Property Ratings at El Cordova Apartments
would give 0 stars if i could. they need new management/employees who’re welcoming, friendly, professional, know what they’re talking about and ORGANIZED. terrible!!
Property Manager at El Cordova Apartments, Responded To This Review
We're sorry to hear that your first impression of us was less than positive. Each member of our team strives to carry themselves with high degrees of respect and professionalism and we apologize that this was not reflected in your experience. We would appreciate a second chance at a first impression. If you are willing, please give us a call. We hope to hear from you soon and resolve any concerns you may have. Thank you, kindly.
Rent is high for the condition of this place. Been here for 3 years and the standards continue to get lower and lower. Gym closed, bbq grills closed, pool closed, spa closed...and yet the rent still increases! If anything the rent should be lower! They said the bball court and tennis court would be redone but instead are turning it into a stupid dog park! At first this place was amazing, but they have since switched management 3, each one more incompetent than the last. So disappointed in how fast this place has gone downhill...
I regret so much moving into El Cordova Apts. I should have seen the red flags after reading all the bad reviews. Unfortunately, I needed a place to move in as soon as possible so I did it but I regret it so much. This place is disgusting...full of rats, old, smelly, bugs, constant water issues, smell of marijuana throughout the complex. The rent is extremely high for a complex of this level...totally ridiculous. No wonder everyone is moving out and no one is moving in.
It's unbelievable the price here for rent. What they don't tell you about the car thieves & and rats that are throughout the property. Me having my car broken into TWICE, & the manger saying "Oh there's nothing we can do, it's in the lease." I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. It may look nice in pictures, during the walk thru, even close to the mall. I guarentee you do not want to live here.
Pros: * Nice complex, units have been newly remodeled from the outside. Nice landscaping and a lot of open, grassy areas. * People at the leasing office are nice and professional. * Quiet, gated community. * Gated, covered parking Cons: * Kitchens and dining rooms are TINY. You wont' be hosting any dinner parties. * Parking lot lights are BRIGHT--if you live next to the parking lots you will not be able to use your patio after dark (unless you like having blinding lights on you) * About 3/4 of the washers and dryers in the laundry rooms area always out of order. * Some of the equipment in the fitness center does not work (2 out of the three elliptical machines were not working last time I checked) * The fence around the perimeter of the complex is old and falling apart. * Apartments are overpriced for what they are, but that goes for all rents in the LA area. * They will raise your rent every year
El Cordova used to be a place I could call home. I no longer feel safe. Maintainance and management just come in and out of units anytime with no warning. Unsafe conditions everywhere. When compaints are presented, it is not being acknowledged.
Wish I could give this zero stars...Been here since 2014 and it is now May 2018 and I must say its has been a huge headache. I HIGHLY recommend staying away! Don't take my word for it, talk to any of the residents that have been here 6 months at least and I'm sure they'll give you an ear full. The only reason I've remained so far is because my work is 5 mins away and school is 15 mins. About the only thing good here is that the maintenance crew are nice and hard working. The bad: 1. Rent increased yearly $100 2. Management has been replaced 3 times since 2014 & current manager is a joke and doesn't fulfill basic requests. 3. Daily construction & noise for the last 2 yrs 4. Personal parking space used by other tenants & construction crews all while nothing done to resolve issue. 5. Extra spaces always taken by contractors or neighbors visitor and tenants always parking in the streets. 6. Repair requests can take up to a week for management to respond. 7. Gym equipment is from the 90's and broken mostly. 8. Laundry room machines not working monthly but some how will always take your money. 9. Apartments are labeled with asbestos & cancer causing signs everywhere due to the old age & materials used in the building process. 10. You are not allowed to put ANYTHING on your balcony except patio chairs or you will be fined. 11. Very thin walls and can hear your neighbors through out the night. 12. Weedwackers & leaf blowers running for hours early mornings every day. 13. Bbq grills always broken. 14. Parking lot motorized gates always breaking down and keeping you trapped inside and being late for work. 15. Construction noise goes on into the night and you can never get any quiet or relaxation time Like I said, speak to some current residents that have been here 6 months plus for their opinion before you regret it.
These apartments are under going a major building renovation , that's taking forever. All the while the parking is a nightmare it's a free for all ,theres no longer assigned parking stalls.. back to the renovation , these apartments where built in the 60s and they show their age. You are forced out of your apt so they can do the renovation for weeks. Management here is a joke. One assistant barely speaks english.....but my point they can fix the outsides of the buildings but the insides where you live is a journey back to 1964 old and dark. Stay away. You can put makeup on a pig but it's still a PIG! THIS PLACE IS A FAT NAST PIG TRYING TO HIDE THAT WITH PAINT RUN BY RUDE AND IGNORANT MANAGERS
Run away as fast as you can. This place is falling apart literally. The pictures do not reflect what El Cordova actually looks like: run down apartment, buildings falling apart, serious termites, parking structure will damage your cars as it is falling apart and pieces will fall on your cars, balconies are literally falling apart and management does not know how to complete projects or repairs. When your property such as your car is damaged by debris falling on it, management will tell you it is not their responsibility or their problem. This place deserves 0 stars. Move somewhere else or you will REGRET MOVING TO EL CORDOVA.
