Property Ratings at Eastwood Apartment Homes
I've been living here for over 6 months now. So far, I enjoy it very much! I'll give you a pros and cons. PROS: Beautiful outside, laundry is super cheap, pool is nice, and the maintenance is so quick at helping you fix things within 24 hours. CONS: The apartment gets REALLY hot but if you open the window or turn on the AC you're fine, parking is a nightmare and it is pretty pricey but to be expected in OC. Another big CON for me is that there are constant spiders coming into the apartment. We had to buy a spider spray because there were just so many.
This complex is very conveniently located so that you can connect to a freeway in pretty much any direction. My apartment was right next to the koi fish stream and the sound was very relaxing. During my time here I have had a few different maintenance issues but they always are addressed in a timely manner. A few complaints are the hot water pipes that heat up the kitchen floor and the constant build up of sand particles in the sink aerators which also seem to affect the dishwasher. The building is old so I look past the endless layers of paint and how much I hear the neighbors above me walking around. Most of the year the large living room windows allow plenty of fresh air to circulate throughout but during the summer it's pretty miserable since the only A/C unit cools just the living room and the layout doesn't allow the air to reach the bedrooms or bathroom. Overall, I haven't been unhappy here and the staff is very helpful.
The apartment is really nice in front of a koi pond. One bedroom is a little small but the other is really spacious with own sink in bedroom and walk in closet. The rent is fair. The apartments have jacuzzi, pool, basketball court, volleybal court, dog friendly, and gym. The rent only pays for apartment itself. Bills include electricty, water, and sewer.
I have been a resident since May 2015. Here are the pros and cons: PROS: -large living room and master bedroom -pet friendly -one assigned covered carport -beautiful little stream with koi fish -if you're outdoorsy : volleyball and basketball court -decent for single living or couple with no children -updated cabinets and countertops CONS: -only one laundry room!!! -guest parking is a nightmare -no storage space (there is one above your carport but still would like a closet inside the unit for jackets, vacuum, etc. -small walk-in closet for couples -very close to freeway so car gets dusty easily -cockroaches! (I'm not messy but my neighbors are so they infiltrate my unit too) -EXPENSIVE (but typical for Orange County) -doesn't come with a refrigerator or microwave; you have to get your own Book a tour and you be the judge
I signed a lease end of May 2015. The outside seems well maintained, given the current drought situation, they can only do so much with the landscaping. I have a 1 bedroom apartment and it is a decent size for my gf and I. We had a plumbing issue within the first two weeks of moving in but the maint ends guy, Jose, was pretty quick about repairing it. The only issue we have now is cockroaches! My partner and I are pretty clean too and the maintenance guy said it is because our neighbors upstairs are pretty dirty and attract them. They do offer free extermination every Tuesdays, so I guess it's a problem regardless. Also, the master bedroom window faces the hall where everyone walks through so it may be awkward trying to have intimacy because regardless of how quiet you try to be, you'll still be able to hear through the windows. Another downside is storage space! You do get a small storage space above your carport, but inside the apartment itself there's only one closet by the kitchen that you can either use as a pantry or a closet for clothes, towels, etc. other than that there's not much other spaces to store things. The walk in closet is ok if you don't have much clothes. Again the master bedroom is a decent size and it seems they sacrificed storage space for living space. The main bathroom is ok but if you're a tall person it may be too small to stand in the bathtub and the shower head will only spray your torso. Also sucks to have your guests walk through your bedroom to use the bathroom. You get one guaranteed covered parking spot. If you have a second car, the open spots inside the gated area is first come first serve or you can try your luck with street parking. Luckily, I have a motorcycle and park it with my gf's spot. You can also pay extra for a 1 car or 2 car garage across the street but there is a long waiting list. There was an issue with break-ins (with older cars) and someone also broke into the mailboxes. They replaced the locks so hopefully it won't happen again. They are pet friendly and offer baggies to clean up after your pet. There is one decent sized pool and BBQ areas. Another downside is the laundry room. There's only ONE for the entire complex! And boy does it get packed. Also, it gets super hot in there. Rent is high for a one bedroom at $1320. But it is Orange County and it's expensive everywhere. Also, there's nothing within walking distance such as grocery stores or restaurants
