Dallas is one of the largest cities in America, combining urban sophistication with an incomparable Texan personality. Dallas is an altogether unique blend of cultures, styles, and flavors, with more than one million people calling the city proper home.
Living in Dallas puts you right in the thick of it all, with endless options to customize your experience. Corporate professionals seeking to avoid long commutes may want to look for apartments in Downtown or Uptown, which are both home to major business centers as well as residential communities, affording many residents walkable access to work. Culture enthusiasts should consider apartments near the Dallas Arts District, which is home to the Nasher Sculpture Center, the Dallas Museum of Art, the Winspear Opera House, and more. Creatives may enjoy places like Old East Dallas and North Oak Cliff, where artistic pursuits abound.
Dallas offers some of the most diverse nightlife in Texas, from laid-back lounges to thumping night clubs.

Property Ratings at East Dallas Collection
They only have 4 reviews I am surprised. See my email below: I received information about the gas issue and boiler problem but still would like to know how are we residents being off set with this problem and inconvenience. We not only have to refrain from parking in certain areas but we have not been able to utilize our stoves/ovens/ and fireplaces for almost a month now. I am sure we will still get charged for these services regardless because I have yet to see that something will be done to reimburse us for these services. That being said a small grab and go breakfast during times that most people are already at work is not comparable to not being able to cook our own breakfast for our family in the comfort of our own home. I guess I will take to google again to warn future seekers as this community is definitely not habitable and of if I wasn’t going to get charged for breaking my lease I would have last month. In addition I am being warned that there is someone in my section that possibly has a roach infestation and the problem is being “worked” once they identify where it is coming from. The pest control man did not say it directly but I can put two and two together.
I have been living at Verandah Flats for going on two years now. My first review was due to fault from previous management but recently the property got sold and I feel like things are better. Shoutout to William my maintenance man who has helped me with my clogged shower (due to having long hair it easily gets clogged.) He is extremely friendly, helpful, and efficient. Also very pleased with the gentleman working in the office, I believe he is the property manager but I forget his name. He is also very helpful and understanding. I love this new staff we got. Thank ya'll!!!
We have been promised heat since November 27th, 2023. Today is December 28th, and still NO HEAT! The fountain in the courtyard has not worked for over 6 months, and is now black water full of scum. The lighting in the courtyard has not worked, nor the porch lights, since mid-summer. It's pitch black at night. The security gates are broken 80% of the time, so no real security in the complex. All of these issues have been shared with staff management, with a disregard to the requests. You are always told "we're working on it". There is no regard for resident comfort. I highly encourage anyone to ignore this property.
I am no longer living at any power properties/180 properties because of the magnitude of issues. Living in an apartment and paying $1300 a month the basics of living would be covered. Pest infestation, facilities working, security, regular maintenance. Pest infestation: I have had fleas in my apartment (I don’t own an animal) that have bit my ankles forced me to strip my entire apartment apart to bomb so they would go away but they keep coming back. I have had cockroaches live with me through my entire stay. I have been so accustomed to cockroaches that I don’t have to chase them around with a shoe to kill, I can just pick them up and through them in the trash to take out to the dumpster. I had rats and racoons in my vents die where my apartment smelled so bad, I had to book a hotel room because it was bad. I’ve called multiple times and all I heard was it was being fixed. Didn’t allow me to submit a maintenance request Security: There has been two incidents at the complex of gun violence. Both times the apartment complex did not send any kind of memo out to the tenants. One night it was so bad that I had a person running in front of my apartment being chased and I slept in my bathtub for the rest of the night. Ever since that night I have issues with sleeping. Regular maintenance: My toilet was broken for 8 days before being fixed. I had the ceiling fall in my apartment. Whenever I ask if anything is going to be fixed around here, I get the same update that they are working on other properties to get them maintained properly. I then drove by the office and outside the Greenhouse property they are planting palm trees. Priorities, washer and dryers over palm trees doesn’t make sense… I get it. The complex will try and write a response saying I can contact them to talk more or sorry for my experience, but I already spent over $17000 for a horrible experience. I suggest staying away from these people. Any of the 180 apartments any of the old power properties, stay far away. Go someplace, spend the extra money, and live somewhere else. I wish I did so myself. 180 don’t respond to this post, if you want to say you’re sorry. Don’t say this was previous ownership either because all issues were address to 180. How about you go into your files and look for my maintenance reports for any of the issues above and give me some of my money back for not fulfilling your duty as an apartment company.