Location: Ok Maintenance: ok KEEP LOOKING. There are many better places for the same cost or less. Pictures can be so deceiving....... bugs everywhere, how would you feel having breakfast, lunch, dinner or even cooking and or getting yourself ready in front of the mirror and you see bugs flying around you....really bad. Im a very clean person, no any type of insects should not be around me... good luck when a big wide car or truck parked next to your parking space because the parking space is for compact car size only. Old dishwasher very dirty when we move in, water leak from the unit above. Come, live here to experience for yourself if you don't believe on the review.
I've lived at El Cordova for several months now. We entered just as new management had taken over the apartments. I have had to work with management with a few issues; they have always been professional in communication and resolution. I wasn't looking for a perfect place, just one in which the management does have a good approach to ensuring problems/repairs are taken care of in a timely manner. Having lived in other apartments, I would say that the people here are generally pretty quiet.
This complex is in a great location, right across the street from Southbay Pavilion and only a few blocks from on-ramps for both the 405 and 110. Every apartment has a balcony/patio and the apartments are huge! The pool area is gorgeous and very well-kept. Multiple laundry rooms conveniently located through the complex and open 24 hrs. I am also a huge fan of how much greenery there is, as well as the fact that all buildings are only 2 stories. This gives a very homey feel and the sense that you are a part of a community, and not just a standard apartment complex.
I'VE BEEN LIVING HERE FOR 2 YEARS AND I DON'T WANT TO MOVE BECAUSE IT SO CLOSE TO EVERYTHING. YOU HAVE TARGET,IKEA, AND A WALMART LESS THAN 5 MINUTES AWAY FROM YOU. YOU ARE CLOSE TO THE 110, 405, 91 AND 710 DOSE TAKE NO MORE THAN 10 MINUTES TO GET TO THESE FREEWAYS! THE APARTMENTS ARE REALLY BIG, HAS AC, WASHER AND DYER, AND NO PARKING HASSLE! YOU HAVE GREAT NEIGHBORS, GREAT CLUB HOUSE, POOL. GYM. SUSANA. AND PLAY GROUND FOR THE KIDS! I REALLY DON'T NEED TO MOVE BECAUSE THIS IS SUCH A GREAT PLACE TO LIVE YOU HAVE EVERYTHING BY YOU, PLUS THE SPACE OF THE PLACE IS AMAZING!
We choose this apartment base on 3 things: 2 free Parking, Washer and Dryer, and location (Rent Price) Been living here for about 1 1/2 years. I won't be saying much things they provide as its all under the description of their apartment sites. Likes: Location (Which is probably the best thing for this apartment): Not bad as it's right beside a mall that has Ikea, Target and restaurants. Auto shops and Banks (BOA and CHASE) are all within a 5 minutes drive. They have their own gyms and pools that you can use during the day time. And paid electricity. Dislikes: Parking issues. We were told that we will have one assigned parking and there are open spots that can be parked by anyone. We were worried that we may not get a spot, but was reassure that we WILL. Upon moving in for more than a year, I parked out on the streets 99% of the time. 1st is because there are hardly space when i get home and 2nd, bugs do get into your car. (spiders, and ants). Surrounding: This place is basically surrounded by lots of big and tall trees. While it sounds pretty nature, but these trees actually covered up all the sunlight that you may need in a house. And with all the trees, comes all the problems with bugs and pests. - You'll have ants and spiders in the house. I have seen at least 5 different kind of spiders in here (No, we don't keep the doors open). - During the night time, you'll be hearing things running on the roof. Yes, Rats and its not squirrels because I've seen it falling off the trees. - There's the balcony that you may enjoy some of the breeze during the day or night. But guess what? We never seat outside at all, because of the mosquito and fleas luring around the area. Inside the apartment: If you live here long enough, you'll see how its poorly built. Looking around the kitchen, behind the closest, you'll see these big holes that they run the wires and drain pipes. (I seriously think, bugs actually came in from that place). Dishwasher is a mess, it works just fine, but its just old that you may be able to see spider webs below the machines. Beware of washer and dryer. You need to have small types of them to fit inside the room. (And it has to be electric for your dryer.) We weren't told, and we brought a gas type dryer that can't be used. I wished someone had written a review like this, so I won't actually be choosing this location.
THE GOOD • Fast and quality maintenance crew. • Close to freeway • Fairly clean throughout and shaded with lots of nice landscaping and trees. (But don't let that fool you) THE BAD • EXCESSIVE leaf blowing! Even on weekends. • Termite INFESTED • Poor management (They were recently replaced) • Ridiculous rent increases for old dusty apartments. • They walked in without permission one day and put "Cancer warning" stickers in all my kitchen cupboards. I wasn't home. • Carson has a lot of popular restaurants, unfortunately, they are all the worst versions of themselves. MY BEST ADVICE • There are plenty of quality places available for the same cost. • KEEP LOOKING!
