Property Ratings at Midtown One80
DO NOT MOVE HERE! Many of the positive reviews you see are from new tenants who were asked to leave reviews before moving in and some just do the tours. This building is filthy, and my apartment was disgusting when i moved in. In the month that I've lived here, my car has been broken into twice, and packages have been stolen multiple times. There are no cameras in the building, garages, entrance, or hallways. If you see any cameras, they don't work as the police asked for footage and received no response. There is no security, as the doors are left unlocked at all hours, providing access to potential robbers and homeless individuals. The elevator key tag does not work, granting access to the building and floors. There is no emergency maintenance—my AC stopped working on a Saturday night, and despite being in a 90-degree heat for two nights, I couldn't get maintenance to come. They do not live on-site and are unresponsive. Elevators can be out of order for months at a time, and there is always a new manager. DO NOT SIGN THAT LEASE! If you have doubts, ask a current tenant

The elevators don’t work. They do not prioritize service. Hallways are filthy with pee stains everywhere. Very horrible management. Alarms go off all the time for hours. Do not spend yiour hard earned money to live here!!
This property is an absolute mess. It’s lipstick on a pig. It’s a fairly new property that has been run into the ground by at least 2 previous management companies…the current property management group isn’t any better. The property manager, Ruth, will say anything to get you out of the office. There are glaring issues with the property that remain in disrepair. Do not fall for the “Under New Management” BS. Do not fall for their lies about making improvements, they aren’t. This place is awful.
Today, September 27, 2022, is the second time in less than a month that the building's fire alarm goes off at 2:30 in the morning. Last month the alarm went off at 2:50am and was turned off at 11:50am, firefighters came and it's simply a problem with the building's system. If you love your life, don't rent an apartment at Dolce Midtown, this building is the worst in Houston.
Back again with an update: Recently the water shut off in the evening and when I called emergency maintenance they took 3 hours to get it back on. The complex NEVER reached out to even let us know what was going on or provide updates. Zero communication! Then today the water goes off AGAIN and my neighbor called maintenance who told her that it was the city of Houston shutting it off so there was nothing they could do. Someone then left a note in the elevator after going hours without water with the phone number for the city of Houston water department, so I called. Before I even told her the address or name of the complex, she asked if I was at Dolce Midtown. When I said yes her response was, “Wow, so many people are calling from there. Y’all still don’t have water? It’s not the city of Houston, we don’t have anyone out there who shut it off. You need to get ahold of your apartment complex.” This is INSANE that our apartment complex is lying to residents claiming that the issue is because of the City when that isn’t even true. Still no email or text from the complex explaining the situation or apologizing. No working elevator is one thing (which happened again last night for the millionth time) but no running water is not okay. They expect us to pay rent in an apartment complex where we go without running water for hours at a time?? I don’t think so. This is by far the worst apartment complex in Midtown.
Apartment is not luxury. The walls are so thin! You can hear the traffic and the music from the lost & found bar next door! You have to buy your own lightbulbs and have maintenance replace them. Packages are stolen or opened up because they don’t have a secure location to put the mail! Luxury items, wedding gifts, and severally other packages were stolen and they don’t care. They simply state that they can’t do anything and it was the drivers fault. It’s the driver’s fault that you don’t have a secure location to put huge boxes? I think not! It’s poorly constructed and a recipe for disaster. There is one elevator per building and they are broken half of the time. Imagine being on the top floor and the elevator isn’t working and you have to walk smh! Do not lease here!
Lived here for 2 yrs- My vehicle has been broken into, my boyfriends truck was STOLEN, and after a string of home break ins all the office could do was just offer us a free omelette bar ?? After dropping my key/clicker down the elevator shaft, the office made me wait an hour just for them to tell me I was on my own and had to pay $350 out of pocket. Much better places to live for the price. Don’t recommend for single females also.
Super convenient if you are trying to go out and be social, mostly other young people living in the building. Pool is dope and there is usually something happening on the weekends.
This apartment is terrible. I have lived here for almost 2 years now and and the quality of service keeps going down. The new property management company (Celtic) is unresponsive, they often hang up calls, and don't respond to maintenance requests. I have been waiting for light bulbs for almost 2 months now. When I check in with them on the issue, they say they will call back, but they never do. Aside for service issues, there is only one elevator in the entire building and it seems to be broken most of the time, and as someone with joint issues, using the stairs often can be an issue. There are also times when there is dog poop in the stairwell. The hallways always stink of weed. People blast their music late into the night. Barely any visitor parking. Do not move to this apartment complex!!! I cannot emphasize that enough.
Relocated to Houston from Maryland and to say the least the staff here has made my move a great process! They helped me with everything and provided me with ALL the information I need! The location and awesome! I’m excited to see what Houston has to offer!! Thank you Dolce Midtown!!!!
This property is not secure. Vehicle and residence break-ins have occurred numerous times and management does not offer any solutions or care. When met with the concerns from the residents the property manager simply said "There is nothing that we can do". The location is great however for the price there are many other complexes to choose from that are far better than this one.
My car got broken into. Another resident’s car got broken into as well the same week. Management is really not doing much to fix the issue of a lack of security. Three more cars have apparently all gotten broken into. I was told by the property manager that there’s nothing they can do. No patrolling, no security cameras. Apparently the owners don’t care and the property management company can’t do anything.
