Situated in west Texas along the Rio Grande, just north of the United States-Mexico border, El Paso embraces the past while building the future. Chamizal National Memorial, a museum and park, honors the peaceful settlement of the Chamizal boundary dispute while the University of Texas at El Paso fosters tomorrow’s leaders.
El Paso is known as the Sun City, boasting over 300 days of sunshine every year. There are plenty of venues to enjoy the frequent sunshine, including the El Paso Zoo, Franklin Mountains State Park, and nearby Wet n Wild Waterworld. The Rio Grande is a popular spot for whitewater rafting, canoeing, and fishing as well.
Should you want to head indoors, you have the option to catch a performance at the Plaza Theatre, indulge in authentic Mexican cuisine, admire the works in the El Paso Museum of Art, and tour the El Paso Museum of History in addition to the El Paso Holocaust Museum and Study Center.

Property Ratings at DESERT PEAKS
This property is beautiful and fantastic. I recommend this property.
Love this place! Quiet, clean and staff is super friendly!
Fast respond to things . Affordable price . Quiet neighborhood
Absolutely love the staff here, the manager made me feel welcome up upon move in and this still to this day. Maintenance is awesome put in a work order and the before the end of the day it was completed. Love the Pool, the gym .Great place to live for my first time on my own. Most Definitely would refer my friends and family to live here!!
Moved in November 2022. It’s been six months and this the worst place I’ve lived since moving to El Paso in 2017. Memorial Day Weekend and the pool still isn’t open.
Been at Desert Peaks since March of 2020. Went through 2 management companies now on the 3rd. Velo Residential took over like in January early February. You can definitely feel the difference in management. As for the staff before they are all gone. New manager New maintenance which by the way all friendly great people. Looking forward to going home from my 2 months getaway and seeing what other changes have been made.
Im not even living at this property. I was interested in living there, made the appointment with the girl the day before and we agreed on a time. I showed up, wasted my lunch time on going because the girl wasn’t even there. I called and called the office and knocked at the door and nothing. I never to heard back from her. I didn’t wanna believe the previous negative reviews but if this girl didn’t care to show up to the appointment then there’s some truth to them. Guess I saved myself a headache.
Property Manager at DESERT PEAKS, Responded To This Review
We're extremely sorry to hear about this as issues in our customer service is not something we are known for. As you can see from our other reviews, we pride ourselves on providing great service and we'd like to do the same for you. We may not be able to change the past but if you give us a chance, we can work to make things right. Our team hopes to resolve this and to turn your experience with us around in a positive light.
Great place to live in and great staff! If need an apt fast, this is the best place to stop by and get it.
It clearly states they have a couple 1 bed 1 bath available. Called and some lady had an attitude when I asked about the apartments, I asked if I should call next month and she said "umm if you want to?" Like wow, is that how professional this place is?
Excellent customer service, helped me find stores to rent furniture and helped me find a moving company.
Since the management has changed everything is so much better, as you can see the reviews prior were not good. The remodeling they are doing in the apartments is really nice.
I recommend living at Desert Peaks. The apartments are very spacious and pretty for the price you pay. The staff is very friendly.
I highly recommend Desert Peak Apts. they are very nice inside. Love the all wood flooring and modern look. The staff is very nice and helpful.
Excellent customer service! the apartments looks very clean outside and inside! friendly faces to talk to. Helped me with all my questions. New management, so changes to come I m sure for the best of the community. Thank you!
Very happy with the new maintenance and much so the friendly office staff. Great community to live I recommend it to anyone plus the location is great, prices are fair.
I currently live here and I wish I could move. Management and maintenance are lazy. They never fix anything. We've gone 2 years without AC and heat. It's taking forever to get our toilet fixed. Our dishwasher never worked. Hoses under the sink were never fixed. What is more, when you put work orders in they write them off as fixed. I don't know what kind of communication exists between management and maintenance, but it's at the cost of the tenants. In the beginning they are really nice, but over time they stop caring. It's also really insulting that they do not clean the second pool. It is incredibly filthy. They do not even bother to drain it, and when they do they do not clean it, so the water stays murky and dirty. Plus, they charge for all utilities. Be careful with contracts because we started out paying only gas and electric, and without notice after 2 years they started charging us for all utilities, including trash and sewer fees. Some of the contract areas are left blank or they tell you it doesn't apply to you, but now we realize it might be wiggle room for them to charge us all these fees without notice. I'd be super incredibly careful about renting here. Like I said, I wish I could move but our income does not allow for a more comfortable place. If you can stretch your budget, please do. Don't move here.
Lovely place to live. The people that work at the office are always available for us. Never had a problem with maintenance.
This is the worst place to leave. The maintenance is so lazy and they do not do their work right. The rent is not cheap, if you have to deal with all those issues. They never repaired the leaking I had under the sink and on the ceiling.
After two years leaving here we have discover how lazy maintenance is and how much of a health hazard is leaving here. We had a couple of leaks underneath the sink they never change the wood or remodeling the cabinet. As we are getting everything ready to move out we starTed cleaning out master bedroom closet we found a big black circle in the wall. Before that we also had a leak from the ceiling another safety issue. Water was coming out from the light bulb. They only open a gap in the ceiling and left it like that. They didn't even bother where this leak came from.
