The noise issue is a big issue. I brought this issue up to the management team. Nothing was improved I really wished to move out of this complex. but they ask me to transfer. After transfer there were unexplained fee charges.

the duet community is so friendly and kind, neighbors helped me carry boxes when i was moving in and i have never experienced that level of kindness at any other apartment complex in SoCal.
It a beautiful property, with a amazing management team. Repairs are handled immediately and I'm happy to call diet home

While the building is placed in a center part of Hollywood, and the units are a good size- management lacks ability to keep the building clean. No longer has a cleaner come by multiple times a week, it’s now once if we’re lucky. Allow tenants to leave trash and have over sized animals relieve themselves in the halls.

It's been one problem after another with the building and the management
This place is a nightmare, the office doesn't respond to phone calls or emails, even the corporate office doesn't respond. The place is filthy with garbage everywhere. You can find something better!
Devin and Beverly are fantastic, professional and they made the rental process easy! All questions were answered in a timely manner and the property itself is a value for the price. People who live in the building seem friendly (held doors, elevator etc on move in and answered random questions helpfully) on move in and seem happy to be living there. Maintenance is always in the area cleaning the exterior and was helpful as well. Here's how we choose the Duet on Wilcox - After looking in the area for a studio, this property was slightly more than we were willing to pay but after seeing it, you could understand why. Simply put, it was $100 more per month than the others but in comparison it felt like a value of $500 more. We took the place right away - both Devin and Beverly assisted through the rental process and if one was off, the other responded. So far so good:)
If you could give 0 stars, I defintely would. I don't even know where to start. Since we moved into our apartment in the beginning of January we have had problem after problem. The air conditioning/heating in the living room didn't work and the one located in of the bedrooms didn't work properly either. We put in two work orders, maintenance came but they never actually fixed it. The air-conditioning/heating in the living room never worked. We put the one in the bedroom on 80 degrees and it still blows mostly cold air. Having no heating in winter in unbearable. We slept wearing sweaters and were still cold. Our toilet didn't flush and it took maintenance two days to fix it. Furthermore, our electricity is very unstable. We lose power weekly. I had to leave to my aunt in Orange County once, because of these problems. I went to talk to security to get emergency maintenance, because they weren't answering my phone calls. Even security didn't know who to call. Maintenance came and checked our power system once and told us that we should 'just' reset it when it happens. We don't use a lot of devices that need power, but it still happens. The outlets in our bathroom never got fixed. Our hallways smell like weed all the time. On top of this we can't live in peace or have a decent amount of sleep because of the noise in the building. Our neighbors are screaming and stamp footing all night long. We didn't keep filling in work orders, because it is useless. Nothing actually gets fixed. The management staff is very unfriendly. They are nice until you sign your lease and afterwards they don't care anymore. Because of all the problems we had, they send us an e-mail that we would be compensated in a few days' worth of rent. This never happened. A couple of weeks ago, we got a notice that they were going to do a fire alarm check THE NEXT DAY and that we would get a fine if we wouldn't be at home. How do they expect you to make time in such a short notice? I ended up missing school because of this. This apartment is not even worth half the price we are paying for it and moving in here was a huge mistake. I can't wait to get out of here.
Stay away from this complex, management, and maintenance. Unprofessional, horrible. Randy Property Manager does not bear any semantic load on the workflow. They made repairs in the building, they ransacked the prices, but the building itself is terrible. For the same money, I can rent in a new building East Town, which is located closer to the metro, cleaner and newer.
I moved just here during the renovating process and takeover by new ownership and they’ve made all changes to reflect the value of living in a comfortable and luxious building. Liz is the manager and she has been the crutial part of the transition developing a great office staff, a new security company, and friendly and helpful maintainable staff. Randy who is in charge of maintaince couldn’t be more professional and attentive to anything needed. There isn’t a better place in the area to live and I’ve done a lot of apartment hunting. Take a visit and meet the office staff who are super friendly and caring about how the people that live here. My lease is expiring and I’m renewing because my home has become even more enjoyable to live in since I first moved with all the great changes. 5 star complex.
I pay my rent early every month, however, still multiple times they have claimed to not have received my check, I get charged a $75 late fee and then they somehow find the check! What a great way to treat your loyal and responsible residents. Oh, and when you go in the office to ask for an update and check the status of their slow work, they are frequently taking breaks, not answering calls, or focussing entirely on new clients, not existing residents with outstanding issues. I didn't listen to the reviews but really wish I did... for the price, and even the location there are many better options, go across the street, there are better companies, with better management and friendlier staff who don't act like your an inconvenience! Liz in the office is terribly inconsiderate towards myself, even another resident I overheard before me talking about her dog, she was condescending to her! DO NOT RENT HERE... STAY FAR AWAY! IT LOOKS NICE, BUT ONCE YOU GET IN THEY TREAT YOU WITH DISRESPECT. Great training Waterton company...
