Forum is a residential neighborhood and commercial hub located about eight miles away from Downtown Fort Myers. The neighborhood houses the Forum, a large outdoor mall with big-box stores and casual restaurants. The rest of Forum consists of lakes, ponds, wetlands, and residences. The neighborhood has a variety of luxury apartments and Mediterranean-style houses available for rent. Along with proximity to Downtown Fort Myers, the neighborhood is near several parks and golf courses like Buckingham Community Park and Eastwood Golf Course. Residents have access to several major roadways including Highway 93 and 82 and Interstate 75, so traveling across Fort Myers is made easy.

Property Ratings at Cypress Legends
I moved down to Fort Myers last fall and having toured numerous communities, Cypress Legends takes the cake. Very clean, quiet, and overall phenomenal community to live in. The office staff is extremely helpful and kind (especially Melissa who helped me with the leasing process). The pool and gym are also a nice perk. I have had to use maintenance a few times and they are very prompt at getting things fixed. I would recommend this complex to anyone looking for a nice place to live in a very nice area of Fort Myers.
Location is everything and The Forum has it. Price is decent when you take in consideration the amenities. It's quiet at night, nothing alarming happening. Definitely renewing my lease.
Like the last review stated, this place is not one to recommend. I lived here for about 3 years, and 2 of those years the gate was broken. I chose that place because of the so-called safety provided and yet we were paying to live in a gated community with no gate, no working cameras, nothing, not even an explanation why the gate was broken. Rent keeps getting jacked up and the office sends constant emails about "$5 off rent if you guess the candies in the jar!" Repairs started to take quite a long time, and the last straw for us was finding out that something wrong in our unit was supposed to have been fixed 2 years prior and they never ordered it. Not long after moving in, we had neighbors that were having loud parties after 11pm/12am and I was told by office staff, "it's just apartment life, nothing we can do." No concern for residents, jacked up rent- this is honestly one of the worst places I've ever lived.

We chose Cypress Legends in 2021 in part because it was a gated community with cameras, and it appeared clean and well maintained. We wanted to feel safe and live in a nice community. That all changed by the time we left in February 2023. The main gate no longer functioned. It was left in the open position 24/7. As for the cameras, we were informed by the office staff that they were not working properly. We no longer had any sense of safety and security, benefits we were paying for. The complex has a lot of rules, but they don't enforce them. People let their dogs defecate everywhere. Management drives by on golf carts and say nothing, not even a reminder. There is a recycling dumpster, but people don't break down boxes so the dumpster is always full. There is a trash valet service that picks up garbage at your apartment 5 nights a week. You are supposed to set trash out in the provided can on those nights. However, tenants set plastic bags of trash out without using the can, and they do it on days there is no service. It sits there for two days stinking up the common areas and drawing insects. There was garbage juice leaking everywhere you walked. If you like to walk, you should avoid the area around the dumpster. The dumpster is located on the main road in the complex and is used for the entire facility. It is not emptied often enough, plus tenants just leave garbage outside on the ground. It smells so bad it makes you gag. There are cameras, but either not working or they don't care. As for parking, there are afternoons you may have to park a building or more away from your apartment in order to find a space. Part of this is because people have doubled up. There are people living in the complex that are not supposed to be there. You are only allowed to have overnight guests up to 14 nights a year, but some people moved in long term. We reported this and were informed that even an employee had moved her parents in after the hurricane. We complained about all of the things above, but our concerns and complaints fell on deaf ears; nothing changed. They seemed far more concerned about renting an apartment out to someone new than working with those of us already there. It got so bad, especially our concerns for our safety without a working gate, and with no fix in sight, we terminated our lease early and had to pay a two month rent penalty; they had the apartment re-rented in a week. No exceptions, no assistance, no remedy. It was all about money.

THEY'RE LIARS. I do not recommend renting an apartment at Cypress Legends. If you do, pay VERY close attention to the leasing contract. If you ask questions of the leasing consultants DO NOT TAKE THEIR WORD. The consultants will LIE to your face repeatedly and attempt to steer you. Unfortunately this happened to my family and I. We were ready to sign a 7 month lease because our new home would be ready in 6 months but they convinced us by LYING and told us that a 10 month lease was cheaper monthly than a 7 month lease which is true but here's the LIE - That as long as we gave sufficient notice of moving out (at least 30 days, we gave 60 days) we would not be liable for early termination fees of almost $3,000. I've tried resolving this in a fair manner with no results. It was a smooth lie which only comes with practice. So it appears the management condones this behavior. DON'T RENT WITH CYPRESS LEGENDS.

