Norristown is a suburban community that really is close to everything: Philadelphia is only about 45 minutes away by car, and SEPTA rail service is available from multiple stations around town. In addition to the convenient proximity to the big city, Valley Forge National Historic Park and King of Prussia Mall are practically right next door.
Closer to home, Main Street and Marshall Street are home to several locally-owned shops and restaurants in an attractive, walkable setting, with many historic buildings nearby as well. Attractions such as Elmwood Park Zoo and large parks like Norristown Farm give residents plenty of opportunities to enjoy time outdoors, right in their own backyard.

Property Ratings at Eagle Stream Apartments
Lived here for two years and they don't prioritize AC fixes during the summer. The maintenance, and really the upper management aren't the best. If you're looking for a cheap and decent apartment I would recommend here. Kitchens are tiny but rooms are decent sized. Just don't count on your AC being fixed in the middle of summer at 90 degrees. Everyone I know who's lived here had their AC go out at least once.
The Apartments are Dated. Keep in mind these Apartments were Probably Built in the early 1970's The Same for a small amount of Duplexes. For the Rental Price it's Somewhat Comfortable Living. It's a Bit Deceiving because the Property is well groomed outside. As for the Apartment Bldgs and the Duplexes Again Very Dated. Nothing Gets Updated. Even more the Maintenance has a Lot to be Desired. The Office Staff Often are Kirt when answering the phone.
Every metal vent and hinge in the apartment was rusted and then simply spray-painted over, found that out a month after moving in. Parking lot has massively flooded 7 times in the past year, nothing has been done to mitigate this. All appliances very dated. Terrible air flow. Every time someone is sent to 'fix' something, it's a bandaid job that causes new problems. Location is close to lots of stuff - literally the only good part, the units themselves are terrible.
I lived there for one year, aug 2012-aug 2013. Pros: 1.Almost zero noise from neighbors. Concrete floors and brick walls do wonders for privacy. As do having good people where you are. Most of the tenants are very nice. 2. Quiet neighborhood. An apartment complex surrounded by houses make for a quiet place to live. very secure. 3. Most everything you could want is within 3 miles. From post office to walmart, and all the way to the Philly expo center. 4.Massive parking lot. my apartment was out front and i NEVER had to look for a parking spot. Cons: 1. Maintenance is hit or miss. Approx half of my issues were resolved. I informed the girls at the front of my issues and they would dispatch maintenance. Broken screen door (replaced), Broken vertical blinds were replaced after i spoke to the maintenance person myself (weeks after informing the office 2 seperate times). he was replacing the air filter in the furnace and I asked him when i would get new blinds. He said he was never told about them. improperly installed outlet in the bathroom still hasn't been fixed and the refrigerator is still leaking internally. i have a bowl that has been catching water in the fridge so it doesn't leak everywhere. It's been a couple months and i have informed the office a couple times. 2. Occasional bugs running around. But i feel you will get those everywhere you go. I never asked for the pest control person. i just dealt with it. 3. adequate laundry rooms. 3 washing machines and 2 dryers in my building. when i do laundry i do quite a bit at a time. a couple more machines would have been appreciated. Bottom Line: I'm not disappointed. Overall , in my opinion, it was a very good deal for what i paid. if it weren't for the fact that i have to leave, i could certainly see myself staying here for quite some time.
