Property Ratings at Delshire Apartments
I was a tenant here for over 3 years. This is a great spot if you're looking for a temporary living space that's close to downtown/UC, safe, & affordable. Maintenance can be hit and miss. Positive attitudes from staff, especially Matt, who addresses tenant concerns and is a friendly property manager. Rule enforcement is uncommon, especially with parking, but for the price, you cannot go wrong renting at Delshire Apartments.
No consistent enforcement of the rules. They will threaten to evict you for things that other tenents are fine doing. They seem to look for problems. I have the impression the staff views the tenants as children.
I visited this property on 6/1/18 to view a 2BR. Prior to visiting, I did my research online & on several review sites, I read tons of negative reviews. Very little positive reviews. The majority of the negative reviews were in regards to the roach & bug infestation but majority complaints were about how nasty & rude the office staff were. I called ahead of time & a lady named Mel answered. She told me their hrs of operation & that I could come view an apt any time, simply bring my photo ID. I showed up 10 minutes after the call & let me tell you, the office staff is very rude! I am a nice, professional lady & was wearing my Cincinnati Health Dept uniform. Mel was at the desk & she is very robotic. Barely looks you in the eye & you can tell she's giving you a script she's memorized. I was expecting someone to show me an apt but instead they give you a key to go view a MODEL APT upstairs by YOURSELF. Also, you have to fill out a "welcome card" that asks for everything except for your ssn! I went upstairs and viewed the apt. I wasnt impressed. The a/c's are INSIDE of the closets. I've never seen anything like it. After leaving the model unit, I went back to the office to return the key. Mel went into her robo mode, gave me an app & told me what I needed to complete & what docs I needed to return. I heard a "Have a nice day" & she went back to what she was doing. Nasty & rude - passive aggressive. Where are the SMILES?? Finally I said, "Excuse me, am I able to ask questions"? That's when Mel said, "ok sure". The fact they run you these scripts & go super fast and usher you out is quite offensive. What prospective renter views an apt and has NO questions? Probably NO ONE. I was offended Mel didnt ask me if I had any questions, let alone give me time to ask. You would think this is a 5-star luxury property the way they operate. When I left, I realized I forgot to ask a question about bugs infestation. I called back, Mel answered. She never answered my question about bug infestations & gave me another script she gives everyone : "Well if you see a problem, we ask that you report is as soon as possible". Excuse me lady, IM NOT A TENANT. She was telling me what tenants do when I simply want to know if they do have a problem with infestations or reports of it. Mel was so uncomfortable answering the question, that alone gave me my answer. PLEASE BELIEVE the reviews you see. I can tell you first hand the horrible customer service is VERY TRUE. I'll pass.
It is a decent apartment. But we've had mouse problems before and very thin walls, ceilings and floors. The maintenance guys are really nice and fix things almost right away.
I was living in KY and thought that the place I was moving to was a down grade. But after spending a month here at Delshire Apartments, I was completely wrong. The neighbors are more friendly, the maintenance comes out the same day, my heat is paid for, and all the other stuff listed on the site. What really got me, was when I signed my lease, they gave me a 2-liter of coke that said "Share with a friend". When I go into the office, they're always friendly and happy to see me. I never feel like I'm bothering them and that they genuinely care about my concerns. Clearly they do since everything has been taken care of within a few hours of letting them know. I'm right next to a church, elementary school, and less than 1/2 a mile is the pike with the grocery stores and food stops. There's also the fire department which is about two blocks away so close enough to come quickly, but far enough you don't hear their sirens. I live on the third floor and have an amazing view for beautiful fireworks and stunning lightning shows! Any doubts I had that I was downgrading to be closer to my family, has been eradicated completely!
Close to downtown for my work, at less than half the price of living downtown. Of course I have to live without a skyline view, LOL. Delhi is growing, nice new restaurants, very friendly folks in town. Great location for my elementary age son. No maintenance issues. Small apartment but just right for a family of 3. Kroger and my bank are less than 5 minutes away. The lawns and play areas are nice.
My family and I have been happy here for over 3 years. They recently replaced several of the workers with more mature guys who do a great job fixing things quickly. Sometimes the kids get a little loud.
I have lived here for about 10 years and have enjoyed my stay. The people are mostly friendly. Sometimes I wish management would screen new renter's better , but for the most part it's a nice place to live.
Delshire is a nice place. Not fancy, no pool, but for the money, you cannot go wrong. Very nice maintenance men, the office staff is good too, but sometimes they put me on hold too long. Lots of students from MSJ live here but noise is not an issue as they all seem like good kids. As long as you are not expecting top of the line amenities, you wont be disappointed.
I love the location and the maintenance men are nice. The people who work in the office and the Management are very rude and not in touch with what goes on in here. The rules listed on the least are not enforced by Management and they are quick to dismiss any complaints of wrongdoings on this property.
My son and I made a trip to Cincinnati to take a look at Delshire Apartments and were SOLD immediately. The 2 bedroom apt. was perfect for him. The grounds were clean and kept very nice. Rob was very pleasant to talk with and very helpful. My son is very excited to move in and start his school year at Mount St Joseph. Thanks Rob for all your help. MaryBeth
