Property Ratings at Dolley Madison at Tysons
I’ve been living at Dolley Madison Apartments for a while now, and I couldn’t be happier! The neighbors are friendly, and it gives you the feeling of a community. I love taking my dog for long walks, late in the evenings, and always feel safe. The convenience store Dolley's is unmatchable it feels more like a family than just a store. I’m really happy to call this place home.
I lived there for more than several years and I had nothing but a positive experience. If I had any maintenance problems, it was addressed within hours and their maintenance crew were always friendly and trustworthy. The grounds were always well kept and well groomed. The pool was sparkling clean with a lifeguard always on duty. They're garden style apartments with playgrounds positioned throughout the community. There is easy access to the major highways and routes 66 and 495. The office staff were always friendly and willing to help...I already miss them. I will stop by to say hi the next time I'm in the neighborhood.
They don't keep up with normal maintenance that I recently fell and need medical attention. They keep giving me the run around to pay my medical expenses. Maintenance such as keeping side walks from caving in, proper drainage, broken excercise machines, snow removal, changing light bulbs, landscaping. Building are old that the plumbing is loud, floors creek, they have a Squirrel problem and parking is bad. They have a Squirrel problem. They damage your patio furniture, furniture coverings, and plants. They fight in your balcony and beg for food. I have had up to 5 gather in my balcony at one time. There not scared of people. The buildings are so old that the floors creek so loud. I wake up at night whenever the people above me go to the restroom. Plumbing is so loud, everytime someone takes a shower upstairs it's so loud i can't hear myself talk. Something is weird about the water because it kills all my plants. I have to give them bottled water as well. Parking is I recently fell after it snowed because they had not cleared the sidewalks of any snow. Managment, told me they would pay for my medical expenses and as soon as I sent it to them, they changed their minds and refused to pay for it. Now they have told me, they made a claim with the insurance but don't want to give me the information to call them. They keep telling me the insurance will call me next week. Excercise machines have been broken for over 3 months even after I reported them. Landscape in front of my place has not been replaced in years. I have also complained about this. I was here for a year after they replaced the light bulbs in the front of the building after I complained. Not enough visitor parking.
I recently had the pleasure of calling this incredible apartment complex my home, and I cannot praise it enough. From the moment I moved in, I was greeted by the friendly and attentive office staff. Their professionalism and dedication to ensuring a positive living experience truly stood out. One of the standout features of this apartment community is the convenience store located right on the premises. It offers a wide range of products, making those last-minute grocery runs a breeze. Whether it's grabbing a quick snack or picking up household essentials, the convenience store adds an extra layer of convenience to daily life. Maintenance requests are handled promptly and efficiently, thanks to the exceptional property management team. The team has a remarkable responsiveness that ensures any issues are swiftly addressed. Their attention to detail and commitment to tenant satisfaction make a significant difference in the overall living experience. Parking is always a concern in apartment living, but this complex offers excellent parking options. Finding a convenient and hassle-free parking spot was never an issue during my time here. The availability of good parking spaces alleviated any stress associated with parking, making coming home a pleasant experience. The engaging office staff, the convenience store, and the exceptional property manager, Nawel, have truly made this apartment complex a place that feels like home. I cannot recommend it highly enough to anyone seeking a comfortable and enjoyable living experience.
We stayed at Dolley Madison for a few months while doing some work in the area and I have to say it was a great choice, from the Olympic size swimming pool to the convenient store located steps from my door, to the great staff who always seemed to be there whenever I needed anything, Dolley Madison has it all. Parks that are located right on the property, they even have a sand volley ball court. I hope I get sent to the DMV area again because Dolley is definitely my first choice.
I decided to put a deposit on an apt 5/15. I paid a $500 deposit and $50 non refundable app fee. 9 days later, 33 days before lease starts, I have bought a house and have decided to not move there. They kept all of my $550 even though they said the app was $50 and the $500 was a deposit. Our lease starts 6/25. It is May 23rd. Be very careful here. Only put in an app if you want to live here. 9 days hold, I did not even view apt because tenants there until June. Out $550 dollars and they are laughing at me. They told me I would have a chance to view and make decisions. They told me all I lost was the $50 app fee. It is just not right.
