Skinker DeBaliviere is one of the city’s oldest neighborhoods and is one of the best places to live in Saint Louis. Skinker DeBaliviere is nestled next to Forest Park, the site of the 1907 World’s Fair, but is also adjacent to the Washington University in Saint Louis campus. Forest Park is also home to the Saint Louis Art Museum, the Saint Louis Zoo, the Missouri History Museum, and more. This historic neighborhood merges the old and new, juxtaposing ornate early 20th-century style houses and sleek modern apartments available for rent. Similar to its name, Skinker DeBaliviere is certainly unique. The neighborhood is a quirky, park-like locale with a vibrant culture and diverse, close-knit community. Residents don’t have to go far for amenities and many head to the north to Delmar Boulevard, home of the Delmar Loop, a bustling dining, entertainment, and nightlife hub. For even more options, Downtown Saint Louis is only 15 minutes away.

Property Ratings at Delmar Apartments
They never pick their calls no matter what number you call, what time of the day you call or how many times you call them. I had a tour scheduled for 10:30, I am here waiting, the guy in the bookstore said he hasn’t seen them today, the notice on their door said they’d be back by 9, this is 10:50 and no one is still here. Ridiculous and unprofessional. A complete waste of time. If this is how they are before you start living here, I wonder how they would be when you do. It’s 11am and still no show. I definitely do not recommend.
I stay there a for a while. It’s actually not located on Delmar but rather 2 miles for it. Several nights I would hear gun shots as it’s not located in the safest part of town. It takes a long time for them to fix things.I had to put in 20 service request before my refrigerator was finally fixed a year later. The elevator was constantly breaking down which was embarrassing when I invited guess over. Someone destroyed the entrance glass several times and it wasn’t fixed for about a month. They change management all the time so you never know who your dealing with in the lease office. Rent is increase ever year. My rent went up 40$ the first time. They will lie to you to try and get you to sign a new lease don’t believe anything not written. The rooms are very small for the prices they charge. My room even a huge pillar in the living room due to the building being so old. Fire alarm drills are performed at 3:00am in the morning during the winter on week days. If you don’t renew your lease within 60 days of it ending they will auto renew it for you. The close metro link is forest park. 3 people have died at forest park since I stayed here. This is a hard past and I strongly advise you to rent somewhere else!
