Property Ratings at Discovery at Mountain View
Where to start. The apartments are very nice. When I moved In, it was definitely not ready for me to do so. There was dried (what looked like blood) on the walls in the closet. The carpets were not new at all. I know this by the way it felt. Not to mention I’m still smelling the last occupants animals. If they didn’t have any animals on file, they were hiding it, because it’s very clear there was a dog that lived there. You can never get ahold of anyone in the office. If you leave a message, they will not call you back. It’s very noisy. People come and go often, so there always cars blasting music at all hours of the day. Evening being worse. I didn’t get my keys until almost a year of me moving there. Thank god all of my mail was sent to my parents house. I know a lot of people said the pool was only open a week during the summer. That wasn’t an appeal to me, but I do understand that you’re paying for that amenity. There is also a gate that hasn’t worked since I’ve lived there (going in two years). Only reason I’m still her, is because my rent would be the same if I signed another lease early. Which brings me to something else. I have never been late paying a bill. Every now and then I get emails saying I have a balance. Since it’s hard getting in touch with someone, you pay it until you can. The evidence in the portal is contradictory. It’ll say you have a balance, but at the bottom you can clearly see where it was already taken out. This is the only place I’ve lived where I’ve renewed a lease. Now I remember why I don’t do that. Again, the layout is beautiful, but not worth the headache

Do not move here save yourself the trouble and the headache. I was supposed to move here on November 17. My move-in date was been pushed back to November 21. I was told that they needed to add some finishing touches to the unit when I arrived on November 21, the unit was still not ready. The walls had not been painted. The blinds were broken they were blind in one of the bedrooms. There was a load of trash right outside the front door. I’m assuming from the previous tenants. I was then asked to come back the next day To give them time to make things right at this point, the U-Haul has been loaded I was ready to move in. I got to the unit and the wall still had not been painted the trash outside still And come to find out, the unit was infested with roaches. I had to leave my belongings on the For over a day because the next day was Thanksgiving day and wait Until Friday I was able to speak with the manager Carrie and request my money back Mind you I have paid $800 total. I was advised that she would have to speak with the To see if they would be willing to give me my money back I received an email Letting me know that I will be refunded the prorated rent and the deposit excluding the application fee and the administration fee. Here we are today and I still have not received my check in the mail. I am beyond frustrated and upset due to this situation I wasted money And having it for two days, I am out of the application fee and administration fee, and I still have not Funds which has put a stop to me moving somewhere else I have been inconvenienced beyond words Do not move here save yourself the trouble

We would be happy to assist with any inconvenience we can at this time, Ash. We regret that your first impressions were not so positive, but we would have been happy to take care of any minor concerns you have. Please stay in contact with our office if we can help as needed.
I recently had the unfortunate experience of living in the Discovery apartment complex, and I must say that my time there was less than satisfactory. The management of this complex is simply horrendous. First and foremost, the entry gates have been in disrepair for months, if not longer. Instead of addressing this issue, the management has opted for an intrusive and rude security approach, requiring every car to stop and present ID to enter the complex. This not only creates an unnecessary inconvenience for residents but also gives the impression that the management is more interested in policing the community than ensuring a welcoming environment. The amenities promised by Discovery are a far cry from the reality. The pool, touted as a highlight, only opened in September, leaving residents without a vital feature during the hot summer months. Additionally, the communal areas, including the pool, are often filthy and poorly maintained, making them less than enjoyable for residents. There is only one dumpster for the entire complex, and it's consistently overflowing during the week. This not only poses a sanitation problem but also reflects the management's negligence. For families with children, the absence of a safe play area is a significant concern. The complex offers a park for dogs but neglects the need for a dedicated space for kids, leaving them to play in potentially dangerous streetways. Maintenance requests are another headache at Discovery. Maintenance workers seem to prioritize leisure over duty, driving around in golf carts blasting music and taking weeks to address residents' concerns. This lackadaisical approach is unacceptable and adds to the frustration of living here. The unprofessional and uncaring attitude of the office staff is a final straw. Replies to emails often come with smart remarks, further highlighting the lack of respect and empathy towards residents. Lastly, the presence of roaches in the apartments is simply unacceptable. It points to poor maintenance and cleanliness standards that should be a basic standard. Discovery apartments have the potential to be a good place to live if the management were to show genuine care for the community. Unfortunately, it appears that they view the complex as a burden. It's evident that amenities and the entry gate have been neglected. I would strongly caution anyone considering living here to think twice and explore other options with better management and living conditions.