We moved in two weeks ago and are very pleased with this complex. We searched several options in Fort Myers and once we came here knew it would be the right choice. As noted there are many conveniences to the location, including shopping, restaurants, walking routes, and of course I-75. The amenities are great for us and our furry family member too! Our dog loves hanging out in "Central Bark", and enjoys walking along the lake and well-kept grounds. We are blessed with a first-floor location and patios with direct access to the grounds; very convenient for our dog! Two minor maintenance matters were taken care of rapidly by friendly staff, and we constantly appreciate Ashley's ability to provide 'local knowledge' and advice. If you are looking for a well-kept, quiet, and conveniently located rental home with all the amenities, you will be happy here at Cypress Legends.

Don't plan on living here during a hurricane. They will put SOME shutters up on SOME of their buildings and leave the rest. We are placed on the 2nd floor of building 6 and currently have no shutters on our windows with a category 5 hurricane on its way. Yet the first floor of building 6 has their shutters up. Lazy? Doesn't care? Yes. That's Cypress Legends. They informed us they will hire an outside contractor to install our shutters, therefore we have nothing to worry about. Then they apply some of them and leave the rest of the buildings bare. Absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional. If we knew you weren't going to stick to your word we would have definitely ensured our shutters were put up.
From the get go we have had problems with our ac since we moved in after 8 months & 2 experts we paid for they decided to call in their ac guy who confirmed what we have said and our experts said we had a leak. Now trying to get them to pay the electric for their broken ac running non stop appears its going to be a figt
I LIKE WHERE I LIVE, I LOVE THE LOCATION BUT I WORK IN NAPLES AND WOULD LOVE TO MOVE CLOSER TO MY JOB. I CAN'T AFFORD TO MOVE NOR CAN I AFFORD THE HIGHER RENTS IN NAPLS. THE STAFF AND THE GROUNDS ARE PERFECT FOR WHAT I REQUIRE. THE ONLY THING I WOULD ASK FOR WOULD BE A PLACE TO WASH MY CAR
This is a great place for college or grad students going to NOVA, Florida Gulf Coast University, and Kaiser University. It is just off the Highway 75, and very close to grocery stores, shopping, entertainment, malls, and just 20-30 minutes from Fort Myers Beach.
For gated apartment living this is the perfect place to live. Close to the interstate, shopping, dinning, entertainment, and schools. The staff are always helpful and friendly. Nice club house, pool, gym and pet friendly.
We looked at several apartment communities in Fort Myers before deciding on Cypress Legends at the Forum.The location is great, close to I-75, just a few minutes from downtown and only about 30 min from the beaches. High (not vaulted) ceilings in the apartment were a deciding factor for us. It definitely helps the floorplan to feel larger and less crowded. The staff are friendly (it hasn't always been that way) and generally maintenance requests are handled quickly. As far as negatives, the price continues to rise. Expect a $600-$700/yr. increase at renewal time every year. This has been consistent. "Concierge" trash service was previously provided, but stopped. So it's hard to justify the price increase year after year. For that reason it's a good short-term option if you're not planning to stay more than a year or two (apparently that's what they're looking for).
My husband and I are professionals that just moved to the Ft Myers area. We are very pleased with Cypress Legends. The amenities are great and well maintained. It is very quite in the apartments (thankful for the extra tall ceilings!) We never hear noise and we are on the middle floor! Tons of storage for an apartment. The walk in closets are great. The apartment was very clean on move in day. The staff seems very helpful! Location is great. 2 mins to I-75 and directly across the road from stores and restaurants including Target. We definitely recommend Cypress Legends!
The community is very nice and full of amenities. However, most of the residents seem to be college age kids with no job and no schedule. The noise level is unacceptable and the office does nothing to help. I will be moving out at the end of my lease. The maintenance people are great, but the office staff does nothing to help the residents who actually have a job, preferring instead to accommodate the loud students. It´s a shame.
