cross Creek Apartments
The unit had wear and tear, rodents (snakes and mice) surrounded the townhomes side. Outside siding not update on the far end. Air filter always nasty, ceiling leaks and major water damage that patched up. However as a tenant for three years maintain by sweeping the unit every day outside, clean the gutters after complaining several times to property manager.

I was so excited to move in to Cross Creek after I graduated college and officially starting teaching in the Chesterfield area. For the most part my experience there was good. The maintenance staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. I always felt comfortable welcoming them into my home, and they are quite frankly the only reason I would give this complex a 2 out of 5 stars. At the beginning of May we notified the apartment complex of our plan to move out at the end of August, due to a desire for more space and a change of location. I turned in a letter to the front office right around the same time the normal office manager was out of office due to knee surgery. However, the assistant manager was there to take her place in the meantime. After dropping off the letter, I notified the new apartment complex I was applying for. They requested that Cross Creek fill out a renters history verification and the assistant manager promptly filled out the form and faxed it back to my new complex. (The date on the fax time stamp matches that of my 60 day notice letter by the way.) On this renters verification it even states the exact date of our move out and that proper notice WAS given to Cross Creek. However, now Cross Creek is claiming that we never gave them a 60 day notice and their manager even stated that they never filled out any renters history verification. After I sent them the copy I had of my renters verification, the manager denied any responsibility and they are still trying to charge me for an additional 2 months rent. Not to mention... they are also trying to charge me for a “bed bug infestation” and cleaning treatment. There was absolutely no evidence of bed bugs when we moved out or in our new apartment (which has the same furniture). My husband and I called up to the front office to check on the status of our move-out after dropping off the letter, and were assured by the assistant manager we would be out by the end of our lease. It is not my responsibility to file the paperwork correctly in their front office. It is also not my fault that the assistant manager dropped the ball and forgot to file the final move out paper work. However, the manager at Cross Creek is claiming that it is somehow my responsibility to keep up to date with this paperwork. This has put a huge burden on me and my family. As an elementary school teacher, I cannot afford to pay these outlandish additional fees for something I was not responsible for.
This complex is a gorgeous community within minutes from metro Richmond, VA. The grounds are filled with trees and manicured lawns. I don't believe I've lived in a community where it's clean, quiet and the staff is really nice. Plenty of ample parking and school bus stop within walking distance for my two children. They also have two parks, bark park, pool and gym as well. My only concern would be for the gym to have updated equipment and updated restrooms to match the updated kitchens. Besides that, it's great!

Cross Creek is an up to date, friendly, family oriented, and safe community. The office and maintainence staff are always willing to do whatever is necessary to make sure the tenants are well taken care of. I highly recommend Cross Creek to anyone looking for apartment living at it's best.

This is a nice community with a very friendly office and maintenance staff. They know your name and provide help in anyway they can regarding various issues should you come across one. The area is very convenient and close to parks, gyms, restaurants, and grocery stores.
