Property Ratings at District West
From the approval process to move-in time it was nothing but a disaster. There was nothing but inconsistent actions along with false advertisement. It took almost 2 weeks just for my lease to get sent to me And every time I asked about it, I was told one thing and it never got accomplished . When I toured the place, I was shown a beautiful newly modeled room but when it was time to move in the apartment, they assigned me to something that was completely different. Not only that, they made me switch apartments at least three different times INCLUDING the day in was suppose to move in. Therefore I had to keep switching the electricity to a different apartment EACH time which was a huge inconvenience for me. The apartment they assigned me was old and smelled like cigarettes, then had stains in the bathroom tub with a crack in the bathroom mirror. Then when I complained, I was gaslighted as if there was nothing wrong with the apartment. I asked if I can move into a different unit but they claimed there was no more “remolded units” therefore they offered me $75 off off my entire lease instead of just putting me into a different unit. So obviously, if you have to take money off the rent then that means something is wrong correct? Because if there was nothing wrong then why are you offering money off?…
Bad management horrible staff. Most buildings are old and falling apart inside ac heater issues constantly water took 3 years to get fixed and the hot water barley gets luke warm Stay Away From Here
These apartments are cheeper for a reason iv had dozens of issues anything from holding my mail in the office for 2 weeks without warning to the water being shut off every week iv never live in a place this bad and poorly run.
Property Manager at District West, Responded To This Review
We are now proudly managed by Ambo Properties - lots of improvements and upgrades have been made. We welcome you to give us another try!
This property has nothing but concerns. I have had an A/C break and was told it would be two months too fix. Have had roaches. I had to move apartments as well I have had a slab leak at my apartment since October of 2021. Maintenance never gets back to you and never fixes anything. Management makes you feel as if it’s your fault for putting a request or following up about anything getting done. I know most people don’t review unless it’s negative but I try to review either way. I’m telling you to look elsewhere. Pay the extra amount to live somewhere else
Got a water leak from my upstairs neighbor back in April it’s now jume and maintenance still hasn’t token a look at it. I’m pretty sure the building now has mold and still they want to do nothing about it since I moved in we have had so many issues with having maintenance come out and fix stuff around our apartment. And you call management in the office and they are always to busy to speak but you go in and they are just sitting on their personal phones doing nothing.... BY FAR THE WORST PLACE IVE LIVED IN !!!
I have lived here for almost 3 years and I love it!
This has hands down been the worst place that I have ever lived. You are LUCKY if the water is ever turned on. They must fix the pipes with ducktape here. More days than not we are without :water because of an "emergency shut off" Honestly they need to be shut down by the county. Since living here for a year, we have been without water 57 times. That is at least once a week! They never fix anything in a timely manner. It take aroun 3 weeks for a work order to be filled. During a snow storm, we were without water or power for 4 days with only a few emails of "Oops, we are sorry. Working on it". There were no estimated fix times or proper care for residents. We were very scared. Our neighbors with a baby had to go live with their parents it got so bad. Honesly this is a dangerous place to live and the tenants clearly know because none of them actually live here. STAY AWAY
Answered any questions I had about setting up leases, moving in, and getting situated with everything very clearly and promptly. I felt like I could ask management anything and would get a response within 30 minutes, with a perfectly simple answer.
The District West ll apartments are very nice and fairly priced. I had no issues moving in and Ive never had any bad experiences with other tenants.
Love the unit Im in . Very homy and very quiet environment
Leasing staff was very helpful and super easy to communicate with. Made moving in pretty easy. The apartment floors needed a pretty good clean upon move in. I would have black feet after walking around for a while. The dog park needs to be maintained a bit better but I understand cleaning policies might be different right now due to COVID. Other than those small issues, these apartment are fantastic so far. Would definitely recommend as of now.
District West is really quiet and friendly. The staff is super helpful throughout the whole process and are quick at returning calls and or emails.
If I had it to do over I would live somewhere else, I've been stolen from numerous times since I lived here.
Very well kept complex overall. Clean and beautiful pool areas. Apartments are built well.
good location! Very easy in driving
Nice apartments for the price. Its peaceful and the people seem nice.
Nice place to live. The maintenance men Larry and Sean are awesome. Super stand up dudes.
See comments above. Also, my review is one year and nine months of happiness at District West/Canyon Crossing Apartments. Thanks!
District West has a great staff and maintenance crew who are attentive, professional and always helpful! Yes its an older complex and there will be maintenance issues but they handle problems quite promptly and efficiently! Ive never yet had an issue that they didnt try resolve quickly! Ive enjoyed leading here and would highly recommend anyone else looking for an apartment with space and a friendly environment!
They dont care for the residents and wont rake repairs or your needs seriously at all what so ever and management here is a joke
Fantastic job when issues arise ....prompt and able to handle any problem right away
Always review the REVIEWS before leasing somewhere! This was my first & last apartment! They have ruin my experience to want to stay in another complex. Place was dirty prior to moving in. Upstairs bathroom was constantly leaking & mold. Not clear on the instruction in the property emails & first month after moving in another resident had their motorcycle reported stolen.
Good place to live
Good place to live!
As a current resident I can say it’s not worth it at all unless you have no other options. There’s trash constantly everywhere you have to choice buy to pay a $25/month trash collection free that you probably won’t use. You’re next to the highway so you hear it all the time. The shower head is so short I have to bend down to shower and I’m only 5’8”. Anyone can break your glass back door and get in at ground level. Your one window probably won’t open because it’s painted shut and for my updated model my microwave has to sit on my counter top and take up what space I have in the kitchen. The dishwasher is a joke and I’ve had to wash dishes by hand since moving in.
When we first moved in it was okay, pretty quiet, as long as your not in the front of the complex off the loop. However, they are in the middle of construction on an addition to the complex, and every day at 5 am, construction starts. Maintenance issues take at least two or three tries and requests for it to be repaired, for example, my bathroom sink has been leaking for about four months, they've come to fix it three times and it still leaks pretty badly. The units in the original complex are relatively older, so there are lots of issues. The office staff is pretty sweet, which is one of the few redeeming features of this complex. In my opinion, move here, just not until construction is over.
This apartment complex is horrible!! From the rude staff, the water being shut off all the time, and them screwing you out of your money! There was a 10 day period where workers were coming in and out of my apartment from 9-6 doing "renovations" on the sinks. The workers took everything out of my closet and had it strung out across my room. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE AND NOT WORTH IT
If you move here, be prepared to have the water shut off multiple times a week during the winter for hours at a time. In the summer you get to look forward to your air conditioner going out every other week. I don't like being cold, so I don't run my air conditioner that frequently. Any time I call the office, they apologize, but offer nothing. I've tried being understanding, but it's too much at this point. The only reason I am giving this place 1 star is because zero stars are not an option.
The issues with Canyon Crossing apartments are endless. From the filth to the unprofessional staff, it's beyond me how they are still in business. Unfortunately, places like this continue to bully their tenants until someone decides to stand up to them. I've attached pictures of the condition that the apartment was in when we moved in to show the magnitude of filth. I'm also convinced there is black mold around the windows which has been ignored for years. In a nutshell, this complex is refusing to refund deposits, stealing funds from tenants and saying it's for a cleaning fee, and in turn expecting them to be ok with moving into these filthy conditions. It's obvious from the pictures that they don't use the money for cleaning. We made numerous complaints about the huge stretches of mud & dirt surrounding the apartments with no luck. We had to trek through it everyday to get into our apartment. The apartments are filthy -- inside & out.
