Property Ratings at Double Creek Flats Apartments
I lived at this property for nearly five years on the ground floor, paying extra for a garage. I did like it until end of 2023 and through my move out date Sept 2024. I always kept my account current and maintained a clean apartment. However, there were persistent issues, including a moldy bathroom and a leaking garage. The exterior building doors are insecure, as key fobs can be useless when the doors are unlocked by physical keys. It happened FREQUENTLY. While the maintenance team, especially Jamal, is excellent, noise from upper-level units with faux wood floors can be disruptive. Additionally, the pool remains unlocked during the season, allowing non-residents to use it freely—a poor decision. Community events were poorly promoted, and management changes occurred without notice, which was inconsiderate. Even 24-hour entry notices were sent only via email. If you have an issue, you have to follow up for results. Fire extinguishers used to be provided but not all Units get them. I did eventually get one in August right before i moved out LOL. See email from April saying they are working on it. Also install the dog park bench back..it's been like that for over 2 years.

I feel pretty safe with the security gates and the locked door into each apt building.
Office staff is friendly and courteous.
For what you get and what you’ll experience, Double Creek Flats is disappointing and way overpriced. The walls are so thin, you’ll hear neighbors coming up/down and in/out of the building along with their full conversations at all hours. At least once a week, we had the displeasure of smelling other people’s cooking in the halls and our apartment for several hours. You will get smells of others’ trash lingering in the halls well after the bins are inside after valet trash has long come and gone. The dumpsters are an issue with the compactor breaking and trash piling up outside of it. Management changed during our lease and the response from the office staff changed drastically. When bought with concerns, staff is rude and avoidant; “That needs to be addressed by the manager and she’s not here at the moment, but I’ll take a note to make sure it’s handled” was heard way too much with no resolution even if brought up multiple times. After speaking with other residents, they also said the same thing happens when they brought up their concerns (many of which the same) to the current management team. A big reason we moved to the complex was for the gated community and key fob doors/buildings as things were presented as safer. But when the gates and fob readers aren’t working correctly (surprisingly frequent and for long periods of time) that doesn’t help and the complex would really benefit from additional security measures as a whole. Our apartment was dirty when we moved in (carpets not vacuumed, pet hair all over the baseboards/ windows, dirty cabinets in the kitchen and bathrooms, leftover holes in the walls from the previous tenant, etc.) and management did not care or offer to correct it. The maintenance team was always been great and quick and the landscape is well taken care of on a regular basis. When the weather is warm, you will see couples, families, and pets out around the complex which is wonderful and was one of the selling factors for us.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that you have been dissatisfied with your stay. It sounds as though you may be located on the 1st floor near a point of entry to the building. Depending on what building you are in, your entryway can generate more traffic than others and I apologize for the noise you have experienced. We do have a non-optional valet trash service that has been a great feature with our community. Having this valet trash does help with the build up of trash at or around the compactor. Unfortunately, we are unable to control when residents dump items in any disorganized fashion, however, our maintenance team is always quick to respond and comes to the rescue! Things do happen that are unforeseen and technology does fail, so things like our compactor and/or gate entry/fob access has been inoperable for a short period of time, but again, we do work as quickly as possible to get it restored. Aside from the few qualms I have, I enjoy living here. I came from an apartment community that I did not feel safe or comfortable in. This apartment has been a huge upgrade and I'm happy with the experience this far. This being said, I would like to see some upgrades in how packages are received.
Parking was an issue when I first moved then. Then got a garage for an extra $125 a month just to be provided a parking spot when I came home some nights late.
The maintenance and the office staff go above and beyond to make living at Double Creek Flats feel like home.
Convenient for me since all the stores I shop at are close by. Also the community is very peaceful.

Sharing hallways (smells and people's trash), parking was always overcrowded, both community grills had parts broken on them. They had been like that our whole second year there.

I would because is, Secure, staff and maintenance are great!!! Apartments have great spaces.
the common areas are kept in top condition. I feel completely safe and comfortable on the premises. All my service requests are attended to in a timely manner. As a single woman living alone I appreciate All the services I receive. I'm glad I found this apartment community
Very clean, people are nice, and seems like a safe community.
I wish on the garages there was a key fob because too many cheese is just too much and only takes five seconds to someone come behind you
The grounds are very well kept up, the trash is never an issue and if by chance the compactor has trash on the outside it is never there long.
Great floor plans, spacious, good finishes and gated. Also the leasing consultant Kassidy was exceptional
The community lifestyle and environment stood out the most upon my first visit!

Most of my friends do not make enough money to be able to afford to live there. YES worth the money, but not enough money to afford to live there.

Only thing that bothered me about the apartment was the use of low quality building materials.Shingles constantly flying of roofs. Paint was a big complaint. Due to the fact that it was flat paint. Any little stain was impossible to clean without damaging walls. I don't feel the price of rent was proportional to the quality of building.

Thank you for your input. We have since gone to Behr Paint and we are working with IPL to make the apartments more energy efficient by getting Nest Programmable Thermostats as well as LED lights throughout and water saving aerators and showerheads. I wish you the best in your next community.

New residents are going downhill. They leave dog poop next to doorways, smoke inside, play load music early in the morning and park on sidewalks to make it difficult to get in garages.

The staff is very unprofessional and the apartments are not made well. Would not recommend this apartment complex. There are many options in the area and I would simply stay away from this one unless the management changes.

Despite my personal decision to leave its a beautiful apartment at a great location. The prices are better than the apartments around the area. The floor-plan wasnt conducive for a family.
50/50. It?s a nice place to live but awfully expensive and I don?t believe we get what we pay for.
