Recently moved after 4 years of living here and had nothing but a positive experience. Yes of course, you have a few bad eggs that live here but you will have that wherever you go. The difference here is any concern I ever had was addressed immediately. 99.9% of the tenants are wonderful people who make this property feel more like a community. Maintenance is very responsive with calls being addressed the same day. This is probably because Nicole, the Property Manager is the kindest, most understanding and professional person you will ever deal with. My apartment had been renovated prior to me moving in. Quality finishes, large closets, upgraded fire alarm system. I have no hesitation recommending this property.
Some tenants smoke cigarettes inside their units every day, and if you’re unfortunate enough to live near them, your apartment will smell like you’re the one smoking. The bathroom exhaust and fans pull in cigarette smoke, making it impossible to escape the odor. Opening windows won’t help either. The air remains filled with smoke, and spending time in certain areas of the apartment will leave you lightheaded with frequent headaches. After weeks of exposure, I’ve even developed sinus problems. Although the lease has a clear non-smoking policy, management does nothing to enforce it

I have not lived in an apartment complex in over 35 years so picking a place to live was a bit nerve-racking. Right from the start, Nicole the leasing manager was so accommodating and responsive to all my inquires (which I had many). The apartment had been completely renovated with beautiful granite counters in both the kitchen and bathroom. The grounds are wonderful and well kept. The people I have met here are friendly and the neighborhood is very quite. This is a place where you can feel safe and secure and still have all the conveniences close by.
I lived here for three years and was really happy with my experience. The apartment was absolutely spotless when I moved in. Neighbors were quiet and friendly. Snow removal and landscaping were well taken care of. The park across the street is a beautiful place to walk, run, picnic, etc. Maintenance requests were resolved within 1-2 business days, sometimes even within the same day.
Moving can be disruptive to organized individuals. A swirling mixture of excitement, doubt, anticipation and a bit of anxiety regarding the unknown...the new property owners. From my first drop-in to investigate availability, to last evening's confident nod to myself that this is going to be a great home, the Douglas Apartments Office Team were on point. Every individual is punctual, organized, attentive, quickly responsive, understanding, respectful and committed to their properties. In a world filled with mediocrity, it is inspirational.
Toured the complex very nice units love the wood floors and granite counter tops . Rooms are very spacious will be signing a lease was very impressed on the apartments.
Do not live here. Reported repairs and service are cheaply done if done at all. There is mold in the buildings. After being a responsible tenant for 5 years, we did not get our full deposit back. Meanwhile, there are troublesome neighbors causing noise disturbances and there is much theft in the area. Don't do it.
Great streaming of video throughout the showcase! I'm not yet a resident of The Douglas Commons, but I can clearly see that it would be a wonderful place to live. I'm seriously considering living at The Commons just on location alone. North Providence seems to me is a prime place to live if you want out of downtown, yet still highly accessible.
I've only been talking to the people over at Douglas Commons and they can't be more helpful. I've very impressed with their professionalism.
