A few miles southeast of Downtown Denver along Interstate 25 lies the suburban neighborhood of University Hills. Apartments in the area provide easy access to Denver's light rail and bus system as well as the sprawling Eisenhower Park and its recreation center, with a pool, athletic fields, and tennis courts. The High Line Canal Trail bisects the neighborhood with possibilities for hiking, biking, and horseback riding.
The Colorado Center movie theater features an IMAX screen and hosts many sneak previews of upcoming films. Several shopping centers sit on the edge of town, as well as local and chain restaurants. Used to be nice. Now there has been an influx of people that trash everything, don’t follow posted rules about anything, dog poop and trash everywhere. They smoke pot on balconies, blast music night and day, trash the pool area, intimidate people from using the pool, loud and disrespectful to everyone, work on cars in the garage, and so far suffer zero consequences from their actions. Sleeping has become a joke. There is no peace and quiet here.

I moved here in the fall of 2023. I was impressed with the cleanliness, upkeep, safety, the variety of amenities available. Unfortunately, within 3-6 months an influx of people have moved in and it has changed everything. The rules are not enforced. Large groups of people who don’t live here are using the pool and other rooms and trashing the area. There are broken down cars in parking spots. You can see engine parts laying around. There was a drive shaft for 6-8 weeks on one parking floor. Our hallway carpets are stained so badly that it will never come out. People won’t even put their trash down the chute, they just leave it piled in the room. The safety gate for secured parking continues to break - leaving it accessible to everyone. I can only hope they make some improvements before my lease is up. Renewing is not even an option.

I have been a tenant here at the Deco Apartments for three years now. The location is great with easy access to shopping, dining and major roads and highways.These apartments also have a great variety of updated and modern amenities. The best part of living here is the Management Team, Brandon, Nancy, Sharonda, and Alfredo. They’re all so kind, accommodating and friendly. Any minimal or minor issues I have had living here the management team has acted quickly and effectively to always resolve any issues. Definitely the best Management Team! I highly recommend the Deco Apartments.

They jerked me around for two weeks, approving my application, then saying I didn't have enough proof of income, then saying I was approved again, then saying actually I wasn't approved because my income wasn't high enough. And the worst part is, they couldn't do this in a timely manner and take their sweet time responding to emails. They completely ignored my last one. (also, the apartments look nice in photos but are cheap looking in person)

I hope to upgrade this review. I moved here in late March. The amenities that were offered at the time of my visit made this a place to live. Things were so great during the tour that I broke my own decision making protocol. I was totally excited about the opportunity to experience such. The staff and maintenance have provided a good customer service experience. I totally understand the situation and scenario as to why certain experiences and amenities that were promised to me have not been delivered. As things started to open up in the cities and certain restrictions were lifted, the amenities stayed closed. They have slowly opened amenities(with restrictions), but guests are still not allowed in the amenities(main reason I chose to live here to share with others). The pool is open during business hours only; The gym just opened but with heavy restrictions and very limited time(during business hours, no weekends). The coffee machine is closed as the company is afraid to open that. Problem solving is very critical to me. I gauge how effective a company is in innovation, problem solving, and engagement during issues. At this junction I do not feel that management have effectively done such to provide what was marketed plus provide safety according to local guidelines. I have let that be known. I am still paying full rent and holding my end of the agreement when I first moved here. When they have expectations for me, as a tenant, in regards to following their rules and guidelines of the complex(especially during this time), they definitely want me to adhere without any excuses. So it goes both ways for me. Problems arise and that is understandable. I feel I go above and beyond to communicate things before I act. I let it be known that my expectations were not met, numerous times. I understand what they wanted to offer before the pandemic. It seems the expectations were for me to accept the excuses. However, I have to understand from my point of view and uphold my standards as I do with every other business that compete for my business. This review may not matter to many, but at least the current state of the complex is out there for others to decide if they happen to be deciding between other complexes who may be providing their marketed experience while adhering to local safety guidelines. I feel that properties as such should be commended and rewarded for such(innovation and problem solving aspect are big too me).
