I had a plumbing issue in the shower/bath. Andy the maintenance guy was not only very professional but patient. Due to personal issues I had to reschedule the appointment 3 times. The issue was resolved. Andy is the best! Thank you Andy and all of the Staff from Aaron, Natalie, Katherine, Taylor and everyone else who works so hard to make this a great place to live. My move-in was easy and seamless, the apartment was in good condition, and any maintenance issues that I had over the course of my lease were quickly resolved by the maintenance staff. The staff in the leasing office were always friendly and always helpful, and the property amenities are all in excellent condition. I very much enjoyed my time living at Eastland.

I have lived here for 4 years. Every experience I have had has been poor. The property is not worth the price you pay. Ongoing plumbing issues. The staff does not care about its residents. When I asked about rent concessions for the issues, I was told that would not be possible; because they could simply move someone else in and charge them more. The area is convenient, but there are plenty of other complexes in the area. Please don’t waste your money or sanity on this property. ANYWHERE else would be better.

Seventh year living at Eastland. It’s great here. I appreciate Alisa in the office most of all. She is fantastic. So helpful and she sticks up for a long time resident like me when times are tough. So I would recommend Eastland. I’ve always liked it here.

Terms of rent are interestingly intense. Seems to be a Grand Rapids thing to require two months rent to end your lease early, not prorated. They threatened to evict me twice in the first month due to clerical errors on their part. Besides that, the buildings are okay, it's not too crazy around there, and it's decently apart from the city to keep things quiet. Central air, rather than wall units, was nicer but are only single stage, this kid. the price is right, so it's a wash in regards to worth. This is certainly not a luxury kind of place, but I'd place it as a decent value assuming you're planning to stay for awhile. They didn't try to hit me on the deposit on the way out, and were overall pretty amenable. Maintenance was okay, mostly just getting by with what they had available, but worked to get it done. I had an old air conditioning unit in an older building, but newer ones were present. As a budget stay, not bad, but not great. You get what you pay for, mostly, and this was a decent place to stay. I would have stayed another 6 months, but I waited until the last minute, so it wasn't to be. My fault. I'd recommend it if you're on a budget, but not if you're expecting nicer terms from a nicer place.

BUYER BE WARNED!! DO NOT RENT HERE!!!! MAIN ISSUE OF ETHICS - They shoved a new lease on us 5 months early and said the longer we waited to sign the more expensive it would get. We had been planning on moving but hadn't ironed out the details. We signed the new lease not knowing it would prohibit us from putting in our notice. A week later we figured out what we were doing and went to give a notice. Mind you this notice is OVER 90 DAYS in advance. But since they essentially back people into a corner signing a new lease 5 months early we had 2 options either pay an extra $1500 to break the new lease that doesn't even start for another 4 months or continue paying rent on 2 places now! We were emptying our bank accounts just trying to leave this horrid place and had to have money loaned to us just to give the notice. THEY WILL NOT TAKE YOUR NOTICE WITHOUT $1500 OR $2500 IF YOUR UNLUCKY WITH YOUR TIMING. The girls in the office don't care and will not work with you in the slightest to work something out. We had every intey to pay but they refused to take the notice without us paying right then and there, basically forcing us to keep paying for a place we wouldnt be using. With the way everything is going in the country right now this way of thinking and doing things is just disgusting. DO NOT RENT HERE!!! OTHER Building ISSUES - Lived here for 2 years and had 2 apartments. Everything is falling apart. The blinds crack and break just opening and closing them. Kitchen counters are warped. Dishwasher floods (guy came out 3 times and "fixed it" No we had a towel in front of it the whole year we were in this apartment. Day 1 the shower had bubbles in whatever lining they use to throw it together when you move in. A week later the shower looks like crap and just shredded pieces all of it all over the tub. The screen door keeps falling off for the porch and the screen for the window kept blowing off. You can literally drive around and see other people's screens in the middle of the lawn or on the roofs. It's just crap. DO NOT RENT HERE!!

Don’t be fooled… under the fresh paint is dangerous mold. I have videos and photos from Dad’s and his neighbors apartment there and it was disgusting. Black slime coming out of the faucets too. Doesn’t seem like a safe clean environment…. Especially for those prices…. There is no way this place is 4 stars. All smoke and mirrors. Stay safe.

