Property Ratings at Drexelbrook Apartments
Honestly just go somewhere else that at least has a pool. Looks nice on the outside but the walls are paper thin. Some noise is to be expected with apartment living and that’s one thing. It’s different when your neighbors are screeching banshees and management doesn’t care. They’ll pretty much just smile and say “that’s a shame” while not doing anything to address it. This place is not “quiet and charming” especially when you can hear the mice rummaging through your kitchen at night. Maintenance is at least responsive and the gym is okay considering it’s a bonus to your rent.

There has been a stink scent in front my apartment for months. No one knows why it’s there and they can’t fix it. Rats and they lied about send exterminator, instead they sent maintenance and the dead rats is everywhere. Maintenance lives in the apartment next door which is not safe. Thank God am about to move. Worst experience ever.

My son just move in and can’t have internet because you rent this apartment with unpaid bills from the tenant before him. Nobody cares, nobody is helping him, they only care about the money. What my son is supposed do in this situation???

Drexelbrook is a very nice and quiet location. But apparently we aren’t allowed to use bath mats in the tub. When I asked about slipping, they said “yes, you might slip…” why would you want your tenants to slip and fall?

Hi, We definitely care about your safety. Please reach out to us for clarification.
Overrated for the price although location is nice. I was cited for a noise complaint after one incident although I often hear noise during “quiet hours“. And I guess it’s OK that my apartment constantly smells like fish from the people cooking below me.

Not good. They purposely put people on month to month without letting them know.

