Property Ratings at 211 Crystal Cove Apts LLC
The location is nice but ready to pay a HUGE price for it and your view isn't guaranteed. When I moved into my marina facing apartment with the price to match, my neighbors blocked my view with a huge light blue seattle seahawks flag. It took me 4 months of constant complaints to management for them to finally get my neighbors to take it down. Peace and quiet you say? Wrong! The walls are thin and the bass and reverberation of the walls you'll hear from your neighbors will result in a permanent migraine. What's worse? When you ask management to resolve the noise issue and ask that your neighbor reduce the bass, the only crickets you'll be hearing is from them. So not worth it. I have lived at Crystal Cove now for over two years in two different units. The location is ocean front as in right on the beach on the border of Hermosa and Redondo Beach right above the Chart House restaurant. The location could be better as it is inconvenient to the rest of LA/OC and even the South Bay, but for beach living it is above average. The real problem lies in the upkeep of the property and the management practices. The common areas smell badly, the carpets are dirty, the walls are damaged and the restaurant below creates awful smells. It's not a building I feel proud to have guests come to visit. There are great ocean views however the beach is badly polluted with tar spots everywhere from petroleum as well as garbage and it's common to see dead sea lions washed up on shore (not to mention homeless people sleeping on the beach). The interiors of the units are for the most part modern and the maintenance staff is responsive if you have issues in your apartment (given the rest of the problems with the building, I wouldn't expect the staff to stick around). Outside of that however, the management is awful. You can expect rent increases of 25% at any time without warning and the lack of concern for tenants is disturbing. Noise at all hours of the day is common whether it be loud music, pounding on walls and ceilings, kids screaming or dogs barking. The weirdest part is that it is very common for fire alarms to go off for no reason all day long and nothing to be done about it. Not to mention parking or the complete lack of it. There is no where for guests to park and it's not uncommon to have some random car parked in your spot. I would not recommend renting and living at the Crystal Cove. There are far better values in the South Bay with more convenient locations and higher living standards.
No other apartment complex in the west coast can parallel the proximity to the surf or the redondo/Hermosa Beach sand; named 1 out of the 10 beaches in the United States by the Travel Channel and Coastal Living Magazine. Take an early stroll along our private beach or simply relax in the comfort and luxury of my own private ocean front balcony with front row seats to the breathtaking views of Southern California's unique sunsets. It is so amazing to live here!
