Property Ratings at Cross Lake Apartments
I am thankful for my apartment. I was relocating to Evansville, had contacted many apartments. Chelsa helped me along the way and much appreciated all the staff. Donnie is always helping and right on top of things that need to be fixed. Not every apartments can be perfect, i have been here 7 months sleep well at night. Thank you!
Do not give these people your time or money! The staff are rude and completely negligent. The units are severely outdated and the price of rent and fees are extremely overpriced!!
We moved into Crosslake apartments about a month ago so I can't speak to all of the reviews before now with previous staff and owners. I can, however, speak in current status which is what everyone is looking for right?! The staff has been very helpful from the beginning, from pre-move in questions and showings, to current resident questions. The ladies in the office are all very sweet and I can't imagine anyone ever having an issue having respect reciprocated. Noone deserves to be treated with disrespect, so if that's what you give, that's what you deserve back. That's just how some people are, ya know. Now, as for the apartments. The apartment we chose had been occupied by the previous tenants for the last 5 years. Before we were to move in, they came in and not only cleaned it top to bottom, but repainted every wall, replaced every inch of flooring, and ensured that we had a beautiful, newly updated home to move in to. Above and beyond in every area. Are they brand new? No, but we also aren't paying for granite countertops and designer fixtures. As for the grounds and other tenants, it's so quiet here. We are located right in the middle of everything and just off 69, but it is so relaxing here. The grounds are well kept by the maintenance team and any issues are immediately addressed. The tenants have all been very nice and give a friendly wave as they pass by. Loads of people have dogs out here and we will chat a quick minute while walking dogs around the complex. On that note, all dog owners I've seen have cleaned up after their pets. They have bags and cans all around the grounds for easy cleanup and we've never had any issue with other owners or dogs. Everyone is respectful of space and property here. We have only been here a month, but as a homeschooling momma to 3 teens, we are here all. the. time. We would have heard if there were issues. We have already spent more time here in a month than most would in a year so take our words to heart. These apartments are updated, clean, and well cared for by the maintenance team. The office ladies are more than happy to help in any way they can as well. They all go above and beyond and take pride in their jobs here. Many, if not all, of them are tenants here themselves so it's more than a job to them. It's their home too!
It's shocking how much this apartment community has gone downhill. Don't plan to sleep if you move here. Some of the new tenants blare music at all hours. The ladies in the office couldn't care less. IF YOU VALUE YOUR SLEEP, DO NOT MOVE TO CROSS LAKE APARTMENTS! The apartments themselves are fine, until you have a problem. Plan to call repeatedly and leave multiple voicemails. You'll probably have to to end up calling corporate. Half a dozen maintenance staff have quit or been fired in less than two years - need I say more? -Sleepless Resident
I know, I know... just another bitter resident trying to get back at the complex comment you've seen over and over. I've been there, when searching for this complex exactly. And I was thinking exactly what you are. However, I assure you this is not the case. I beg of you, whatever you do, do not live here! You will regret it unless you are one of the few lucky ones that don't have issues which is becoming a rarity from what other residents are communicating with me. The apartments are fantastic but that's the end of the line. The property manager and her team do not care about residents at all and it's only gotten worse the longer I've lived here. They will never call you back if you leave a voicemail, will never call you back if you call and speak with them regarding any issue, you will continuously have to follow up with them. Have a major problem? Good luck! Loss of personal property due to management decisions? No reimbursement, apology, nothing. All the girls that work here are liars. They will lie straight to your face and say the exact opposite months down the line and act like you are an idiot. But if for some reason you are idiotic enough to "give it a try," record EVERY SINGLE CONVERSATION. I truly mean that.

When I was first shown an apartment by Emily, I was shown a gorgeous open plan, hard wood floors, patio- PERFECT! It was a 2 bed 2 bath. I signed up immediately because she said the one we would get would be just like it. Well it isn’t. Carpeting, very closed in plan, our floors in the bathrooms are horrible because our FIRST NIGHT our washer, disherwasher, and ice maker all flooded the apartment!!! We had water EVERYWHERE. We have a son so we immediately were trying to find a number to call, but couldn’t even find a number on the lease for maintenance. I had to call a ton of people trying to figure it out! Then, they told me that they weren’t concerned about mold so they took 2-3 days to send somebody to cry the carpet and said it was fine. We had water coming up the floors in the bathroom and kitchen for weeks! Our windows leak- which has been “fixed” and had a horrible mice infestation! I called and called trying to get somebody to come out to look but we ended up having. To do it all ourselves and killed TWELVE MICE IN ONE WEEK!!! We signed up for a garage- DONT. It’s $75/mo not $50, and the walls are covered in styrofoam and it’s not kept up at all! I complained bc there were holes all in it, half of it was carpeted and just looked disgusting. I got a snotty response and sent away. Our dryer also doesn’t work anymore so I’ve been trying to get that fixed for two weeks now!! DONT LIVE HERE.
Love the residents and also the staff. Beautiful apartments with lvt flooring and master ensuite. Love!
When I moved in this place, there was already an issue with the neighbor below us. Every time I would even drop my phone, the guy would bang on the ceiling or start yelling at us to come out side. This was an every day thing. To make it worse when we complained to the management about this guy they just dismissed us and almost seemed as if they took the crazy guys side. My last straw was when we called the maintenance late at night because we saw mice in the vents, the guy came and informed us that there was a mice problem and that some lady just saw 3 in her living room. Escalating this to the management we were told that "there was no mice problem and the guy made that up". After that there was just more mice and more attitude from the insane staff. DO NOT MOVE HERE PLEASE THEY DON'T CARE.
After doing research I have found that Cross Lake apartments has the most to offer and is equipped with my taste. Now I did have some concerns reading a few reviews, but the ladies in the office quickly answered them. I have been here for a year and will definitely sign another term once my lease is complete. The staff are super nice and the grounds have gotten a lot better. I love how they are offering more and more things to do for the community. I do wish there were more resident events. However, I would like to say is. "Keep up the great work"!

Thank you! I am very glad you have and or are having a great experience with us. Please let us know how we can take it to the next step! Thanks MGMT!
I was late on my rent they send my two letters in 3 days. Heavy pricing for late fees I am okay with paying. I have to pay for water now which is suppose to be a part of rent because lease is up. Fitness center is crap. Ants, mice and spiters are bad. When pest control sprays it gets worse. Attitudes from staff who stock you when you live across from the office. Try for an apartment away from the office. After your lease is up they are incredibly rude.

I am sorry to hear the issues you are having. With it dealing with rent, we ask that you you be in a payment arrangement by the 1st of the month to avoid further charges. We are looking to upgrade a few things in the fitness center the up coming year! Stay tuned! =) We can have pest control come in to your home and help get matters resolved with any pest problems you may have had. I am terribly sorry about the tones, and or moods that was experienced. I can assure you we will correct these matters! Thanks you, MGMT
The apartment my daughter rented this year was so dirty and disgusting but she took it over the phone.didnt see it first. We were from michigan. this was in March, it took me seven days to clean . I went back to Mi. she called in july and told me she cant get rid of fleas there all over the dog . being so hot down there the fleas came from the other tenents that lived there its the second time she spent money on getting rid of flies.. Do not move here you have to do your own cleaning.. and they are dirty.
The location was the first reason I checked this place out. It's right in the heart of the constantly-growing east side with a lot of shopping and food everywhere. Lots of places to walk my dog and see the lake, which the apartment complex surrounds. Quiet neighborhood and friendly neighbors was a nice surprise. My apartment itself is nice and bright, with a ton of storage.
