Living in Birdland will place you just minutes away from some of San Diego’s most popular destinations. Along with being just nine miles from Downtown San Diego, Birdland is roughly 10 miles or less from several beaches including Mission Beach. The neighborhood is convenient to San Diego Mesa College and the University of San Diego. Tecolote Canyon Natural Park and Nature Center is located directly west of Birdland, giving residents easy access to trails. Birdland is predominately residential, but the neighborhood is located directly north of Fashion Valley Center and Westfield Mission Valley, two sprawling malls with designer retailers, big-box stores, restaurants, and more. Birdland is also home to several medical facilities including Sharp Memorial Hospital, so residents have easy access to healthcare or their workplace. This centrally located neighborhood has moderately priced to upscale rentals available, including modern townhomes and Mediterranean-style houses and apartments.

Property Ratings at eaves Mission Ridge
DO NOT move in here... Worst place i have lived in San Diego to date. Here are some details of all of the negative experiences we experienced: - BUGS: One week into our lease when we encountered 2 cockroaches, one of them being a 3 inch flying "waterbug" in my bedroom. Huge spiders. Silverfish everywhere. - WATER SMELLS LIKE ROTTEN EGGS, clearly sulfur in their pipes. - THIN WALLS & DISRESPECTFUL NEIGHBORS: To sum up 6 months of how miserable we were, our upstairs neighbors were disrespectful, rude, and threatening. There were easily 4 people living in the apt above us. They continuously blasted music that would shake the walls of our place from 5pm til 11pm or later. I had called the overnight patrol, they did nothing. You could also hear their engine revving shaking your bedroom wall at 5am. Hard to enjoy living life or getting any sleep. Only got worse when upstairs neighbors got 2 husky puppies who continuously scratched at the floor and barked. They proceeded to park blocking our driveway and when we were kind enough to ask them to move, they refused to move the car and threatened to find out where we live and were very aggressive. When we expressed our concerns to the leasing office, they said they would reach out to them and that we should call to get the car towed next time we have someone blocking our spot. We felt very unsafe. Austin did not provide us any solution rather than offering us to pay hefty fees to terminate our lease or move apartments. Very unfortunate that we were the tenants being punished for our neighbors unruly behavior. -PARKING: Horrendous. Neighbors are disrespectful and will park 3 cars in a one person driveway. -CONSTRUCTION: It basically never ends in this community. Water pipes, tree trimming, patio replacements, painting the exteriors, replacing toilets. Also, construction equipment parked there for months on end take up the few available street spots or the no parking signs. -APARTMENT ISSUES: Broken dryer. Leak in the bathroom ceiling. Leaking water heater and gas leak. Fire detectors fall off ceiling. -DEPOSIT: Do not expect anything back. Put aside a few hundred to pay hefty fees to replace entire carpet. Even though during our 2 move out inspections the maintenance guy shared that only 2 out of our 3 bedrooms needed to be replaced. But guess they went ahead and did all 3 even though it was "new" upon our move in.
Nice and quiet, close to freeways and downtown,....
We have lived in this community for going on four years. The management has always been helpful. The maintenance crew respond quickly and do very well with dogs (they give them treats and a card saying they did a good job). The main issue with this community is the parking. The street parking is near impossible and could do well with a different system, I.e. parking lot style spaces rather than parallel parking. We live in one of the older buildings so some fixtures aren't as substantial as others. Overall the safety and atmosphere of the community trumps all else. For the price - you can't do much better and still get to live with your furry friends.
The location of this apartment complex is really great. It's right by multiple freeway entrances, hospitals, and very close the Mesa community college. The community is really nice and you don't hear loud neighbors or blasting music, mostly the sounds of kids playing. The people who work here are always friendly and the neighborhood is safe. You can actually have pets unlike a lot of other apartments. And you can do your laundry in your unit, which is a big plus!
I have lived here for 4 months now, the staff here are always friendly and helpful. The surrounding area is quiet considering the hospital almost next door and the common areas are well maintained. Nice family style apartments.
The apartment is like a palace and huge. Bathroom is like a bedroom. Kitchen is so huge that I love it.
The 3bd apartment is perfect for our family of 4. It feels spacious and has a nice layout. When we've had to put in maintenance requests they've been completed quickly. There is a nice playground structure in the community right around the corner as well as a pool and small fitness center. It has quick access to the 163 freeway and other main streets in the area too. One downside though is parking. The assigned parking is not too bad (the garage can be a small fit for our Civic, but it does fit), but the curb parking is very limited. If you're having guests over they may have to drive for a bit to find a spot and it probably won't be close. Overall though we are really enjoying it so far.
I LOVE my place, but the CHAIN SMOKERS are killing me! If I walked hard, played loud music or had company all hours, I would be asked to move out due to disturbing my neighbours. Yet, chain smokers can stink up your furniture, fill your house with smoke, kill you with cancer, etc. There's plenty of open park-like areas for them to go smoke. It's up to management to tell them to go there. The place is nice for the money. Walls are thin. Maintenance is timely. Garages are NARROW. People over-park putting too many cars in front of their garages, but overall, a good place to live - if you can deal with chain smokers, freeway noise and loud car engines (bedrooms face garages).
