Property Ratings at Custer Park
I've lived her for 15 years! never had an issue and if I did it gets fixed right way! maintenance is on top of it. If an Issue does occur it gets fixed the same day or the next day! As far as "Bug Problem" Never had an issue, People who claim to have them either doesn't take advantage of the free pest control offered or just simply not clan people simple as that. Over all ABSOLUTELY AMAZING Management, Maintenance, and Community!
Bugs, foundation problems (a lot of bad cracks, doors don’t shut properly), A/C never keeps up in the summer (currently sitting in an 80 degree apartment even though maintenance has come out for this 3 times in the last week), maintenance regularly completes service requests without actually fixing anything.
Management is very very rude. Quality of work by new management is degraded, A LOT.
I like our apartment layout, and things are in good shape. Note: another apartment I looked at before I moved in (years ago) wasn't in as good of shape, so you may need to be discriminating. The apartments are older, and I've had some electrical and plumbing issues, but the staff is quite responsive via a great on-line ticket system. I have had to call them out multiple times sometimes, but they eventually get to the bottom of the issue and get it fixed. The office staff is friendly and communicative. The maintenance staff keeps the grounds well. The parking is fine. There are two pools (only 1 open right now via on-line 1hr reservations) and two laundry rooms. The two gates allow access to either Custer or Parker--although you might have to U-turn or turn left. The nearby stores and driving distance to either east or west Plano and I-75 are great. And, the nearby library, parks, creek, trails, and city rec centers are all awesome!
My roommate and I have been here for half a year and we rarely encounter any issues. When we had issues then we will request maintenance or pest control and they settled it quickly. I think it’s good for first time apartment.
Great place to live! The ladies in the office and the all the staff are friendly and respectful.
I just wanted to let everyone know that the staff here is amazing Dina is so helpful I’ve been here 2 years no complaints the apartments are nice and staff is awesome on top of it always
We have lived here over 9 years, and have enjoyed our stay. The management and staff do a great job of taking care of your service request in a timely fashion.
I've lived here for 3.5 years, going on 4 in Sept. So far, so good. We live in a 2/2. While the apartments are older, I can only say good things about this place: it's close to all the major highways, 2-3 grocery stores, there's not a lot of noise, we always have parking, in my three years here I have only seen two roaches (most of the bugs are outside bugs like centipedes, and that's rare), and their maintenance staff is great (things are being fixed that day or the next). Office staff has always treated us with respect. In the last two years I have seen them make strives to upkeep the apartment (fixing potholes), and lately they have repainted the outside of some apartments a really nice neutral color instead of the ugly gray/brown. it looks good. Good place to live.
I have lived here for over a year and I couldn't be happier! The reviews stating the bugs/pests are absurd. The pest control at this complex stays on top of it. I haven't a single complaint about this place! The office staff is incredibly nice and outgoing. They will help you with anything and will also address any issues you're having with your room almost immediately. They have done some upgrades/painting since I have moved in and the maintenance crew works extremely fast. I have had next to no issues with children being loud around the complex or loud music coming from other tenants. I would strongly recommend renting from Custer Park Apartments for your next home. Hands down the friendliest, homiest place I have lived thus far.
We love the layout and the size of the apartment, but we have had a lot of issues from the second we stepped into the apartment. Here is a list of everything that was wrong, damaged, or disappointing upon move in. -Upon arrival, the carpet in the entire apartment was soaked. Way more than just a regular carpet shampooing. When walking on the carpet it would soak through your shoes and would kick up water when you walked. We had to purchase and air-vac and multiple fans just so we could dry the carpet to move in on the day that we were told the apartment would be ready. The carpet cleaners had left minutes before our arrival. Living Room: -Loose Outlet -Loose plugs -Dirty Windows -Steps have screws sticking out -Carpet smells like wet dog/pee Kitchen: -2 plugs not in the outlet correctly -One shelf sagging -Broken oven lining seal -No vent hood cover/dirty and greasy on vent hood -Plumbing is sealed with duct tape Dining Room: -Railing loose -Laminate coming up Exterior: -Sliding door doesn't close Master bedroom: -Blinds don't close -Master window screen coming off Master bath: -Exhaust fan spits out dirt, sounds like it's dying, is falling off -SINK HAS MAJOR LEAK PROBLEM Guest Bedroom: -Plugs coming out/loose -No screen on window -SMELLS LIKE WET DOG/PEE Guest Bathroom: -Water damage/mold in shower ceiling -Paint on floor -Paint on medicine cabinet mirror -Missing half of the toilet paper holder Half bath: -Paint on floor -SINK LEAKS -Paint on mirror Other: -Missing 2 smoke detectors -Multiple outlets are loose Needless to say, moving in was terrible. The staff is very polite and tried to help as much as they could.
The building I was in was full of Cockroaches. They did not tell me that they were having issues like that till after I moved in. They were coming out every other week to spray and not just my apartment but the whole building. Building 16 I think. They should have fumigated the building to kill all of them. I hated waking up to cockroaches in my bathroom or kitchen when going to make coffee. Sitting at night I would see them climbing the walls. I kept my apartment clean, they were here prior to me moving in. On the good note, the staff is good, they take care of you if there is an issue, they do take care of the issue. The place is old and only so much they can do with what they have.
