Located about 10 miles north of Downtown Detroit, Hazel Park is the ideal suburban city -- close to the larger city but far enough away to provide that small-town charm. Hazel Park's cozy setting includes mature trees and beautiful parks. I-75 runs through the neighborhood, making commutes into Detroit even easier. Nearby destinations include the Detroit Zoo, Palmer Park and its Palmer Park Golf Course, and the State Fair Grounds.

With a history dating back to 1882, Hazel Park was named for the hazelnut bushes in the area. The city offers a variety of neighborhoods and building styles, ranging from 1920s bungalows to colonials. A variety of restaurants, shops, and other businesses are located along 9 Mile Road, with more businesses on John Road. The Hazel Park Raceway brings visitors to the city to enjoy horse racing as well as the track's two bars, grill, and special events. Another attraction, the Hazel Park Ice Arena, hosts hockey games as well as public skating and classes.

THE PITS WITH A SLUM LORD

IM 58 ON SOCIAL SECURITY AND I LIVE WITH BED BUGS THAT CAME INTO MY UNIT FROM THE APARTMENT BENEATH ME . THERE IS NO CIRCULATION IN THE UNIT. THE CARPET IS NASTY , I LIVE ON THE 3RD FLOOR AND THERE IS NO ELEVATOR. AND THE LAND LORD REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT ANY OF THESE THINGS . I HAVE ASTHMA ,ARTHRITIS IN MY ANKELS AND KNEES ,AND I HARDLY KNOW HOW IM GOING TO MAKE IT FROM MONTH TO MONTH I NEED HELP A FREE APARTMEN WILL BE HEAVEN SENT AND AN ANSWER TO MY PRAYERS . OH AND THERES MOLD IN THE BATHROOM WALLS THAT WERENT THERE WHEN I MOVED IN THEY APEARED LAYER WHEN I TAKE SHOWERS ,THEY MUST HAVE PAINTED OVER THEM TO CONCEAL THEM BEFORE I MOVED IN ,THE LANDLORD SAID SHED REPLACE THE CARPET BUT NEVER DID. MY HEALTH IS GETTING WORSE AND LIVING HERE DOESENT HELP . I CANT AFFORD TO MOVE PLEASE HELP ME HOPE I WIN GOD WILLING AMEN THANK U.
