Duluth Heights is Duluth’s largest neighborhood and is known for its natural beauty and modern amenities. Duluth Heights has rental options for every style and budget, from affordable houses to upscale apartments. This leafy neighborhood is characterized by rolling hills, spacious yards, public parks, and homes hidden among acres of woods. Although Duluth Heights embodies the secluded feel Minnesota is known for, the neighborhood has plenty of suburban staples located along U.S. Highway 53. This long thoroughfare is filled with department stores, grocers, chain restaurants, and more. Miller Hill Mall is also located along Highway 53. Duluth Heights is family friendly with good schools and proximity to several colleges. Duluth Heights is near Lake Superior College, the College of Saint Scholastica, and the University of Minnesota Duluth.

Property Ratings at Deerfield Townhomes
we have lived here for over a year and struggled with many things. Most importantly, we have additionally costly charges on our account that were not described in our lease documents. In addition, we have waited for over 3 months to receive a new lease to sign-so I am not even sure we have a true lease at this point. Multiple attempts are reaching landlord have gone unreponsded to OR it takes weeks to hear replies that are vague and offer no solution to our issues. We have issues with water leaking from our ceiling during rainstorms. An open maintenance request that has not been completed in at least 2 months, so do not count on maintenance helping you with issues.
Unsightly vehicles (cars parked and not moved at all during winter occupy spaces that others residents could use/ cars with flat tires and not moved at all for weeks). The overall appearance of the complex is degraded.
Quiet, good amenities, good appliances, love the wooded areas and the dog park!
Maintenance crew are great. They always solve my problems
Easy living! Deerfield has been incredibly responsive to requests and questions.
This is a wonderful community to live in. If I need a place to move in the future I would definitely come back.
I would recommend living here. They are not bad apartments just wish rent was so much.
There are many good things about living here! I am very comfortable in the apartment and I love the atmosphere of the community.
YES
I would continue to recommend this apartment community because of it being well-maintained and attention given by all staff, both office and maintenance personnel. When I have had maintenance issues needing attention, the office staff was extremely helpful in arranging the maintenance in a prompt manner. The most important factor for my wife and I renting at the Deerfield complex is because of its close proximity to nearby stores (Sam's Club, Walmart, Miller Hill Mall, as well as Super One, Cub Foods and Aldi supermarkets. Could not be a better location!!!!! I walk every day. Having new sidewalks along the major roadways which front the Deerfield complex, is an extremely convenient and important extra benefit for the residents of the complex. Besides my above comments, one of the major reasons why we selected the Deerfield complex is because the allowing of family pets. Prior to selecting the Deerfield complex, we visited and viewed many other apartment complexes in Duluth and Hermantown, but some of them did not allow family pets. We feel we made a wise decision to reside at the Deerfield complex.
It’s a great community. Highly recommend to all my friends and family.
We have always received a quick response to any problem big or small and had courteous personnel reply to our request
It’s in a great area and there are great people that live here
I lived here with my roommates for a year while going to UMD and it was nice at first having the pool and the workout room available after school, but after our elderly neighbor moved out (with whom we shared a wall) an annoyingly loud family moved in with their small children who constantly scream and run up and down the stairs. The other neighbors had chihuahuas that constantly yipped if they saw anything outside but fortunately they moved out a few months after we moved in. It is not an uncommon sight to see movers at different apartments at least twice a month. Because of the poor insulation, the building can get extremely cold in the winter so don't be surprised when you receive a higher than expected electric bill from November through April. Other than that the apartments are clean and well maintained but it comes down to luck as in with any other place you would rent with on who your neighbors are.
My dryer broke and I had a new one the very next day! Above and beyond! I wasnt expecting a new one for a few days.
I like living here. But the rent prices for the refurbished units are way too high.
I would recommend due to the family friendly area. There are children outdoors so it makes it more neighborly, and Pet friendly as well. The nearby schools are highly rated. Close to everything.
Bedrooms had no lights in them. Garage would flood over from melting snow.
Minus how incredibly expensive it is. I would recommend it to anyone.
Deerfield is amazing! My daughter has made some many new friends and everyone is very helpful!
I think once everything is up to date, this place really is great and family friendly.
We really like the community feel and would love to have friends and family closer to us!
We do not own a dog. There are many dogs in this development and some of which are not picked up got after their owners. This was probably the biggest reason we left.
Mistakes happen, people's plates are full. I have enjoyed living here otherwise and people have been nice/respectful.
Again, rent is high for short term leases and that is not well advertised on the website. The apt was not very clean when I moved in. Staff is lovely and amenities are great. Location is also nice.
Prior to moving to Deerfield, we had heard several negative comments about the Deerfield units (too cold in the winter, electrical outlets frosting, noise can easily be heard in the next unit). Since moving here on May 30, we enjoy our unit and have found the office staff (Kate) to be exceptionally helpful and friendly. We had an issue with Mediacom setting up our television, phone and internet service and they could not detect a signal in the wiring to one of the bedrooms. The Deerfield electricians came to the unit and immediately located the problem. The electricians were friendly and resolved the issue in a very short time. Unlike what we heard previously, we do not hear the people or noises in the adjacent units. At this point, we enjoy living in our unit and do not have any regrets about moving here. GREAT STAFF!
The apartments and community are nice but the maintenance took awhile to get done and the apartments are not very well maintained. There was dents and scratches in the walls. The fishing work like paint and trim was poorly done. For example missing spots of paint, painting over things, can see where railing was remounted.
Pet friendly, caring and attentive staff, great amenities, AMAZING community and neighbors, very safe, garage, large rooms, dishwasher, dog park, up-to-date, beautiful modern decor
I don't like the recreation vehicles parked all over. They should be in the designated areas
I have recommended Deer Field in the past related to it being dog friendly, safe, comfortable, a great location and a great place to live.
I would recommend Deerfield Town Homes because of the proximity to shopping, schools, and churches. I would not recommend because the rent is way too high for the quality of the apartments, to include appliances and lack of lighting.
The leasing staff was amazing and worked with me and answered all my questions in a timely manner. They seemed to actually care about me and my situation and tried to help me by giving me a variety of options.
I would recommend this community because of the office staff. They are personal, and very helpful. My personal problems are not ones they can control.
There is a sense of security living here. My neighbors who are past and present have all been very friendly and look out for me and my dog. The units have their quirks but has been a good home for me for 3 years. One of the best spots in the area that accepts pets and in a great location. Access to the workout area and ability to reserve the common area has been a beneficial feature living here. I have recommended this place to 2 friends who have come to live here and will do it again!
Staff is great, apartment is comfortable. The only real issue can be the thin walls but luckily newer neighbors are very quiet and respectful.
Walls are paper thin. Can hear the college kids next door swearing, having sex etc. Tired of them parking on the grass seed I planted.
No smoking signs have been removed from the pool area and should be reinstated. Bully dog breeds are allowed on the premises despite the lease policy. Specially, pitbulls.
The apartment community is basically polite and a nice neighborhood feeling for families. Just a bit more privacy would be nice as we are a bit all close together but we already knew this going forward. So this is fine for us. It is nice to have neighbors and things are very convenient so yes I would highly recommend to family and friends. Thanks.
My wife and I would definitely recommend Deerfield Townhomes. The service, rent, amenities, snow removal, and April are all included. We call it home.