I actually wrote a review on this building last year when I lived across the street at the 1750 building. Now, I have moved over to 1745 because I wanted the nicer pool and fitness center but I regret moving over here every single day. DO NOT live in this building. The management is horrible, rude, incompetent, and extremely unhelpful. It also appears the turnover with staff in the leasing office is VERY high. I don't think I've ever seen the same person twice. Cockroaches, waterbugs, and more live in this building. Which ironically someone did warn me of but I didn't listen. The nice pool and semi-nice fitness room are a disguise, do not let it fool you. This is my 4th apartment living in LA and never have I been more disgusted and scared to be in my apartment. I had the apartment sprayed, and it did nothing. It's just too old of a building at this point. Mail gets stolen left and right whether its someone stealing from right outside your door or from the actual mailbox. The parking garage is a mess. Water is shut off almost every day so if you work from home or are ever home during the day you'll most likely be unable to access water at some point during the day. Honestly my list of reasons why not to live here could go on and on but I'll keep this short and hope my point gets across. Don't say you weren't warned!
AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Used to be a totally tolerable community, no frills, but comfortable. Since Waterton Mgmt acquired these buildings, they have installed condescending and manipulative office staff and made maintenance an issue super low on their priority list. Obvious that all the company cares about is profit. They moved in, jacked up the rent, and I have seen the quality of the facilities and community degrade exponentially since. Re-signed a lease in March with extreme reservations about doing so, and unfortunately, my gut instinct has been proven correct. Pray you don't end up in any situation where the Community Manager takes an idiot air and tries to convince you they are running a "professional business here." While that is exactly what they think they're doing, his willingness to share that idea exposes Waterton's attitude towards residents and community - that those are consistently held as second to extorting an insane amount of rent money from unsuspecting renters. Which they make a practice of - I've now over-heard leasing agents flat out lying about building features and services to prospective renters on tours. Anything that made this place special, historic even, has been absolutely drained out of this spot. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!
best location in Hollywood busy area but very calm in the complex stuff are friendly nice pool and gym reasonable rent prices recommended more for young people not suitable for families with children private parking best area for party people
First, GREAT location, near pharmacy, gas station, shops, grocery stores, and everything else cause Hollywood blvd is your cross street. BUT, because of this noise level is high..you hear it all, walls are thin so you really do hear everything. Second, lol walls are thin so pray you get a good neighbor next to you and above you. Thirdly, it has security and under ground parking so yay. Forth, it's hall ways has what feels like holes under the carpet in a few areas so if you have heels be careful. Next, Great maintenance and staff, updated appliances, and many events to show appreciation to guests. So bitter sweet pros and cons. depends what your okay and not okay with.
I live across the street at the 1750 building which is a little more updated than the 1745 building. However my building does not have the fitness center as the 1745 does. Both buildings have a pool but my buildings pool is very small and the deck area is unreasonably small so we always walk over to use the large pool at the 1745 building. My apartment is a very small studio with no closet space but I had room for a wardrobe so it made up for the small closet. All of the amenities are very nice and current. It's within walking distance to everything in Hollywood. I would recommend to anyone.
If you're looking for convenience, history and prestige, then you're looking for Vida Hollywood. Convenience: walking distance to a chic coffee shop, cuisine from every nation you can think of, shopping, chic nightclubs, and the Metro Red Line. History: this is truly the HEART of Hollywood, smack inbetween the bustling tourists at the Hollywood/Highland center and the applauding audiences at the famous Pantages Theater. Steps from the legendary Walk of Fame, and within sight of the iconic Hollywood sign and the Capitol Records tower. Prestige: You get a real Hollywood address, with Hollywood Hills residents to the immediate north and world-famous film studios to the immediate south. Your neighborhood is at once a filming location, and also a neighborly community with a s "small town" feel. Units at the VIDA area great value, with access to amenities such as onsite laundry, covered parking and a stunning pool. Did I mention pet-friendly? What else could you ask for!
Great location. Literally right off of Hollywood Blvd, very convenient and in walking distance to multiple marts and places to eat as well as popular bars and a few clubs. Really like the size and layout of the rooms. If I were to draw out a downside I'd say it's probably the office's reliability (record keeping, service, etc). That being said, it's not awful I just find myself having to figure out why they don't have rent I paid under record or trying to figure out why the tv in the gym won't change. Other than that great place!
over priced for what we recieve. The building is from the 80's and is showing age. The management is less than helpful and the neighbors are always partying in spite of the noise policy.
When I was moving to Los Angeles to attend film school, I was looking for an apartment complex within walking distance to my school and one that would be in a safe area with amenities such as a pool, gym, and laundry being a bonus. I found all of this at Vida! The team in the office is more than helpful and friendly and made moving in a simple process. This is not a quiet complex and it is a very youthful population but personally that's another bonus for me. If you are looking for peace and quiet and moved to Hollywood you are in for a rude awakening.
Bed bugs are everywhere at this property. Management does nothing.