Drexelbrook is clean and well kept. Maintenance is always Available. The leasing team is helpful and accommodating. Highly recommend
I've been living here for 5yrs now. Very friendly. Great place to live. The staff are friendly and helpful.
Terrible, dangerous living conditions. Mice live inside that run around on the table and beds, everywhere. One woman was bitten on the finger at night.
I liked living here a lot, it felt pretty safe and the neigborhood has a lot of nice trees around and access to darby creek. The biggest thing that drove me away was the battle I had to fight with roaches- some small and large. The exterminator practically sprayed me with insecticide one time they had to come, he was in such a hurry. I don't recommend exposing yourself to pesticide or roaches for cheaper rent.
Kitchens and bathrooms from the '90s with prices of a modern apartment. The washing machine lint trap and bathroom sink drain were full of previous tenants' "stuff". No thorough cleaning/disinfecting is done in between tenants. If someone moves out on the last day of the month, a new tenant is in within 2 weeks. Vestibules are not cleaned EVER, full of dust and insects/rodents. Have had issues with rodents since I moved in, exterminator was no help so I bomb regularly. Thank goodness for my cat or I'm sure we'd see mice. Rent was increased after only 1 year, I will not be renewing. Snow removal during this last winter was disastrous. If you are looking to move here make it temporary and have an exit plan.
I moved here because I thought the area would be nice for my son to play outside . But deers comes outside of my home during the day time. The apartments are pretty small and old looking inside . They have MICE. And my son is scared to even walk around our apartment. It’s a ton of bees outside during the summer when you want out . The deers are so scary. I literally clean up mice poop everyday in my apartment and I keep my apartment clean.
We went to view the apartment and turn in our application 3 days later and all of a sudden the prices changed which is fine but then she tells us now its a waiting list. When we were there she told us she would be able to get us in. The women in the office had a nasty attitude. Honestly i just feel as though they want your $50 application fee
When I moved in the management was pleasant. The new management is very rude and contentious. I moved out because I can't deal with them. I wonder how long it will take for the Drexel Brooks corporate office to realized that this new management is hurting their business.
Leasing office staff are unhelpful with anything you call them about. If you see them they always smile and say we will try and get that fixed for you, but then you have to re-call fifty times and still not fixed. Everything ended up going to you needed to pay more money. They fired 90% of their maintainace staff and then say they can’t fix anything on time because they don’t have staff, and simple maintenance issues you have to wait over a month. This place is rediculous. I am moving out and never ever looking back at this place again. This used to be a very good place a few years ago, had become a hell hole that provides absolutely no service except for asking for more money.
We had a two bedroom, and it was nice. The closets are huge, having a washer/ dryer in the apartment was wonderful, the kitchen was so nice. Parking was absolutely terrible, bordering on impossible...if you see an apartment during the day, just know parking at night is a whole different story! The mosquitoes are a literal nightmare, the ants bite?! and when we were leaving, surprise! there were bed bugs. Just know, our exterminator told us that bed bugs can sit in the cracks for months before they turn up. The trash room was so gross and we had to hop into it because the drain at the bottom of the steps never worked. Honestly though, other than the bed bugs that ruined my life, it was a good place. I hope you know a good exterminator!
We lived in this community for two years and after we decided not to sign a new lease, we went month to month for 3 months to move out November 2019. We loved the complex, the apartment and the area and would recommend living there with a few cautions. The management that ran the place and the new management are like night and day. With new management it is understandable that there would be changes; I think some good and some very bad. Now under the old management we were approved for a two bedroom because at the time of the application I worked from home but we down sized to a one bedroom because of a promotion I needed to be back in the office and at the time did not need the two bedroom, so we moved into a one bedroom apartment. The old management told us since my wife had just given birth to our son that after his first birthday we should remind them as the township would require us to be in a two bedroom and they would transfer us. In the passage of time the new management took over and when it came time to renew the lease the new management told us, we would need to pay a $500 fee to transfer. I asked the reason for the fee and got no straight answer from the management office. This was the principal reason for our move. Now I kept an immaculate apartment, and think my security deposit is mine unless I destroy your property. I have the pictures and will send them to the office to protest them changing me $98 from my deposit saying it was for a scratch of the stove. I wish I could post the pics here. So wherever you rent please be aware Managment offices don’t plan to give your deposit back. There was no need for them to charge anything from our money but I pray they will be blessed. I find this new management to lack customer service skills but I still think it’s a good place to live. The old management company would get 5 stars, I give this one 3.
Drexelbrook has reps that care what you’re looking for! Brittany was able to get me into a one bedroom apartment that’s a great size and in a great location. I feel safe with the 24/7 security that patrols the property.
I moved in to Drexelbrook with my daughter in August, 2019. I had to move in to Drexelbrook in such a short notice. Drexelbrook and there staff have been so accommodating and helpful, professional and kind. Ask for Brittany she has been such a big help. Thanks Drexelbrook
I have been here for a year now and about 6 months in everything was fine. After though bug and rodent issues have occurred. My unit is above the basement and now smells like the basement due to the central air system and also by the washer and dryer located in the apartment has a mildew/mold smell. Drexel brook is also under new management, which would seem like a good thing but actually is worse. They switched how they provide their rent invoices from being hand delivered via mail to email without letting anyone know so first month that they took over I received a late fee before I realized I had a invoice. Then I tried to set up auto pay through the website that they provided and it wouldn't allow me and on top of that they charge a $40 convenience fee so I was late again after being frustrated. I complained onto deaf ears, I paid my rent but not the late fee and then received a email stating they will take me to court and evict me over $100 late fee as well as they charged me a additional $50 late fee for not paying the original late fee. I have never missed a payment until they took over. Realizing that you are transitioning a whole community into a new system and a new way of doing things you should know that there will be issues i'm not the only one as you can see from other residence that have issues with rodents, bugs, or late fees due to communication issues on Drexel Brooks part. Hold yourself as a management group to the same standards that you hold your residence.
I’ve lived at Drexelbrook for close to five years, and have nothing but positive things to say. Whether it is the promptness of the helpful and professional Management Office, especially Megan, to being close to a Trolley stop, and convenience of the gym hours. I always enjoy coming home to the well kept grounds and spotting the occasional deer. I would highly recommend this property!
I moved here recently and found the staff to be quite helpful and friendly. Ask for Connie, she's the best! She was very professional, responsive, understanding, and kind. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful. There are lots of trees and bushes that are maintained. It's a great place to walk or ride your bicycle. I feel safe in this community. The speed bumps are a helpful way to stop people from driving too fast. Security drives around the complex throughout the day and there are adequate lamp posts. The apartment was in excellent condition upon our arrival. It seemed small when viewing the apartment without furniture, but with careful planning and proper placement of the furniture, it's very comfortable! I rarely hear noise in the apartment above me. It's affordable and quiet. I have seen a few centipedes but no other pests. You are allowed to have a cat which is nice. The one thing I don't like is the disposal of trash. You have to walk it to a dark basement. If it were adequately lit, then I wouldn't have any issues. My son did come up with a very cool idea that would take this community to another level, a community garden!
Absolutely terrible. Management is completely cold and will force you to keep up your end of the lease, without doing their part. They threatened to tow my car when it had a flat tire for a few days, have entered the apartment without giving notice on many occasions, threatened to make us pay for repairs for an issue that ended up being a leak in the plumbing, and are making us pay a late fee when the bill was received late, and threatened to turn off our gas. I tried asking for understanding on the late fee, given their failure to give us the bill on time, but was told no and they denied responsibility for any of the other problems.