We appreciate you leaving us such a detailed review of your impressions but we are sad to see they are not positive. If you have been having maintenance concerns and experiencing delays or pest issues, please come visit us at the office and speak with us so that we can take action.
Save yourself and DON'T move here. Management does not care about resident concerns nor do they respond to work orders. I have a 6 year old daughter who is unable to sleep at night due to managements negligence. I have had a work order in the system that has NOT been resolved for over TWO MONTHS. Within those two months they have erased my work orders out of the system, on multiple occasions and made up some excuse why they did so. I am under the impression that they have time metrics they need to stay within and thats why my work orders miraculously disapper. There is no accountability for the management team. Every time I reach out they either do not respond or only respond when I cc upper management. The last correspondence was that they were backed up because maintenance was working to get the pool fix. They also explained in a community wide email that a pool company was called to get the pool up and running. Im not sure what to believe. There is constantly trash on the grounds throughout the complex which is embarrassing when inviting guests over, the equipment in the gym is barely functional and the pool has been being "worked on" the entire summer and the residents have not been able to use it. I pay rent on time every month yet, just to be treated like garbage. I do not have access to the amenities the company said I would when I signed my lease and which was a selling factor for me moving here. This is by far the worst rental experience I have encountered since I started renting at 18 years old. Management is not concerned about the residents nor their well-being. Find cheap rent somewhere else. I WILL NOT be renewing, and I suggest you don't even sign a lease. I'd rather pay more for a management team that is capable of doing their job and actually cares about resident concerns. Very dissatisfied resident.

I have lived here for 3 years now. The past 6 months they have gotten a new management. They cant keep a property manager so there is absolutely no communication. One manager tells you something and the next week there is a new manager telling you something totally different. They make new rules everyday according to how they feel. This new company is awful out to get any dollar. They are rude and no help at all. I absolutely do not recommend living here.

Having lived here for two years, I am satisfied with the apartment. Having been to other apartments, I know that some are very different from others. Compared to others, my apartment is in much better condition in terms of neighbors, parking, and outdoor cleanliness. There is no playground at this apartment complex and even though there is a pool, it was rarely open this summer. Recently, I have been experiencing issues relating to the recent buyout of the complex. The new office is attempting to adjust to the new environment every month, so there is always something going on. In my opinion, I am a very private and non-problematic tenant. I felt undervalued when I went to the office to inquire about renewing my lease and options regarding rent prices and discounts for early renewals. I waited patiently in the office, but the staff insisted on helping me and someone else at the same time. Despite the fact that he may have been waiting for something else, having to speak over him was uncomfortable. There have been instances when I have walked through the complex and strange people followed me. Therefore, I did not feel comfortable discussing my information in such a loud manner. As there were others in the office as well, I offered to come back, however she replied, "I have you now.". When I stepped away to take a phone call while she was talking to the person in front of her, she interrupted my call to inform me that she had my information. Although I requested various rates, she simply stated that the base rate would increase by 12% and that carpet clearing surfaces would be available if the lease were to be renewed. It is not unusual for complexes to inform their tenants that their leases are coming to a close and promote renewal rates. Knowing that it was near my 60 days I walked down there to inquire and walked away with a post-it. This really made me feel unappreciated as a tenant. I still do not have any official documentation regarding the rate increase, nor do I have the other numbers I requested, nor the form necessary to terminate my lease.
A nice home to live in. Kids need a place to play, and we could use more speed bumps/ patrolling of speed violaters, for kids and resident's safety.

The team was extremely friendly and professional. They were quick to respond to my (many) questions and concerns on my last minute move via email and phone. Meaghan was my assigned agent and she made sure I was happy with my apartment and was especially helpful with getting services hooked up. They went far and beyond to make me happy. Richard, a maintenance man even helped me install my washing machine. I recommend this property to all of my friends in the area.

