Michigan City is a fairly small city overlooking Lake Michigan, positioned about fifty miles east of Chicago and forty miles west of South Bend. Historically one of Indiana’s most vibrant communities, Michigan City maintains a thriving local culture with museums, breweries, a casino, and numerous popular performance venues providing endless options for your downtime.
The waterfront location gives the city a beautiful scenic quality, and both the lake itself and the nearby Indiana Dunes are popular recreation venues for locals and visitors alike. The South Shore Line offers affordable rail service to both Chicago and South Bend, allowing you to travel to two of the Midwest’s most distinctive cities without having to drive.

Property Ratings at Edgewood Apartments
It’s pretty decent size for a 2 bedroom apartment. Safe neighborhood, near everything. Can hear neighbors though ??. What sucks is it’s very hot during the summer in the bedrooms and bathroom, the A/C doesn’t reach that far.
These are a little older, but kinda cozy. Neighbors seemed nice. Good mix of people of all ages. Looks like they're doing some updating here and there. Much better than Normandy Village.
My friend lives here, I stopped to visit today. These are pretty nice for the price. I like where they're located. If you need an apartment, I'd say come here.
I am a college student who was in need of housing for my internship in Michigan City. I am from Texas so I was not able to come to Michigan City to find a place to live before the internship started. I had six days to find a place to live and get moved in. The manager emailed and faxed all the information I needed, even went to the apartment on a Sunday night to take some pictures to send to me to show my parents. The manager called me on Tuesday to let me know I was approved. I arrived in town at 11pm on Thursday night. The manager met me at the apartment, where we signed the lease and all the other stuff. Apartment was great, everything was nice and clean. Very friendly staff, and manager. Recommend to anyone.
It took a while to get an apartment, because of a difficulty in contacting my employer. I was in a bind, had nowhere to go because my apartment was already leased. Management worked hard to get me an apartment in time. I was mad, and panicking and I was probably rude to them. I want to apologize to them for that, and let everyone know these are great apartments, and the staff is super nice and fair. I plan on staying here for a long time.
Just visited Edgewood, was driving through and happened to meet the manager. Very helpful, took me around the place. These are pretty cute, I would never guess they were as big as they are. Way reasonably priced, too. Thanks, Jessie.
I saw one of these apartments just a little while ago. Catherine drove me over to look at a really nice apartment on the first floor. What I liked the most was the open living room and dining room. Very clean and nice. The bathroom shower is all tile, very nice too. Big windows, and a lot of closets. I would recommend them.
These apartments are the worst and the landlord is horrible . Save your money and rent somewhere else
