Property Ratings at Deer Glen
*any comments on designs/layout may only pertain to the unit we have* So my fiance and I were looking to get our first place together. This place had the combination of close proximity, cost and features. We got a 2x2 unit to give us some space. Moving in was difficult to say the least. We're on the first floor: going in through the front door requires going up and down half-flights of stairs. The design of the living room kinda leaves something to be desired. The coax port for cable internet was in the corner between the heater and patio door in the living room. It would have been nice to put it on the wall where you're most likely to put a TV. The heating is radiant that takes up around 2/3 of the base of the wall in each room, and its dumb. By dumb, I mean its basically either on or off. This is compared to the A/C in the bedrooms where you can set a temp and it keeps it. The A/C unit in the living room looks to be as old as me (mid-30s). Its wood grain look and faded text are ugly, as its positioning on the wall makes it almost impossible to put the cover on it during the winter. The kitchen is nice, but it would be nice to have some more countertop space. There isn't much to say about the bedrooms: you sleep there. My only qualm about the bathrooms is the electrical. The vent fan and the lighting are on one switch. It would be nice to be able to enter the bathroom and just turn on the lights so you can be quiet. I must also point out the caliber of service the staff provides. During the polar vortex of 2019, we had a disaster of epic proportions hit. I woke up the day after the vortex subsided to the sound of water. I thought it was the white noise machine in the bedroom. As I got closer to the door, it got louder. I went out to the living room to a geyser coming out of the wall. I grabbed a towel to cover up the hole while I dialed maintenance with the other hand. Once they got the water shut off, they had a team out to suck up the water then a steam cleaning crew to drain the carpet. Both of the ladies from the office came in to help where they could. They were there for a couple of hours drying things off and helping move things to dry places. While it would have been nice had the corporate offices given us a credit for the full deductible for our insurance, the half we got was helpful Overall, I would recommend this place. Just really look over the unit to make sure everything is to your liking.
One of the best apartment complexes in the area. Especially for that money. Lived here for 4 years as a single female. Always felt comfortable. The apartments are spacious, great floorplans and well maintained. Everything is very clean and well taken care of. The grounds are nice and green and the pool is always super clean. Everybody is very friendly, became friends with lots of the neighbors. Lots of parking space. Brenda and Cynthia and the whole maintenance crew go above and beyond to make you feel at home here. The pool attendants and pool parties rock! Highly recommend this place!
You do not want to stay here. This apartment complex has serious bug problems on the 2nd and 3rd floor buildings which is odd. I am getting large ants and beetles everyday in my apartment this summer. There is a beetle infestation in my apartment and I have no idea how they are getting in my apartment when I even have my storm windows closed. Orkin sprayed my apartment and I'm still getting beetles and large ants. Also, there are 3 washers and 4 dryers that are shared among 2 complexes. You are lucky to get a washer or dryer and hope that it is clean. I have washed my clothes and have gotten dirt from the washer on my clothes on many occasions. Another inconvenience is how the washer and dryers are displayed in the laundry room; one person cannot put their clothes in the washer while another person dries their clothes.
Deer Glen Apartments has the worst and most unprofessional maintenance managet out of any apartment complex I have ever lived in. And I have lived in apartments over 30 years. Deer Glen Apartments also has the worst and most unprofessional office queen manager and princess assistant whom feel they do not have to be professional and act as if the tenants of the complex are not the ones whom are the reason they have a job and a paycheck. I would highly discourage anyone from renting an apartment from this joke of a complex.
The management is amazing, if you need anything, they're on it right away. The dryer ate my dollar and they brought quarters to me apartment. My screen door had come off the track, I called for maintenance, they were there within the hour. There is ample parking all around the complex, I never have an issue. They've been updating the entire property from the roof to the sliding doors. I wish the apartment was a little bit bigger (the 1 bedroom) but I have to say Deer Glen is a great place to live.
Stayed here for 3 years. Positives : It is affordable given the area. The scenery is nice since there is a golf course across the street. They maintain the pool, and the grounds. It is safe and the maintenance crew are prompt with fixing things. The people who live here are for the most part quiet. A lot of older individuals, young couples, and small families. Located near alot of amenities and not too far off the highway. Plenty of parking. Negatives : The heat never really worked well in my family room. this is due to the very drafty sliding door. The walls are thin so you can hear everything. i got lucky and had great neighbors but i'd assume others arent as lucky.
i like to stay here.nice place, quit and beautiful.
Very nice condo, lots of parking just small bathroom
Very comfortable surroundings. Lived in a one bedroom that felt very roomy. Only difficulty is the all electric heat and cooking. Other than that, the size, staff, and perks, make the place a comfortable place to live.
