Three small, upper-middle-class neighborhoods, Middletown, Woodland Hills and Douglass Hills, and Anchorage, an upper-class community, make up the Outer East End of Louisville. Each community features a mixture of newer, more elaborate homes that mingle nicely with some of the historic architecture in the area. However, the homes in Anchorage remain the most elaborate in the area. Wide-open, undeveloped areas provide residents with beautiful scenic views, and nearby access to U.S. Route 60 and interstates 64 and 265 make the 18-mile commute into downtown Louisville simple.

Property Ratings at Crowne at the Summit
Absolute garbage. That is the consensus among all the tenants I knew there and still do. This is a C- property. I would highly discourage you living there, and would never recommend. It has been going downhill and is now there. The amenities rarely work or are satisfactory, usually dirty, unable to get in broken gates and doors, pool is gross and unclean, exercise room usually has no cups or water and air is rarely on, rusted areas, broken steps and concrete in my building and all over the place, full of bugs, mice in the garages, bird and wasp nests everywhere in the buildings, not very updated for the price paid.Dumpsters overflowing and not working, stinks everywhere. Internet bandwidth seems to be spotty. ‘Dog park’ is hilarious. While I rarely ever asked for any maintenance, there were constant toilet and garbage disposal issues, which were never replaced, just ‘fixed’ a handful of times. Good location, but not worth it. The new staff is extremely impersonable and rude and uninterested. It’s embarrassing to watch and atrocious, even to older residents. Even the staff that live there have moved away. After living there almost 9 years, never missing a payment or asking for any updates or anything, being a profitable tenant, through the pandemic, etc., they still treated me terribly and asked me for more money upon moveout, even though they’ll need to make updates and I left it in very good shape. Would not recommend. 1/10. Stay away, it is not a good place to live. You’ve been warned. It is a complete and total money grab. So many other better options with much more value.

I love these apartments because it has a onsite laundry room which make it so easy to access all through out the day. You also get a outdoor pool for all your family and friends to enjoy while visiting or even if its just you. The management and staff are great they are always quick and easy to get with and to help any way they can. The properties are always very clean and kept up to date with everything that is needed. For my stay here I would differently tell anyone looking for an apartment to come stay and enjoy the little community it has to offer.

I've been here since July 2017 & hope to be here for a long time. Any time I've had a maintenance or office need, it has been promptly taken care of & staff have been professional, courteous & friendly. There are activities for residents every month. I love the layout & finishes in my apartment. It meets all my needs. I am blessed with having very good neighbors in my building. I've met several lovely people in the community. Yes, there are dogs & you will have dog owners who do not pick up their dog's poop & you will find that everywhere you go but for the most part, they clean up after their dogs. Staff work to maintain & update the interiors & exteriors of the complex. The grounds are maintained very nicely. We have an on-site courtesy officer for problems that may arise when the office is closed. The location makes it easy to get anywhere. Yes, there is a lot of traffic but that's how it is in Louisville. No one can control that or the bad drivers. I don't know where that alleged "drive by shooting" mentioned in another review occurred or where the alleged drug dealers mentioned in that same review lived & all I can say is I have not heard anything about that type of activity in this complex. I hope that person found someplace they are happy with. I've certainly found mine! The rates are comparable to other complexes with similar amenities & apartment sizes. I have not been prompted to write this review or asked to write it. I am not employed or have any relatives or friends who work for this complex. It's just my experience living here.

After living here for almost a year I can't imagine finding a more convenient place to spend the next few years. Nice neighbors, quite and great staff. I love my layout as it's perfect for my lifestyle. I like cooking and the floorplan let's me spend time in the kitchen without being isolated from friends and guests. Plenty of space for walking my dog and everybody seems pet friendly. Highly recommended for anybody wanting easy access to what I've found to be the best side of Louisville.

We lived at the Crowne for 7 months while waiting for our next place to be built and were very happy with the experience. We had a 2B/2BA corner apartment - such great light. The bathrooms are huge! The Master bath includes a very large closet behind double doors. It's not a walk-in, but provides an incredible amount of multi-level hanging space. With a corner unit, the Master bedroom also has a small walk-in closet on the outside wall (this takes the space of a storage closet on the balcony, but to us it was much more usable). The Master bath counter space is also large and our tub and tub deck were so roomy that it felt like a walk-in shower. The guest bath is large enough to have a piece of furniture in it if you like! Had a cupboard over the toilet in addition to large space under the vanity, so there was plenty of storage already. The 2nd bedroom closet was more spacious than expected, as well. Both bedrooms large enough for king beds. Maintenance was timely and friendly. Our first day there our AC froze up and Andrew was there within an hour and was able to fix it temporarily. He said it needed to be replaced and so he called right then to put in an order. By the time I returned from the grocery the next morning, the HVAC was already installed and being checked. One other time I reported a small leak under the kitchen sink and they were there quickly to fix it. Very happy with the maintenance! The pool was very nice and the gym was plenty adequate for what I needed. The management also offered lots of community events and I was always impressed how they remembered everyone's names. The landscapers do a great job keeping the grounds attractive. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 for overall rating is because of some of the dated finishes. The bath and kitchen countertops were a pebbled laminate and the fridge was one of the freezer on top versions. The bathtub, while roomy, was starting to chip. The carpet was rather low-grade, but maybe this unit hadn't been updated yet. However, for the price, this apartment provided lots of light and space that newer apartment communities we toured don't offer. Its proximity to the Paddock Shops and restaurants was ideal - a 10 minute walk at most, and easy access to downtown routes. Many thanks to everyone in the front office and the maintenance crew for making our stay there a great one.

Check your air conditioning and hot water tank before moving in. I had to pay over $2800.00 to break my lease do to mold. Spoke to manager she told me there was nothing she could do for me and my family. Office staff is rude. Grounds are dirty. Dog poop everywhere. Drive by shootings, drug dealers live here. My wife and I reported drug dealing to office. Nothing was done. I am moving End of March. I found a new apartment much cheaper better location. The pool was closed more than it was opened in the summer. Bathrooms are so dirty. Hallways are disgusting. Keep looking, you will find a much better place for the money. They try to sale location. Traffic is horrible

Don’t rent here unless you willing to pay $330 for electric each month! The windows are bad and your heat will run 24/7. And you will still have to dress in sweatshirts, socks, slippers and use blankets.