I really love living at Eastland Apartments. The staff are great. I am glad that they require renter's insurance. I agree with it 100%. My problem is that they don't accept my State Farm renter's insurance. As a result I had to change insurance companies. The new company charges twice as much for renter's insurance as State Farm and that's only if I purchase their auto insurance. It is less coverage for more money than what I have with State Farm. It does not work well at all for me. What I had was a better deal. This is and will continue to be very inconvenient for me because the landlord won't accept State Farm.

For the last four months I have had to submit a maintenance request for the A/C. The first three months it cut out because the thermostat wire is wrapped around the outside of the building and gets clipped by lawn care. The solution was to use wire nuts after each time it was run over instead of properly running it through the building. After pointing this out six weeks ago I was told they would run the wire properly and still nothing. I now have two large puddles of water accumulating in my apartment due to a “lack of charge in the AC”. This was supposedly addressed, yet water is still accumulating and I still have no cold air. I’m not typically one to post this kind of thing, but it seems to be the only means of getting their attention in any meaningful way. Perhaps, with some luck, you could end up with a problem-free unit, but I would not count on prompt and appropriate responses to your maintenance needs.

We’ve lived here at Eastland for a few years and so far our experience has been pleasant. You really can’t beat the price and they are working in fixing up the Property. The maintenance crew here are wonderful. The office staff is Pleasant! It’s also in the perfect area and close to everything.

We've only lived here a few months but we love our two bedroom, it gives us a lot of space for us and our dog. Some more positives are our dog absolutely loves the dog park and we love having an enclosed area so close we can take him to wear off some of that puppy energy! We also love the various resident events that they put on every month. Our first apartment we lived in didn't do that so we didn't expect that but we absolutely love it. The events make this apartment feel more homey/like a community which is great. Now no place is perfect so I will admit there were a few maintenance things that needed to be fixed when we moved in (but they were taken care of decently fast.) And we would love a little more cupboards in the kitchen but also understand thats just the limitation of apartment living.

I’ve had multiple things stolen from me while only living here a few weeks. And I’ve talked with other residents who have had their apartments broken into! It’s gotten so bad some people have created a neighborhood watch. There is no security here what so ever. I’d recommend avoiding this place at all costs and save your money from the thefts that will happen when you move in.

I really enjoy living at Eastland Apartments- the staff is great and know me by name. The resident events and amenities are wonderful. My grandchildren love to swim in the pool during the hot summer months.

We stayed on a 12 month lease and left as soon as we could. All of the door to the closets fell off the hinges within 12 days, the door to enter the building didn’t close properly, water from shower barely worked and the heating/cooling systems are from the 60s. Management were rude and unresponsive. Stay away

I did not receive a letter from them that I needed to renew my lease 2 months in advance (lease just says 2 months if moving out). I now have to pay OVER market value to stay. I could have moved in new and paid less than renewing. The office only cares about new residents, not renewals. I have never rented at such a place and will move out as soon as I can.

Overall It's not too bad as cheap apartments go, the neighbors are noisy and smoke like chimneys, but you get that at any apartment. One thing I can confirm is that the maintenance staff is rude and incompetent. They don't always give the advance notice they are supposed to give before coming into your apartment, and when they do, they just barge in anyway on my naked wife after 2 hurried knocks, without even waiting for a response. When we notified the front desk of the incident, they pretty much told us "too bad, be ready next time". Hope your maintenance staff doesn't leave my apartment with a black eye next time. They'll keep getting our money until our lease is up, but then we're out of here.

