Situated about ten miles south of Downtown Denver, Littleton is frequently recognized as a great place to live. Founded in 1890, Littleton is proud of its rich heritage. The city honors its past with the Littleton Historical Museum, a living museum that recreates life on a 19th-century farm and homestead with extensive exhibits and rare artifacts.
Littleton blends past and present in its charming downtown area, which is brimming with exciting restaurants, bars, art galleries, and specialty shops in turn-of-the-century buildings along a tree-lined Main Street. Many Littleton residents gather downtown as well as at a host of community events, including Western Welcome Week, Summerset Festival, and the Colorado Irish Festival.
Outdoor recreation is a substantial part of life in Littleton, with more than 1,400 acres of parks and open spaces in addition to over 200 miles of trails set against a stunning backdrop of the Rocky Mountains.

Property Ratings at Dakota Ridge
When we signed a lease for our apartment, it was a simple and fairly fluid process from start to finish. And the office staff did a great job of answering any question we had along the way. As far as the apartment itself, it had a few things that had not been noticed untill someone was living there, but they were quick to fix the items we noticed, and very curtiouse of our space durring the process. All in all the staff is very helpful, quick to respond, and willing to work with us when things came up while we were living here. Also, all of the documents and payments are online so it makes it easier to pay rent and look at past charges. I would definitely rent from here again if the need came up. Hopefully this is helpful for anyone looking for a reliable place to rent!
Management is not responsive to any requests and is rude to tenants. The property manager is downright ugly to deal with. Think again prior to visiting.
Bait and switch. My experience with these people has been a joke. I scheduled an appointment for a tour online and didn't hear from anyone for 2 days so I called the office to confirm the appointment and check availability. Not a huge deal. I drive an hour to be shown the apartment and spend 45 minutes in the office only to find out that the apartment was no longer available but that there was a more expensive unit available. I declined and drove an hour back to my house where I receive a phone call from Dakota Ridge saying that the original apartment was now available? And at a lower price but I had to get the application in by midnight or the quote would expire. Well, it was Sunday and I didn't have everything that I needed to finish the application. I called the next morning to make sure that it was ok to complete the application and I was told to proceed. Once I completed the application process I could see that the price wasn't what we agreed on so I immediately called the office. I was told that they would work on it and call me back. I had to call them because they neglected to get back to me. Long story short, they waisted 4 hours of my time and jerked me around. They wouldn't honor the quote and I doubt I'll ever see my refund for the application fee. At least I didn't move here. What a Joke!
Very poor service for that price, rough staff. They can go into the house when you are not at home.
This complex was everything I was looking for- the apartment I moved in to was fully upgraded and super clean - like brand new. I have two large dogs and it is almost impossible to find a short term complex that would accept them, and Dakota Ridge did and did not charge an arm and a leg! The grounds were very well kept up, and I never noticed a problem with other dogs or smoking that some reviewers have mentioned. The complex was very dog friendly and welcoming. The ladies in the office were more than accommodating - I had some very unfortunate circumstances arise during my short time there and they were quick to assist and help me out. They went above and beyond! By far the most helpful and kind apartment complex staff that I have EVER encountered. I have already referred so many friends to this complex.
THEY RIP YOU OF WHEN YOU MOVE OUT- I NEVER COMPLAIN ABOUT ANYTHING, BUT THIS WAS JUST OUTRAGEOUS! I decided to trust them and didn't do the final move out walk through with them and they ripped me of. Charged me $537. Cleaning charges, a fan I never used in the entire year I lived there, etc. I AM HAPPY I DON'T have to live here anymore. Rent was expensive for a one bedroom, one bath apartment to top it of. The little movie theater advertise was never available for my kids. MOVE SOMEWHERE ELSE!
There is nothing inherently wrong with this complex, however, the maintenance crew is either slow to respond or doesn't respond at all. Given the high rent in the area it is not unexpected to pay an exorbitant amount, but the fact that they raised rent, almost a hundred dollars, that was already not worth it for what you get just for the reason that they could shows they value their pockets over actually offering a quality place to live for a respectable price. Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should.
These apartments are nice the people in the office are very nice they have remembered my name from the first day that I got the key. This place also has a special spot in my heart this is where my boyfriend and I started living together. we are now moving out due to the increase in rent and the fact that we need more space for out dog but overall this place has been amazing
Dakota Ridge Apartments in Littleton, Colorado is a decent place to live, but could be outstanding with better management. The apartments themselves are newer, in good working order. Large kitchen pantry closets, large bathrooms and a computer nook in each unit are highlights. However, the look is often deceiving. Several of the switch plates, the fuse box cover, and cable hook ups were not actually attached to the wall. They were painted on and this issue is never noticed until after you've been living there for several days and having turned in your damage report. Calling in a service request is easy, with the ability to call or fill out a request online. However, getting the service completed is often much more difficult. Most requests take over a week to complete, even when it's a major issue like a smoke detector that isn't working properly. The online portal is helpful, but often unreliable and not always accurate. The management prefer that rent be paid online, but three times in the last year the amount listed on the 1st was inaccurate and a late notice was sent because the management neglected to post fees. The landscaping, at first glance, is very nice and the views are spectacular. However, the grounds are not well maintained. Several breezeways have birds nests during the Spring/Summer with bird feces piling up. This is not addressed. The grass is not cut regularly. Also the landscaping is poorly designed. The grade of several parts of the property cause quagmires of mud and water. The convenient dog waste containers and waste bags are placed in strategic locations. But they are not emptied regularly, especially in winter. Also, the sidewalks and stairs are not cleared of snow consistently during/after snow storms. This causes hazardous conditions walking around the complex in the winter. Adequate parking is provided. Garages and carports are plentiful and inexpensive. However the speed bumps are a major hazard to any car. They are much too high, more useful as a bike jump than their intended purpose. The location is very good. Blocks from Wal Mart and gas stations. In the center of SW Littleton close to shopping, and public transportation. Overall the complex is average. The price is much too high for what you get ($1500 for a two bedroom apartment, after fees, is high but in line with the area). I would recommend this complex to friends and family if the location was convenient.
Dakota Ridge Apartments are a great place for young families. Located Right across the street from the Elementary, Jr. High and High School, a mile away from the Ridge Rec Center, a few blocks away from Walmart and just 45 minutes from the mountains or downtown Denver. Excellent amenities, such as a full gym, movie theater, 2 swimming pools, a dog park and dog wash station and apartments come equipped with washer and dryer (even though there is a central laundry facility). Everything you need is right there. The staff is incredible and maintenance personnel are reliable. I have been here for 12 years and could not imagine being anywhere else. If you are looking for a place in the Denver Metro area, give Dakota Ridge a first look.
