Property Ratings at Echelon
I have lived here 4 years. Ifst car stolen and totaled. Year later my new car was stolen...but I got it back, but trashed. 4 months later it was stolen and totaled. My cars broken into several times. We have a gate but it is always broken. We have a pool but they refuse to turn the heat on so it is never used. Your parking tag isnt visible...better have $600 to get your car back..they must get kickbacks on how much they love towing their residents. Friends stays the night...car get towed. Can't find a spot....there is no other place to park so plan on walking 1/2 mile. Count on your rent being raised the maximum allowed by law every time you lease is up.
My wife and I moved in end of 2020. We both have above 650 credit with a combined income of 3000 a month. Cost upon move in was about 4000$ with pets and the prorated rate. There is NO PARKING! It forces you to have to pay for covered parking which is an extra 25$ per car. Other than that it is a nice place management is respectable. Knowing what i know now i would still apply but this is what i wish i wouldve known ahead of time.

Hello, we appreciate this feedback. Thank you for taking the time to share this. We're happy you're satisfied here and haven't run into any major issues. Please reach out to us if you need anything and we hope you have a wonderful day!
The actual apartment inside is nice do not move here if you have a car. There is no parking what so ever in the apartments after about 5pm. At times you can drive around the complex for about 20minutes and maybe you might find someone leaving their spot. If you still do t find a spot then many cars park in the fire lanes. Sometimes they don’t do anything about that other times they tow your car from the fire lane. There literally is no where to park. Only move here if you don’t drive a car or you can get dropped off into the apartments. We had been told that parking was challenging here by a previous resident but we did not realize the extent of it or we would have chosen to move somewhere. Do not count on the staff to warn you because they are only concerned with getting people moved in.

We are sorry to see that this issue has hindered you from enjoying your experience, and we want to see that we do what we can to see that this issue is addressed. We are here to work with you and hope that you will be reaching out to us soon. Thank you.
From the very beginning the staff here has been working with me well I went to many apartment complexes and had to restate what I was looking for but when I got here they already had my name and what apartment I wanted meeting all of my bullet points. I’ve had a few work orders I’ve put in and they were responded to within days. The parking isn’t as bad as everyone says you may not be able to park right outside your apartment every time but in reality it is free to park at the complex versus many other places charging just to simply park within the complex. It is first come first serve it does get crowded after about 6-7 but I’ve come back as late as midnight and still found a spot every time. I haven’t had any security problems or felt as if I was in any sort of danger walking around the complex. I have really enjoyed living here and I’m glad I looked passed the reviews I have read before because it really is a nice place.

Looking for an apartment in the Lakewood/Tacoma area? DO NOT rent from Echelon Apartments Echelon Staff speaking from dreadful experience. Don't do it. Staff is disrespectful. The apartment complex isn't maintained (tall grass, spiders, frogs...etc.) Oh, but never near the model apartment or the office. They're sure to keep that area decent for future residents that are viewing. NOISE NOISE NOISE - the apartments are poorly built and the policies for quiet hours aren't being reinforced. Parking? HA! I hope you never leave or have a reserved spot (which cost extra) because parking is nearly nonexistent. You'll see people who don't live in the complex parked in spaces ALL the time. Also, there's no point in complaining about any of your issues to the manager, she's rude, and doesn't respond to anything. Oh, but when they finally do - weeks/months after your initial complaint they'll ask YOU to change instead of fix the issues at hand. To top all of this off... they're going up in their already high prices WITHOUT any renovations being made. This place is a joke! The staff is disgraceful! They should fire them all and redo the whole process. Absolutely terrible experience at this apartment complex!!!
Stay away. Parking is impossible if you get home later than about 8 PM or have shelled out $100 /month for a garage. Staff constantly harasses you about patio furniture. Deceptive about rates and fees especially with pets. Amenities constantly broken and not maintained. Garbage collection points are constantly overflowing. They had to raise the minimum term of the lease from 6 months to 9 months because so many people would were unwilling to sign a new lease after 6 months of putting up with them. Crime is terrible, police in and out of the development almost nightly, had to chase off somebody trying to steal my truck one night. Don't be lured by the slightly cheaper rent, it's cheap for a reason. We will be out as soon as our lease is up
It's a nice place to live and the staff is nice but the only downside is the security. Sometimes the gates don't work but the whole fence around the apartment complex has open spots so anyone can walk through and it sucks because I've had my car broken into while it was locked. Thank goodness I don't keep a ton of crap in my car nothing was taken but still the knowing that anyone can just walk in. Everymoring when I leave for work I always see homeless and other people in the trash or just walking around the cars until they notice someone is watching.. just a scary feeling or not feeling safe at all.
I lived here and it was beautiful!! I loved my apartment, however when you move out they try and get you on every single thing they can find! The people in the office are ridiculous! People put bikes on their balconies but goodness if I have a toddler slide! Look that's a patio object! Anyway! Just awful! Wouldn't live here again!!
