An hour northwest of Minneapolis on Interstate 94, Saint Cloud is a charming small city on the banks of the Mississippi River. Saint Cloud State University is central to the community, both literally and figuratively: in addition to the 15,000 students enrolled, the university is one of the city’s biggest employers, and a dedicated fan base supports the school’s hockey program (the legendary Herb Brooks coached the Huskies back in the 1980s and his name now graces the Saint Cloud State hockey arena).
Just north of campus, Downtown is a charming riverside district with a strip of restaurants, bars, galleries, and performance venues along St. Germain Street. The city is home to over ninety public parks, ensuring that you’re never more than a few blocks from trails, lakes, and relaxing green spaces. For weekend excursions into the great outdoors, Saint Cloud is only a short drive away from Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge and Mille Lacs Lake.

I only rented with this place for a few months but while I was there I had a nice experience. Management was friendly every time I went in their with questions. They got a new secured self pick up package while I was living there. Little on the spendy side and you also pay all the utilities. Nice layouts and decent sized units.

Brennon, we strive for 100% satisfaction in serving our residents, and it is great to see you had such a positive experience at our community! Thank you for taking the time to leave a positive review!
I agree management will nickel and dime you and only care about themselves. They put things in place in hopes you'll fail so they can collect more money. Nice place. Poor management

We are so sorry to hear about your dissatisfaction. That is certainly not the experience we want you to have in one of our communities.
This company just wants your money. Their rigid rules and processes show how little they care about their tenant's experience here. I've been renting here for over 2 years and they have NEVER been accommodating for me. They will nickel and dime you and slip new fees and stipulations into your lease when you renew.

Hello, we regret to hear that you had a negative experience with us, but would appreciate the chance to turn your experience around. We know your time is valuable and if available please stop by the leasing office so we can discuss this experience and make things better.
Absolutely love my apartment here. I live on the 3rd floor and have beautiful vaulted ceilings. I have been living at Cypress Court Apartments since March 2019 and I have no complaints. My then boyfriend (now husband) and sister in law had rented here back in 2014 and they LOVED it here. After I got married we were apartment hunting after living at a different apartment complex and the only apartment my husband was willing to rent again was from Cypress Court Apartments. The whole property is clean inside out and the management is the best I have experienced so far. Follow the rules and policies and you should be fine! Highly recommend these apartments for those who are apartment hunting and are wanting the feeling of HOME!

Terrible management overall. Never took care of our one single complaint we had the 15 months we lived at Cypress Courts, even after bringing it up multiple times (a couple times to the “manager”). Common areas were always dirty and filthy, there was probably just one time that the halls, stairwell, elevator, fitness room, etc. was cleaned. Even when we notified the office of a mess in a common area, the cleaning was done very poorly. Apartment showings never took place at the time we were notified it would happen at, big inconvenience for us when a showing happened earlier or later than expected. Didn’t get full deposit back because they charged us for cleaning...we cleaned every single inch of our unit. Also, how are they going to charge ppl for cleaning if they themselves don’t clean their entire property??? Will never rent through IRET again

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to submit your feedback. It is important for us to hear of this negative experience. Best of luck to you in your new home. Have a great day!
On the outside this place appears to be fairly nice. I mean after all they charged enough it better be nice. Once you move in though you will find out the management is awful and all they really care about is getting a rent check out of you. They don't fix problems, there is graffiti all over the elevators. They say you can't have aggressive dogs yet there are several pitbulls living in the apartment. One almost bit me. Management does nothing about it. Chronic drug use. Sketchy people all over the place. Again management does nothing. I think this place would greatly benefit getting some new property Management that actually cares.

Wow where to start. 3 years here and I'm finally out. Wasn't too bad at first but now this place is a dump. Pit bulls, drugs, sketchy people, people living in vans in parking lot, neighborhood kids using pool as though it's public, terrible terrible management (Angie needs to go)and all they care about is money. Cops are there at least once a week. It's bad, glad I am done!

