With much of Bent Creek tucked away in the Pisgah National Forest in an area famous for its world-class mountain bike trails, this wooded Asheville neighborhood is ideal for nature-lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. Bent Creek also includes part of the French Broad River, the North Carolina Arboretum, and easy access to I-26. The popular Asheville Outlet Mall is situated off I-26, providing a variety of shops and restaurants for residents to enjoy.
With a population of roughly 1,300, Bent Creek offers a mountain retreat that feels remote even though it is only about eight miles southwest of Downtown Asheville. Bent Creek is a short drive from the Biltmore Estate, the shops of Biltmore Village, and the popular boating and fishing spot Lake Julian.

Property Ratings at Dilworth Apartment Homes
This was, by far, the worst place I've ever rented. I lived there for about 5 years and although their sign says "Luxury Homes" there is nothing luxurious about it. It has the normal problems of cheap apartments - paper thin walls, appliances that are always breaking etc, but it gets worse depending on what new management has taken over for that year. One winter they decided not to scrape the ice off of the sidewalks for several days and when I asked if they were going to do something about the ice, I was told it was "my job to be careful." Out of the five or so years of living there our air filters got changed maybe 5 or 6 times. There are not enough parking spaces for the amount of people living there. We would often have to park halfway across the complex every time we came home. One building usually had a pile of old food just thrown around the bushes. I had to pull a chicken bone out of my dog's mouth more than once. Notifying the office did not stop the issue. Speaking of dogs, there is dog poop all over the grass. They don't have nearly enough dog waste disposals for the amount of dogs that live there. Honestly, I don't even blame people for not picking up after their dogs because I felt silly walking over 20 piles of poo just to throw mine away. The mail situation is pretty bad too. They have Parcel Pending, but several times my packages were just left under the stairwell. Maybe the mail person didn't want to deal with the roaches in the mail room? I would also strongly advise anyone living there to keep copies of any communication from the office, especially the "Notice to Vacate" when you try to move out at the end of your lease. Actually, maybe take a picture of the manager holding it and that day's newspaper to prove you're moving out - because they will charge you for an entire extra month after you move out and there's nothing you can do about it. I don't know why they bother having a disputes department, when all they do is mail you the same copy and paste letter saying they don't have your info on file. Maybe if they didn't change management every year this wouldn't be a problem. The Southwood Realty corporate office was no help either - One day I was told they were forwarding my dispute to the regional manager, and the next I'm told they don't deal with former residents and that there's nothing they can do before hanging up on me. If you're looking for a place to live, keep looking. I'm so glad to be out of there.
TERRIBLE road noise from the loud trucks and muscle cars if you live on the road side of the apartments. Rude, snotty, dismissive man working in the front office. Bed bugs at move in. Have seen another tenants apartment not adjacent to mine being treated for bed bugs also. My most recent email to the staff about my upstairs neighbors garbage leaking onto my porch was completely ignored, then when I emailed a second time they argued that the neighbor claims there is nothing leaking onto my porch.....you are required to pay $25/mo for them to collect your garbage rather than taking it out yourself. And, it will cost me $3000 + to end this lease early even though they will not be out the money. They will be able to rent the place out within two weeks. I am pretty dissatisfied with this place and feel certain these good reviews are posted by the owners or managers of the property. I can only say the neighbors are pretty nice.

We are so sorry that you feel this way, if there is anything we can do, let us know.
Dilworth is a wonderful place to live because of the convenient location. It is close to shopping and city but close to the Bent Creek Experimental Forest that makes you feel as if you can be miles away in nature with only a 5 minute drive or bike ride! The NC Arboretum offers many trails for biking, running, or just walking the dog!
Management is non responsive to issues of safety, parking, and noise. Lots of car damage due to people not parking inbetween lines and too close. Be prepared to walk to your building because there are not enough parking spaces to park in front of your building. Trash in stairwells and grounds. Thin walls, you can hear your neighbors and people using stairs. Don’t put anything on patios because it will be stolen. Lots of employee turnover. The carpet is cheap. When you vacuum, it pulls the carpet up and fills up the canister. Carpet pulls and pits, very cheap. Trash pickup is inconsistent and before stated hours. Attitude of management is don’t bother them with issues. There are far to many other choices of Better homes For the price and quality.

We are so sorry to hear about your experiences with us here at Dilworth. Maintenance, along with office staff, are working together to make sure the grounds, breezeways and stairwells are kept clean. I will also double check on pickup times for you! As for the carpet issue, please let me know when a good time for maintenance is to stop by and take a look. I would love to set up a meeting and discuss these issues further, and see what the two of us can come up with to resolve this.
My favorite is the easy excess of parking. I love the wide open spaces to walk my puppy.the apartment is beyond exceptional with the tile bathrooms and dining area floors. The cabinet space is spacious and well put together. I love the designer appliances and fixtures. A wonderful place to call home whether it be long or short. Take a look at Dilworth, you won’t be disappointed either. W. Hensley
The space is more than anywhere in Asheville for a reasonable rent, the staff is very friendly, and is always quick to address any sort of issue.