Beautiful community, maintenance handled immediately and very friendly and professional!
The apartment is nice, bright, and quiet. The dog park is not big enough for large dogs to run and exercise. My neighbors are good, but many smoke pot and it stinks up my place when my furnace is running. Trash is a problem on weekends when people are home, but the valet trash doesn't pick up on weekends. I get the need for speed bumps, but there are too many. Allowing parking along the side of the drive is a safety problem. Swimming pool's shaded too much, too small, and closed way too early in the year.
I like that the grounds are kept very clean and the apartments have a great presentation, it is just the noise level.
Great place to live but simply there is not enough parking. People who work late shifts find it really hard to find a decent parking space near their complex.
Move out day was terrible. We were told to come to office to get same day walk through after loading our moving truck. We did that on the 17th and the office manager told us she wasn't going to do it now we had to wait till the next day knowing we were leaving that night. We left apartment empty and vacuumed. We then received a letter in the mail saying we still owed because they applied our deposit towards to us seemed like none legitimate charges this is also the first time I have not received my deposit back. They charged us a garbage removal fee their was none I've never been charged anywhere else for carpet cleaning upon move out. A drip pan charge if they weren't their when we left they weren't their to begin with.Id rather have someone call me then type all this.
This is a great community and one of the best in Middle Tennessee. It’s a quiet place and good to raise a family. I live here for 8 years and raised my kids here. It’s a great place and management is awasame. Staff are like family. Neighbors are great. The manager is great leader and good friend. They treat you like family. The maintenance team is professional and take care of the business with great care and diligence. I recommend this community to everyone who is looking for a place to live.

The property is well maintained and clean. The apartment has been great with minimal maintenance request having to be placed.
It’s quiet, well kept. I enjoy living in the area.
I have only been here a few days. So far I am pleased with my decision to reside here.
Parking is the only negative and that's only every now and then. Clean, great staff, always making improvements.
1. Not enough parking. 2. Visitors and residents tot eh neighborhood speed thru the parking areas and do not have respect for pedestrians. I was almost hit the other day, because someone was going too fast down the hill.
I would recommend this apartment community because of the prompt, friendly and Professional Customer Service of the entire Discovery at Mountain View Staff.
This was a great experience and answered in a timely manner. That is not always the case.
I would recommend my community because the staff is amazing and maintenance always get the job done in a timely manner .
I have lived in the country in privacy and serenity for decades before coming here. I am thrilled that the apartment and community are so nice and, relatively quiet. The neighbors are very considerate of others, except the ones who do not clean up after their dogs, but I am sure that happens everywhere... people being people and lazy when nobody is looking.
I still enjoy living here and still recommend the community when asked.
Would only recommend because the convenience of being close to an interstate and the price is fair
The community is grea. The only issue is the renters who speed through the parking lot. They are not very respectful to other renters. When the school bus stops to pick up kids some if the drivers do not want to stop and try to go around the bus. This is the only negative issue I see here.
Something needs to be done about the speeding in the apartment community.
environment is kept clean, lawns are neat.maintenance is efficient.UNFORTUNATELY the pool was closed last summer the majority of the summer. Hopefully it will be opened more often this summer.
Community was awesome and affordable and I felt safe. It was great!
He is very knowledgeable and quick, also safe with his work.
I am treated with great respect bt all of the Management team, I feel safe and proud to call it home.
It is great everyone is doing their best do what good
a great area that is growing but the rental rates keep getting higher as well
It’s quiet, the apartment was in good condition and I’m getting what I’m paying for and maintenance is amazing.
WE can't wait to rent from Discovery. We need a 3BR downstairs level with no steps and the garage. LOVED the one we looked at and are trying to get everything arranged to move in May or June. Can you please let me know what we need to do so when one becomes available we can get it. Thank you, Diana Tredway

In my previous apartment complex, I had a water issue where water would flood into my apartment every time it rained. No one was attentive to this issue, and I would have to move the furniture in my apartment myself and clean up every time it rained. They sent people out to fix it, but it was just a "band-aid" fix every time and it was not in a timely manner. The issue never was resolved, and I ended up getting out of my lease early because of the issue and because of the fear that mold was forming because of a lack of ability to fix the problem. On the other hand, the issue I had in my kitchen here was fixed very promptly and fixed completely and correctly the first time. Not only that, but the kitchen got cleaned. I so appreciate you guys and the service you provide for residents! Thank you for taking the time to make sure that things get done and for putting value on residents and their homes.
