I've lived at this apartment for a while, and my experience has been a mix of highs and lows. On the plus side, the location is very central—close to restaurants, shops, and public transportation, which is super convenient. However, being so close to a large homeless population made me feel unsafe at times, especially as a single female. Unfortunately, I also dealt with some frustrating maintenance issues. When I first moved in, there was a significant delay in getting my fridge fixed, which caused my food to spoil. On top of that, I've had issues with rats and roaches, which has been a huge concern. That said, I do feel that management is making an effort to improve the situation. They seem to be working hard to build a stronger sense of community for the tenants, which I appreciate. Overall, while there are some good aspects, the safety concerns and pest problems are hard to overlook.

Their portal never allowed me to accept my lease renewal and I emailed them about it. Now, I am forced to pay MTM until they can get their system fixed. I have to shell out more money upfront because their system doesn't function. Not to mention, that I discovered the $320 MTM fee that Scottsdale charges that I also have to pay. They said that I will have to pay late fees if I don't keep up with the MTM. I better not get charged for this new trash service they have going on now. I didn't ask for this. The maintenance guy is good though.

I’ve been living here for the past 5 months and I love it! The location is unbeatable, im so close to everything and the. Best part is that the complex is tucked back in a little neighborhood. I do wish the units were a little more updated and there was in unit washer/dryer. Lastly management is so helpful and responsive! I’ve worked with Brenda a few times I’ve had any issues and she got things solved immediately!
When I called the manager was so sweet. She answered all my questions and never made me feel like I needed to hurry. When I arrived for my appointment she showed me all the amenities this community has to offer. My move date is still a mystery but Dwell is at the top of my list.

Nick might be the nicest guy I've met, super helpful and even though we had an issue with the chiller (maybe due to the storms during monsoon season) he made sure to keep everyone updated via text and emails. Even bought Jimmy John's for everyone if they wanted to hang out in the leasing office to cool down. They have had free ice cream trucks and a ($3)taco truck since I've moved in; less than three weeks ago, and nicely maintained grounds for pets and picnics.

If you want to deal with cockroaches, constant ‘water fountains’ from sprinkler leaks, an ugly parking lot as your backyard, and a leasing office who doesn’t address any of your concerns, you can sign a lease today! Our apartment flooded while we were there, which could happen at any apartment. However, most apartments won’t take over a month to fix it, making the bathroom unusable the whole time they were ‘working’ on it. Find somewhere better to live.

I cant write how terrible this place is in such a small amount of characters allowed. If you come here, you will be overcharged, your apartment will be old and crummy and moldy and open holes in the bottom of the walls, maintenance in your house all the time, because you're having issues or your neighbors are and they need to find it from your place. You have a guest over too long? you will get a 10 day notice on your door. tow notices on your cars for multiple reasons. I was nothing but harassed in this place and i was on time every month and quiet. you can hear your neighbors like you live with them. No insulation means MASSIVE electric bills. I could go on for ever. Rewash clothes 2x, re dry clothes 3-6 x depending on the dryer. costs about $20 to do laundry.

