East Stroudsburg is a fairly small borough in east-central Pennsylvania, roughly forty-five miles from Scranton and one hundred miles from Philadelphia. The borough is home to East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania, whose 7,000 students make up a significant portion of the population.
The small but vibrant Downtown district off of Cortland Street features a lively assortment of popular bars, restaurants, specialty shops, and the historic Pocono Cinema and Cultural Center. The neighboring town of Stroudsburg is full of many more options for your free time, just minutes down the road.
The community’s location in the Poconos puts you just minutes away from the region’s stunning hills and forests, making it easy to head outdoors for hiking, camping, boating, and fishing.

Property Ratings at Dream Mountain Hollow
If you prefer living in a community with clear guidelines about what can be placed on your front porch, then this is the right place for you. Expect to receive emails and texts regarding the prohibition of leaving items under your deck or on your porch by neighbors. Bears come and consume your trash. No one CLEANS the trash. Litter is scattered across the property, in the woods, on the roads, and along the "hiking trails." Septic alarms are sounding off throughout the night in empty townhomes. The septic system for the townhome across the street was never repaired. New tenants have moved in and were informed that "it is now their responsibility to fix it." Yet, there was an existing issue, as evidenced by the frequent activation of the alarm. No one utilizes their garage as a secondary parking space. The "overflow lot," which has two spots, is occupied by the tenants' cars. Consequently, there is no available parking for guests. During the first year, we were assured of shoveling and snow removal services. They were excellent, shoveling and plowing with efficiency. However, the second year saw the new owners opting for a cheaper snow removal service, which led to unsatisfactory results. If you don't mind missing work due to poor plowing, this place may be suitable for you, despite the fact that many residents travel out of state for work. The security deposit was reportedly dispatched, but it has not been received yet.

I resided at DMH for two years, and from the outset, it was fraught with issues. The property changed hands three times in the first year alone. Repeatedly, they misplaced our paperwork, necessitating constant resubmission of the correct documents. With each sale of the complex, the payment portal we used to pay our rent altered our monthly dues, despite my fixed-rate agreement. To secure a 3% rent increase in the second year instead of 15%, we paid extra for the Elite Program, which supposedly guaranteed this rate. We were told we'd receive a refund upon departure, but this turned out to be false. We later learned the program had been discontinued and our money was non-refundable.