The Drexelbrook Management Team consistently makes a concerted effort to provide each of our Residents with the best possible Customer Service to make their living experience in the Drexelbrook Residential Community an enjoyable one. In regard to the post above: • When Drexelbrook Security personnel and other community residents report vehicles that are not in compliance with the Residential Lease, we attempt to contact the resident vehicle owner to inform them that actions must be taken. Our goal is to have the Drexelbrook Community as visually appealing as possible at all times; • When emergencies are reported, such as leaks, Drexelbrook must enter apartments in order to attempt to correct the necessary repairs. Our Maintenance Department reaches out as quickly as possible to notify residents that we are entering their apartment due to the emergency. If there is negligence by the resident to cause damage to any apartment, charges may be applied according to the Lease. No charges were applied in this case; and, • Rental statements are generally delivered around the 25th of each month to the apartments (in this case, 1/25/2018). Like most or all rental communities, monthly Rent is due on the first of every month. We give our residents a grace period to the fifth (5th) day at 5:00PM of every month before late charges are applied. We believe this policy is quite generous and has worked very well for the vast majority of residents in Drexelbrook for many years. If you would like to discuss any of your concerns in person again, please contact us directly at 484.532.5560.
I have lived here since 2003 and have never had a problem. The office staff have always been helpful and friendly and maintenance is great. Problems are taken care of quickly and efficiently. It is conveniently close to everything. Sometimes parking can be tough and the newly installed speed bumps took some getting used to. I have a one bedroom that is spacious and I am happy with it. The rugs could use some updating as well as paint after 13 years. I will look into that. I would recommend Drexelbrook as a nice place to make your home. If you are looking for convenience, cleanliness and peace of mind this is the place for you
This apartment has been wonderful since I moved in last November! The maintenance is quick at the draw to fix problems, the landscapers keep the grass looking great and the apartments are spacious and well maintained. I love that it has quick access to route 1 to get to Philly and Media and everything is within distance; Sunoco, Chickies & Petes, Wells Fargo Bank etc. The only issues I have with living here are the one ways and multiple speed bumps when driving, it can be an annoyance..but other than that you get exactly what you pay for..comfort, cleanliness, and quality.
The apartment has a lot of space but if you get one that has not been renovated you will have to pay to update to things like 3 prong outlets or doors with appropriate locks. Also there are many street changes going on so make sure to ask the right questions or you could have to drive in circles just to get out.
My fiancé and I love this apartment! We have 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom with a washer, dryer, and dishwasher in our apartment. In the buildings basement we have a storage unit that comes with our apartment. We plan on making the second bedroom a nursery after we are married next fall. Drexelbrook is an amazing community, our neighbors are so friendly, and the setting is so peaceful. We can't wait to start our family here!
Nothing to special, just a nice little community. Depending on if your apartment is near a parking lot or not parking can be awful. Central air, dishwasher and W/D available in unit. You'll have to buy your own blinds.