Then issues at this complex have increased dramatically since new management took over again in March 2018 (not that any of us were notified of new management). We had had our neighbor threaten to shoot us with a gun, come at use with a broomstick and threaten us, throw rocks at other individuals' animals, and the list goes on. But when I file MULTIPLE complaints about this individual because the lease clearing states they will provide a safe and healthy environment as well as you cannot threaten anyone with violence or with a weapon. The leasing office states because THEY do not feel we are in danger, then that is our problem. Their ONLY solution to the situation is to move us into a new apartment and be charged a higher rate of anywhere from $50 to $150 PER MONTH in a different apartment. We had had our air conditioning break twice now within exactly a month. The first time it took them 5 days to fix it. FIVE DAYS. Our apartment reached over 106 degrees inside. They gave us a portable unit after 3 days (finally) which cooled 1 room down to 90 degrees. That was it. Three weeks ago I witnessed 4 Scottsdale Police vehicle at the apartments & watched an individual aggressively roll a gurney down the steps with a deceased individual in it, but were we notified of anything? No. New management has now taken away all the trash cans outside by the mailboxes because individuals were filling them with things other then paper (such as household trash) I witnessed our violent neighbor party all day and drink (alcohol not permitted in common areas nor are glass containers) and throw all his bottles in the trash causing it to overflow. Daily I pick up litter and trash everything throws on the ground and beer bottles shoved in bushes and shattered glass. But yes, take away the trash cans. Makes sense, right? Instead of I don't know, putting a recycle bin anywhere for residents to use, they get rid of the trash cans. As a previously individual stated the trash was not picked up for over two weeks. It piled over all the dumpsters as I witness maintenance even taking mattresses out of one dumpster and transferring it to another to try to make some extra room. Supposedly the trash company refused to come because Dwell "forgot" a $100 charge. Instead of notifying anyone, again nothing was done. I could go on for another 3 pages worth explaining what is wrong with these apartment complexes but its best said just to avoid them at all cost.
Can you give a place zero stars? I've had roaches in this place. The worst problems with ownership and maintenance ever. A few light bulbs went out in my apartment it literally took me going in five times and 5 work orders to get it done. Unless you get mad at them they don't do anything. I had a shower broken and it took them two months to even come look at it. I've been here for four years and every 6 months management changes and that's always their excuse. Do not move here, also cops are always here
My fiancé and I recently moved here from Tempe and it was the best decision we've made! The rent here is cheaper and the apartments/neighborhood are so much nicer! The management staff are great and friendly. There are tons of renovations going on as well, which I think may increase rent with our new lease, but we will see. They're currently painting the exterior, growing new grass, adding in energy efficient toilets, adding a dog park, adding in updated BBQ grills and seating. Looks pretty neat so far. My only complaint would be the washer/dryers don't take debit or credit cards and the dryer's don't dry clothes thoroughly. Our neighbors keep to themselves, it's a great quiet community. I would highly recommend moving here.
We moved in about 6 months ago. We love our apartment. It is the perfect size for us. Lots of washers & dryers in the laundry room. New management is awesome. We love how their is great communication between management and residents. Maintenance is always responsive to our needs. Can't beat the location & the price! We have and will continue to recommend Dwell!
I moved into Dwell apartments earlier this summer. It's the first time I've been able to live on my own. So far it has been the best decision I've ever made. Everyone here is extremely friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend living here.
Our apartment is perfect size for us. We love living at Dwell. Some of our neighbors aren't very kind, but that goes with the territory. The maintenance & office staff are very nice and accomodating. I would definitely recommend this property.
There is a lot I have been wanting to say about the Dwell Apartments. When we first signed our lease we were helped by a guy named Paul who we later found out was basically a temp worker for the complex. His lack of thoroughness resulted in us being charged for two dogs even when we only had one. The worse part of that whole ordeal is when we finally caught that mistake, the manager told us "tsk-tsk, that's what you get for not properly reading a contract." I was pretty put off by that attitude, and didn't think we should've been made to be the ones at fault. Anyway, it seems like by reading some reviews that their management has changed (apparently it changes a lot). So maybe those types of issues won't be a problem anymore. The buildings themselves are very old. Drains don't work too well (we had our bathroom sink and bathtub clog a few times in the 6 months we were there). You will hear EVERYTHING that goes on in your building. We had the pleasure of having our bedroom window next to our neighbors front door. They apparently had 18 kids that would stomp up and down the stairs, slamming the front door and rattling the whole building. We made a complaint to the office and nothing was done. When we first moved into our unit our closet door was off its tracks and we had a can of roach spray still in our bathroom (how thoughtful). The one positive thing about this place is that the maintenance crew is very friendly and helpful. For what we were paying (and for some reason you couldn't pay your rent before the day it was due..) we figured we could be getting much better quality of living. We eventually decided to cut our lease short and move out. I wouldn't recommend this place unless you ABSOLUTELY don't have any choice.
They are great people and will work with you. They are awesome and i like living there. The maintenance are effective and gets the job done. Clean and no bugs!!!
I really enjoy my apartment, it's spacious, quiet and centrally located. A quick hop to Old Town, Mill Ave. and Downtown. Thick walls mean I don't hear my neighbors and there's easy access to pools, laundry and amenities. Parking isn't assigned which can be frustrating, but not the end of the world, and there are a ton of stray cats in the complex but otherwise I love it here!