Hello, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us this feedback, it is important to us and can only help to improve. It is unfortunate that you had a negative experience, again, this feedback is very helpful. We wish you the best of luck in your new home.
First of all the apartments are pretty nice and the neighborhood is decent, I will say that, but that is about the extent of what I liked about this place. I may be partially biased against apartment living in general as I am coming from living alone in my own house for 5 years But..The great rooms (pool table, and lounge areas) are only available during staff hours which weren't always consistent with what is posted. I was forced to early terminate my lease due to a career change which ended up being very expensive (2 mo notice 2 mo termination fee). It is pet friendly so get used to hearing ankle biting dogs yip up and down the hallways at all hours of the day. What really left a bad taste in my mouth was after 2 months of living I only received $50 back from my security deposit. I never even touched a wall but got charged $40 painting fee (I doubt a paint brush touched a wall after I left), was charged another $150 for cleaning which the place was spotless (2 months of living - No Pets) and another $70 to clean the carpets which is somewhat understandable. Bottom Line - this place is only worried about sucking every penny out of you and nothing else. Would recommend ONLY if your money isn't an issue and you are OK with obnoxious pets.

Hello, Thank you for submitting your review and your feedback, feedback can only help us to improve. It is unfortunate that you didn't have an overall positive experience and we wish you the best of luck in your new housing. We are glad we were able to offer you the option to break your lease so you could move forward with your career. Best of luck to you.
Yes, the apartments here are nice but for what they are charging and not including any other utilities except for heat is absolutely ridiculous and way over priced. We applied elsewhere and found a nice apartment with utilities included except for cable much better deal.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to consider us as asp potential home option. We are sorry that we weren't your top choice. We wish you best in the home that you chose and thank you for sharing your feedback. Have a great day!
My husband and I moved in to Cypress soon after it opened and we loved it--the apartments look wonderful (though not all the workmanship is top notch) and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I loved the pool and screened in balconies, and in St. Cloud, you won't find many apartments with such nice amenities. However, IRET raises rent *every year,*, and every year new utilities were added to the renter's responsibility. The only utility that is now fully covered is heat. The electric company, Stearns Electric, also charges a $19.95 monthly minimum fee for each apartment (which was sometimes more than the price of the electricity we actually used!) and always rounds your bill up to the nearest dollar. Not a huge deal, but again, it can add up. Another issue is that the walls are *not* well soundproofed. Even when people were speaking at normal volumes in their apartments, we could often hear entire conversations, and many bedrooms share walls with the neighbors' living rooms (and usually this is the wall the neighbor's cable and thus TV is on, making it even louder). When dogs in neighboring apartments ran through rooms, our apartment would shake and we could hear the rumbling, which was a little frustrating at times. For the price, we expected better sound insulation between neighbors. Friends in the building complained about pet noise, though we never had this problem ourselves, at least not on a regular basis. We didn't hate living at Cypress Court, but we just didn't feel the price justified the inconveniences. This year, we we got our rent increase (again), we decided to look at houses and ultimately ended up buying a bigger, nicer place for not that much more per month than we were paying to rent. These apartments are already a bit overpriced for this market area, and once all utilities are added in, it's not really a great deal. The management company will hopefully reconsider their pricing and utilities coverage because it's just not competitive or really worth it for the area.
The apartments are great. I loved the location and the updated features. The staffing would be the let down. The office staff are rude and pushy. The only time they would contact me about anything was when I was moving out and they constantly were calling my phone to find out when I could return my keys when they hadn't even rented out my apartment. They didn't respond to any of our questions and they didn't seem to care. Also they are now charging for water and garbage which pushed a lot of dedicated renters to move out. In my personal opinion the nice apartments itself is not worth the rude staff and the overcharged extras.
I have lived here for over a year now & the location is wonderful. The buildings, grounds and units are very tasteful and well maintained. Also, on a bus line.
Cypress has been a great place to live. They accept pets, they have spacious floor plans and they did beautiful work to their apartments. I would recommend living here to anyone. Although price is high, you get what you pay for!
Living here has been nothing but fabulous so far! The gals/guys in the office are always so helpful and resolve issues fast! Perfect place to live with my 3 year old daughter!!
All the apartments are beautiful. White trim, stainless steel appliances and darker wood cabinets. Very updated and unique compared to other apartments around. I like the nice things in life, so I thought living here would be a perfect fit for me, but I would rather live in an outdated townhouse than here. My experience here has sadly been nothing but regret. Their policies on everything are outrageous! The pool closes at 8PM and they don't allow any beverages in the pool area (not even water bottles)! Their free Wi-Fi is so SLOW that I had to buy my own. The rules go on and on. I would never recommend a friend or family member to live here.
Very nice. But the down side is, is that it is pretty expensive
