Property Ratings at El Capitan Apartments
I moved in a few months ago and i absolutely love this place! Management was always very helpful and friendly. Neighbors are very kind and welcoming. I’m a young firefighter and it can be difficult at times to schedule but that was never a problem since management always worked with me and made it a very easy and simple experience! I’m very grateful to live here and I highly recommend.
I've been in a downstairs apartment going on 2 years and I've never had any plumbing issues. I love it here. It's quiet and well maintained and friends who visit me always comment that's it's so chill here. Neighbors are cool and rest is pretty cheap for the area. No complaints!
Recently got my forwarded mail from my former El Captain address. I miss this quiet community that was very affordable and always had clean amenities. My new complex laundry room has been under repairs for two months. I don’t ever recall having a maintenance issue or laundry issue at El Captain. Parking was never a problem although if a disrespectful resident abused parking or quiet hours, the manager was very receptive of the complaint and always handled issues asap. Gone are my days of residing in San Diego but if I ever need temporary housing for work again, I will check out this place first.
I enjoyed my time living here. I lived here for 3 years and only moved because I was offered a job in 2 hours away. It was very quiet, clean and peaceful. I never had any issues with the washing machines and I did laundry once a week. I also never had any plumbing issues and I lived in a downstairs apartment. My rent was very affordable and my only utility bill was for my electric. I didn't mind the 2 E.S.A. dogs there but then I'm an animal lover. It's amazing what some people will complain about. That shooting that took place was in the Winter and it was in front of a property that's located way down the street from us. Not even on the same street. I am a single female and lived alone and never felt unsafe living here.
Parking situation is horrible, constant plumbing issues, laundromat works only half the time, there are shootings literally across the street, came here because they didn't allow dogs but then people bring dogs anyway. Then they have the audacity to keep raising my rent, literally go anywhere else.
I have lived on this property for over a year, and has been a very positive experience. It is quiet and peaceful, and the neighbors are very kind. El Capitan Apartments is quaint and located on a quiet street in Lakeside, and is a short walk to Lindo Lake County Park, and many shops and restaurants. The pool is always nice and clean, and is perfect for the hot summer days we get here in East County. The laundry machines are new, and paying for cycles is convenient. My favorite feature in the apartment are the wood panel ceilings. I only wish they hadn't painted over mine, because that would have looked really cool, but it still looks very nice! The property manager who lives on-site is also very kind, and will take care of your needs in a very timely manner. She has handled many of my work orders myself, including fixing my heater when it started to get cold.
They have terrible plumbing/backflow issues, that according to the landlord, happen to all lower units due to how old the complex is. Things rarely got fixed. There was always so much fur in the washers/dryers from other tenant's pets. I would not recommend these apartments to anyone.
I want to write this review because I feel in my heart and know through my experiences that this property is delightful. In my time living in unit #3 (04/2020-09/2022) I knew this complex as a place of peace and as somewhere oddly wholesome as well. The Tenants I knew were friendly and gave the property the feeling of being more close and less cold and impersonal. This is an older building so if you're looking for sleek fancy frills this is not the place for you. That said, if you're looking for somewhere that has a humble and well put together vibe this place is the spot. I personally never had an apartment where the stove used gas which was surprisingly awesome; In addition, as a single guy this was the perfect 1 bedroom apartment and served my needs well. This property is managed by Delta Property Management and at the time of my departure recently received a new property manager as well. In my time living at El Capitan given the oddness and turbulence of our times I fell on hard times financially and was struggling. I was humbled and deeply grateful for the fact that both Delta and the new Property Manager really worked with me because I was willing to be open and honest with them and I feel given the circumstances they really did right by me and extended a lot of understanding which I think was both very kind and made my move so much easier. I can't say it's for everyone, but at least for me I had a smile on my face when I came home every day and I can honestly say that while my move was positive on my end, it was deeply bittersweet because I was hesitant to leave. So long as they continue to do right by Tenants and be fair this property has my wholehearted recommendation. =)