Verandah Flats is a beautiful 70's resort like place on the outside. The landscaping is lovely and lounging at the pools is seriously heavenly. Privacy was an issue here: The patios back up to other people's patios though (like 10ft away) so no privacy out back. The way the apartments are set up are awkward... you can see into everyone's apartments, minimal privacy. The biggest problem we had living here was with the parking situation. Once you enter the gate, you have to make a SHARP left turn. My husband's normal sized F150 truck barely made it. He then could only park in a handful of spaces that he could fit in... if they were even available. Don't even try to get a uhaul or trailer in this complex, won't happen! UPS/Amazon/food delivery service was a nightmare! I can't count how many issues I had getting packages delivered while there. Get a PO box if you move in... that's easier. Many of my 1st impressions didn't hold true of this place: The apartments are older and are painted to look remodeled at first glance, but it was just a modern paint job, french doors, cheap ikea curtains and pretty hanging lights that got me. We couldn't bathe in our tubs the whole time we lived there as they would fill with an orange rust. Stairs to second floor are rickety and unstable and patio hardwoods are flimsy. There's no ventilation.... cooking on our stove was a nightmare. A/C & Heat are controlled by the property. When they deem time to turn on heat, no control for those late fall texas nights that are still hot. The a/c returns are in the hallway, so the bedrooms have to be opened in order to get circulation. My husband knows about electrical stuff and he said there was no ground in the apartment. Said it was a HUGE fire hazard. Moving out was literally the worst experience I've ever had and have rented for almost 20 years. 60 days notice, which is fine but they remind you your lease is up at 30 days instead and if you forgot to check your lease @ 60 days, you get automatically renewed month-to month. I'd recommend living there for the cute, quirky nostalgia value. Lakewood is so awesome for restaurants, bars and going out. YMCA is right next door, so that was nice. Traffic on Gaston is a HUGE deterrent and I hear that Gaston/Garland Rd intersection is about to get a whole lot worse!
I want to start off with how much I love my apartment with Power Properties. I am living in the Verandas off of Gaston Ave. I have been here going on 4 years now, and have never had an issue. I would have to say one of the main aspects I love is the fixed rate on electricity which includes the A.C. It makes living very affordable; especially in the summer when I can leave on and blast my A.C all day long and not have to worry about paying an arm and leg. My unit alwAys stays cold. I would have to say, it is everything that I wanted and more. I love the decor, style, and the properties boutique uniqueness. The pools are beautiful (lagoon like) with comfy poolside daybeds and grills to entertain guest. The Verandas has an dog park and a zen garden with fireplaces. The staff is so personable, and they really work hard to make your apartment the home you desire and really strives to give you the experience they would expect to receive in looking for their home. Whenever there has been an issue, it is fixed in a timely manner. These are older apartments, that were refurbished in its entirety. So, potential clients need to keep in mind that there are going to be issues that arise. But rest assured that they are handled. They have done an fantastic job from the old run down apartments they were before Power Properties took over. They have so much personality, and you can't find another company that can offer the look, price points, uniqueness, and professionalism that Power Properties provides.
You would think that one would lose sleep living off of Gaston Ave. However, that has not been the case since I've lived at the Verandas. The serene environment from the music playing in the courtyards, friendly neighbors, and calming colors of the exterior and interior give off a very calming vibe that isn't normally present in a busy neighborhood. The courtyards are great for entertaining if you're in to swimming, bbq-ing, and enjoying a cold beer on a warm day like I frequently like to do. However, you can only have one guest at the pool, but that's fine as the summer tends to bring out a lot of folks and there is only so much room. One pool/courtyard area is bigger than the other, but the smaller one is cuter I think. ..The ladies in the leasing office are always welcoming and helpful when I go in or call which shows that they care..Not having control of heat or air has been an adjustment, especially when the weather is as unpredictable as it is now. You can control your apartment with space heaters and fans though so that makes it doable...Everything I need is close by as far as restaurants, grocery stores, the lake, downtown, uptown, whatever you need. I have lived in a few apartment communities over the years, but have never felt as at home as I do here.