We had problems with Eastland from the start, which probably should have been a warning sign - however, we needed an apartment rather quickly because it was the beginning of the school year. They have had a lot of workers in the leasing office come and go within the year that we had been there - which caused a lot of unclear communication on their side of things. We were scheduled to have an appointment to tour a one bedroom apartment, but when we got there (keep in mind we had about an hour drive to get there) - the lady told us that the appointment was not in their calendar and someone must have not put it in there and it was too busy of a time to show us an apartment. So needless to say we drove all that way to not be shown an apartment because someone did not put it in the calendar. Then they told us the wrong move in date - so we were given the wrong amount to make the check out to when moving in and the mix up would cost us an additional $75 dollars, which they did not waive even though it was an error made by one of the leasing ladies. We finally moved in and off the bat we had more problems - to name a few - our A/C stopped working during our first week of being there, and it took three different maintenance calls to get it fully working again. Then, we had bees coming in our apartment through the vents - and not just one or two bees - we had SEVERAL. Another complaint is that there were people smoking weed in the building every day (we notified the office a few times to see if they could send a warning to help; but we figured it was never addressed because it never got better). Other problems that occurred during the year were people yelling outside our window at 2am quite a few times, police were over there at least once or twice a week, if not more, and constant trash everywhere. We understood that we were not paying a high price to live there - but we expected more. And now they raised the prices again and do not cover amenities within the rent. It is not worth the money - my advice would be just pay the extra $50-100 a month and live in a much better environment.
First day of walking in to put in my application I was told by another tenant right in the office in front of everybody not to move hear that they don't care about the tenants..shut off water to the whole building one day didn't get any type of notice for the whole 3 hours of water was shut off was told in a very smart disrespectful way that they dont always have time did give him notice to the tenants that everybody's going to be affected second Instagram vehicle towed due to getting a new vehicle and the DMV was closed on my birthday after just getting out of the hospital this place that's not care about their tenants don't

I've lived at Eastland for about 8 years and watched it go downhill so much. At best, the office staff are indifferent. I'm still waiting for several maintenance requests to be addressed (it won't happen, but maybe before the next victim moves in). The police are here more and more often; it just doesn't feel remotely safe any more. The rents keep going up, but there haven't been any improvements to the property. I just would not recommend living here to any one.
Love living here! Excellent place to live plus wonderful office staff.

I've lived in my apartment for about 4 years now and I really have never liked it. The managers do not take care of my apartment. They do not change the carpet, fix the windows, remove mold, etc. I have been paying so much money in rent and I do not see where the money is going. They do not do anything for my family and I to deserve so much money each month.
I have been living in this apartment for a little less than a year and have experienced quite a bit of problems. The neighbors are extremely noisy, and they are constantly smoking pot/cigarettes. Also, our landlord won't do anything about it. We've also had leaks in our bathtub and our garbage disposal stopped working, and they won't come and properly repair them, they just glue it all together. Wouldn't recommend this apartment complex.
For a first time renter, Eastland is a decent apartment complex. The neighbors around are loud from time to time but I believe that you'll get neighbors like that anywhere, so it's not terrible. The apartment is decent for the price and the location of the complex is great, close to shopping, attractions, etc. Overall, Eastland is a good place for anyone looking for a decent priced apartment.
management is rude, maintenance takes too long, I went without a/c for 3 months and they refused to compensate me. my furnace didn't work for weeks, my dishwasher never worked throughout my lease ad maintenance said there was nothing wrong. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy.
It's good for a first apartment but not somewhere you could live forever. It's extremely damaged and they aren't good at getting things fixed right away. Waiting on my second time of calling about mold in my bathroom. Office staff is nice and there's a pool. People upstairs smoke weed and we are allergic and office staff still hasn't done anything about the illegal acts going on around their apartments. I don't feel very safe walking at night either. I suggest you get renters insurance too because people, somehow, are constantly flooding their bathrooms. Also when I told them their were cracks in my bathroom, instead of fixing it they just painted on them so I couldn't see. Not happy .

The staff are friendly but very slow and getting me a repairman in my house. And when they do nothing gets properly fixed. Waiting on my second time for calling about the mold in my bathroom. They just painted over all the cracks and the first time he came while I wasnt here so I couldn't see what he was doing. The people upstairs are always smoking pot and we are allergic. They won't do anything about it. Don't move here, it's a waste of money and bad for your health.
Overall, I like my apartment. Of course I do, considering I've been here for over 6 years now lol. Since my apartment is a loft, it has an upstairs so it feels and looks bigger than it is, I like the spacious feeling of it. I like that it faces the forest, so when I look outside I'm treated to a lovely scenic view. My apartment is located furthest back in the complex, so it's nice and quiet. Good location, I can go for nice long walks when I want. There are some issues, like how Management won't actually remove the bee/hornet nests and instead just sprays so they keep coming back, and they could add a carport in front of my building (my building is the only one without a carport). I also wish that there was more than just 1 washing machine and 1 drying machine in the laundry room, better yet I would prefer if each unit had it's only washer and dryer. My favorite thing about this place is that it's very pet-friendly.
