With its beautiful homes beneath mature shade trees, sidewalks, and historic downtown with charming buildings housing locally-owned businesses and restaurants along brick-paved walkways, North Plainfield is anything but plain. This jaunty little town is very walkable, and you'll see students in backpacks walking to school, parents pushing strollers to the corner market, and neighbors out for afternoon strolls. It's called the "Proud City," and North Plainfield has plenty to be proud of.
The Washington Park Historic District, home to gorgeous Victorian architecture, features a Victorian Christmas House Tour and Art Exhibit and other walking tours. Washington Rock State Park is a historic site with fantastic views -- this was a lookout point during the American Revolution. The Watchung Reservation, on the north side of the borough, is ideal for hiking, camping, cross-country skiing, fishing, and outdoor ice skating.

Property Ratings at Cypress Gardens
Parking is terrible! Tenants park poorly sometimes taking two parking spots and parking lines are non existent. When they did paint lines, the spots were too small for suvs making parking impossible. During snow storms, the plowing is horrible and they don’t put any salt down. The snow in the parking lot ends up turning to ice and makes it dangerous to walk. They don’t take the time to actually clean the parking lot so parking becomes even worst during snow times. The apartments are ok, but they are horrible when it comes to patching up something in the apartment! The playground has no swings. It broke and they never fixed it so it’s just a slide. Everything is the bare minimum and for the price for the apartments they should do more. Oh and they open the pool late in the season! You pay a lot for a pool you only get to use for 4 weeks!!
The apartments are nice and big but the parking is horrible. Tenants park over the white line and take up two parking spaces they even block your driver door to the point you have to climb through your passenger side door to get to the driver side. Motorcycle are parked and never moved so it’s hard to look for parking and some of the people that live here are nice and some are just rude and don’t care. Other then that the apartments are fine but the people and parking are horrible.

Dear Resident, Thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback. Sincerely, Cypress Gardens Management
The complex has a very attentive staff on call, it is located in a quiet area with a lot of greens and trees that attract beautiful birds in the mornings. There are parking garages available and the best thing about it is the wide diversity of people that live here. It is a short drive from downtown and the nearby towns. I have lived here for years and l am very pleased.

Thank you for the 4 Star Review! We value your feedback as well as your residency and hope that you will continue to be happy at our community! Sincerely, Cypress Gardens Management
The upkeep of the landscape is non existent, it is very patchy and missing grass. The apartment itself is spacious with the exception of the bedroom closets. The bathroom could use some updating. The vanity is very old fashion and the tub is cheap hotel style. The kitchen need some updating as well ,the appliances are outdated. The cabinets have only been stained over and over and it shows. There is only one laundromat on site , which was just renovated.
