Property Ratings at Deer Valley Apartments
The apartments are old. We had the water shut off several times in winter because of pipe problems. Our toilet leakeked for months. The fixtures are old. The air filters were never changed I think because they were so dirty so check that if you move in. The kitchen storage is so limited. The washer and dryer are small I don't think you can fit a blanket in them. People tend not to pick up after their dogs so you might step in some if you walk on the grass. The carpet in the hallways is old and the paint is chipping. Most of the people who live here are Indians who work at abvee and I think the only reason they live here because they want to be close to work and desperate to get their kids in a decent school district.
This apartment complex is definitely overpriced, I would recommend trying to find a cheaper place in the area. Myself and multiple neighbors have complained regarding the heating and air conditioning and filthy HVAC vents with no response from staff. It is very difficult and expensive to break your lease early, and they are not flexible with your needs. The pool is only open for a very short period of time in the summer. Save yourself the trouble and rent somewhere else, this place isn't worth it. The local police have to patrol the property as there is apparent drug trafficking activity. The office and maintenance staff is a revolving door.
This apartment complex is definitely overpriced, I would recommend trying to find a cheaper place in the area. myself and multiple neighbors have complained of missing packages from the mail rooms with no response from staff. It is very difficult and expensive to break your lease early, and they are not flexible with your needs. We were not refunded for amenities which closed for several months due to covid. We're sorry to see this one star review and hope we can use your feedback to improve. We know the impacts of having the pool closed due to COVID was not planned and for the safety of our community we had to act accordingly. You will not regret or disappointed by choosing Deere Valley Apartments. We have been residing here for the last four years. Our experience is fabulous. The managements are very friendly and helpful. Billy, the maintenance manager, is a great guy. Your maintenance requests will be taken care of without any delay. Great school districts. Check Oak Grove School (District 68) for more detail, if you have little ones. The school bus comes and picks up the student from Deer Valley. Also, it is a safe place for you and your family. We let our kids play outside without any worries. ?????? ?? ?? ?????? We are going back to MN next week. We will miss Deer Valley. If you are joining Rosalind Franklin University, check them if they have specials. God bless!
Hard to find a reliable, safe apartment complex on the border of Waukegan, but Deer Valley is just that. The school system (Oak Grove) is top notch! Remodeled 24/7 gym, clubhouse, pavement. Most residents are very quiet and have a job at Abott, meaning they need to sleep early and not stay up at all hours of the night. Maintenance guys are the best in the business and response time is usually a few hours. Only issue is the kids (and sometimes parents) playing in the middle of the street.
Nice apt complex, clean and nice area. Leasing office very helpful. Yaritza is very competent and attentive. Fully recommended.
Clean, secure area. I have great residents in my building. My only issue is when I leave a voicemail, many times I have to callback or send email regarding a maintenance issue.
I love this community but I think the price could include at least water sewer and trash... Also, Nicole was great in person but it was hard to get a straight answer from her when I had questions via e-mail. Finally, please make the community map available online so I can compare the locations when selecting an apartment
Dont like: rent varies every day, extra for parking abd garrage, no kids play area. 200$ for application process fee???
I would recommend, the only problem I had was that the leasing agent began to throw numbers at me quickly. I felt rushed. When she did slow down to see if I kept up then the silence just felt like an inconvenience to her. Otherwise the apartments sell themselves but if she is the one to handle the business side it is a good deterrent due to her rushed and pressured ways.
I would be happy to recommend if I get that rental price as it stated online on your website and quoted at the time I was approved.
It's expensive not sure to many want to pay that much, but it is a nice place.
The maintenance crew here are not only professionals, but keep a good positive relationship with residence
It's nice. New/updated appliances, washer/dryer in unit, good price (if you wait long enough for the right price to show up), quiet area, family friendly, close to Abbott.
Parking, snow removal and trash were problems.
Nice apartments and a good value.
High level of concern for tenant satisfaction.
It's clean, quite, theirs a pool and work out room just over all nice.
The service, community manager, cleanliness, and atmosphere. Feel safe here, this is my home.