I have really enjoyed staying here! It is located in a super convenient location close to 495, 66 and the silver line metro station. The office staff and maintenance staff at Dolley always work promptly to address any questions or concerns. The neighborhood is very kid friendly and safe. My daughter enjoys having the majority of her school friends located in this area. Another highlight is having a convenience store located only a few steps away from where I live (I am definitely a regular there). Highly recommend Dolley Madison without hesitation!
Property Manager at Dolley Madison at Tysons, Responded To This Review
Dear Resident, Thank you for your kind review. Many of our residents enjoy the close proximity to the Silver line Metro and that I495 and I66 are so easily accessible. Since Dolley's Market has opened, we're so happy to see many of our residents connecting on the outdoor patio area while enjoying various snacks and goodies! We sincerely care about your quality of life and we're excited to hear we're exceeding you expectations. Thank you for being our resident!
Just wanted to share my review of DM apartments! I have been living here for over a year and has been a wonderful experience so far. The office management team has always been helpful and you don't have to worry about seeing different agents as they seem happy and there always there to help with any issues. The maintenance crew keeps the property well maintained and can always see someone cleaning inside the hallways keeping everything clean. Do not let the age of the property scare you as my 1 BR has more space then the average 1BR in newer apts so nice!! Parking is not an issue as I have had some bad experiences from previous places I lived. My appliances have all been updated and have never had any issues with A/C or Heat as the water and heat are paid for which is a nice bonus! Perfect location as you can walk to the Silverline and enjoy not driving into DC. I tried the commute from out west but this choice was the best I ever made!! Thank you staff from Dolly Madison!!

Thank you for letting us know how pleased you are with our spacious apartments, great location, and excellent maintenance staff. We strive to ensure that our residents have a wonderful experience at our community and we are glad to know that our efforts are working.
Management really don't consider tenants as part of the community. Every year they will increase the rent and give reasons which doesn't make sense. The community playing and other recreation facilities sucks. If you ask them to change they will tell that they will do it next year which never comes. Just like many reviewers i agree the noises is too much in the apartments. The only reason to live in this apartment is its location.

We are committed to keeping the amenities in good condition at all times, including our olympic-sized pool, kiddie pool, dog park, sand volleyball court, and four playgrounds. Please feel free to contact me at 703-893-6440 if you would like to discuss further any suggestions or concerns you may have. Thank you. Sincerely, Starr Boyd.
We have been living at DM for 2 years. I cant say enough great things about Dolley Madison Apartments in Tysons, VA. (McLean, VA) First let me say the only reason we (Husband, wife, dog) moved here is because my sister lived in this community and the fact that SHE loved it and now.. so do we. To start, the management office is more than awesome. We see the same people in the office and they are consistently friendly and helpful. When we call, we are immediately talking to a staff member who knows what they are doing. They go above and beyond to be accomodating and truly caring for their tenants. Next, the maintenance staff is GREAT. Just like the office, they are responsive, respectful, professional, and fix any issues in a timely and efficient manner. I cant speak highly enough of thr staff here. Now... The apartments! We live in a one bedroom and a den. The kitchen is brand new updated with high standard craftsmanship plus new appliances! It is an older community so it has a lot of character details and charm on the inside and out. We have two beautiful french doors with a view of a manicured courtyard. AC and heat are never a problem so its always comfortable for us. The closet and storage space is more than we can ask for... And our square footage is unheard of nowadays for a one bedroom. The design of the apartments are just so well thought out with the tenants in mind. The neighborhood is the best.. Super quiet and safe. A lot of young families, newlyweds, and some older tenants who seem to have been living here for 10-15 years or more! We walk our little dog at night (past 9:30pm or later) and we always feel safe. They have street lights and building lights in the courtyards and the lots. They recently repaved the parking lot so its super smooth now. I love the attention to detail they put into the lawns and courtyards and even the front doors into the buildings are really heavy and luxe. Our neighbors are mostly all super friendly and we feel like we are part of a cummunity who all look out for each other. The cleaning crew is on the property EVERYDAY keeping the buildings and property looking polished at all times. When it snows, the crew is out and ready to go! What snow?? Amazing team Dolley Madison has! This apartment community would not be what it is without them. Thank you so much Dolley Madison for giving my family such a lovely place to call home. I dont know if we will ever find another place like this again.
