Property Ratings at Dublin Plaza
The property is fine for the area, though new pricing is steep and is likely to make many unable to afford it. Property manager Patricia is lovely to work with and made my 6 years there really easy. She stayed on when the new management company took over, but nothing below is directed at her. I got a new job that required me to move over 100 miles away. My lease had two months left on it, but the new job could not wait just because my apartment was still leased. I gave notice as soon as possible (they do not allow subletting either), and the apartment was rented before I even moved, with the new tenant scheduled to take possession 2 weeks after I turned in keys. A few weeks later I received a bill for outstanding utilities (which I expected), as well as a "break lease" fee equal to one months rent. I emailed, disputing this charge since the apartment had already rented and they would only miss two weeks worth of rent. I was very disappointed in the chilling and unkind response that I received from the District Manager about my being charged exorbitant fees for “breaking a lease”, despite the new job 100 miles away. (I thank the complex manager, Patricia, for attempting to get the fees waived due to my excellent tenancy at Dublin Plaza.) I will not be renting from any Harbor Group complexes in the future, nor will I recommend them to any colleagues, family, or friends. Apparently, when you live in a Harbor Group apartment, you should only look for work elsewhere when your lease is getting ready to come due. Otherwise, expect them to double dip and demand a “breaking the lease” fee of 1-2 months rent, or more, when you leave, even if they have rented your old unit out before you have even moved. For all of this madness, I am dropping my rating to 1 star.
Property Manager at Dublin Plaza, Responded To This Review
Thank you for your feedback. We will share your kind words with Patricia and know they will mean the world to her. We do apologize that the terms of your lease agreement became an inconvenience however we have a responsibility to enforce the terms of the lease consistently. We understand ‘life happens’ and, for that reason, we offer a lease break option, which we are not obligated to do. The lease break option is a fantastic solution, for example, when 6 months into a 12 month lease; unfortunately, the timing of your move did not make the lease break option as beneficial as it often is. We are disappointed that the enforcement of your lease terms otherwise sullied 6 years of comfort and satisfaction but we would like to thank you, sincerely, for making your home with us for 6 years.
I used to like it here. However, parking has become an issue, people have dogs that aren’t allowed, rent keeps increasing and nothing is being done to improve the building. The hallways have had large sections of paint missing since I moved in 3 years ago. I wouldn’t care about an increase if it were going to improve the property. But obviously that’s not where the money goes.

I live in a nice area but my apartment is only 700 square ft with no dish washer and no washer and dryer its about 50 yrs old cracked walls too but love the people and area I've been here 14 yrs I can't afford to move at least I can have my pets here my babies
I just recently got acquainted with Dublin Plaza Apartments, I will say I was skeptical at first but once I went and checked out the apartment I was pleasantly surprised! It's my first apartment and I love it already. It's a great location, surrounded by businesses. The apartment manager Patricia is really nice and courteous. It's a great first apartment.
I have lived here many years in the same building. I was initially attracted to it because of the low rent with gas and water included (don't get too excited, they cancelled that years ago). It was kind of dumpy, but nice enough for the price. The office manager, Galina, is maybe the sweetest person you will ever meet. She knows everyone's name and what apartment they live in. Whatever her pay is, it's not enough. I have a lot of storage and a spacious apartment for a very low price. Also, it is not a section 8 building, which may make me bougie, but it was important to me. I have largely been pleased with my time here, until recently. I don't know if it is because I am getting older and am more persnickety than I used to be, but I'm really getting disgusted with the condition of my building. Now, understand that these are old buildings and won't have all of the amenities that newer or more expensive places have. Fine. They keep up appearances in the 1340 building, because that is where the leasing office is. I don't know what 1350 looks like. But 1360 is freaking disgusting. The carpet in the hallways looks like it was installed in 1975. There are cobwebs all over. There are MANY unpatched holes and nicks in the walls. There are dead bugs (including cockroaches) that I have been monitoring for several months now....they have not budged, despite Plaza Properties' claim that they have a cleaning crew. There is a stair where the covering had fallen off and is now just rotting wood...also several months. In the laundry room, there are two dryers that must have been installed the year they were invented. They melt everyone's clothes - literally - and leave black marks and a bad smell to your clothes. So don't use them...not that it matters, because they were out of service for two years until recently. Daytime, regular maintenance staff is great, but off-hours emergency maintenance is contracted out, so good luck getting them to come out for any emergency that isn't a gas leak. Including if your only toilet breaks and you have diarrhea. And, to top it off, good luck complaining to the main office...they don't care! Plaza Properties is huge and own a lot of residential and commercial properties. What's the loss to them if you don't resign your lease? Nothing, some other poor schnook will come along within the next few weeks to occupy the apartment. And in summary, I honestly believe I will turn up with bedbugs at some point before my current lease is up and I can Move somewhere else. Make sure you walk through all of the buildings before you sign the lease, and don't be afraid to refuse to live in certain buildings (*cough1360cough*).
